If you would’ve put up a sign that said like “if you leave person belongings to reserve chair and are not back within 30 minutes they will be move to the lost and found” it would’ve been perfect
I think you are hghly overestimating the ability of the average person to notice, let alone have the functional literacy to read, a sign. Source: customers at my job bang on the door when all the lights are off, sign with our hours literal inches from their face, to find out if we are "still open"
The last place I worked, there was a giant sign that pointed to Member Services the second you entered the establishment. And the member service desk is right behind that sign. Furthermore, it detailed everything you could get at Member Services. If you lost something, you go there. If you need to request something, you go there. If you're not happy with the services, you go there. Customers routinely came to my section, which is hidden compared to the blatantly up in your face Member Services and ask if I could help them with Member Service issues. I would point them to where they entered and 80% of them said "Oh, they moved it on us, didn't they?" To be fair, they did move it. Two years prior to when I worked. But they had ample signs for the years after so I really don't think it would make a difference. People always believe they know what's going on and that they don't need to look at anything. Or more importantly, people always think they can have things bent to their way that they don't need to follow the rules... so they don't look.
Seriously, it’s not hard to plan our your vacation, spend a day at the park or a day at the pool Also, if you’re all in the pool why do you need that many chairs for?
Honestly that hotel should have had a sign that said: "if your belongings are left unattended for over 30 mins, they will be moved to lost and found." Or however long is reasonable. I actually haven't heard of a place that let's their guests save unattended spots for hours. That's crazy.
They do that at Aulani Ans the craxy thing is we in the pool swimming so it’s like ummm I didn’t go anywhere I’m just not sitting on the chair I’m in the lazy river rn
Most places that I've been to that allow for/take reservations at resorts/hotels with large pool areas etc. have a reserved section and an open "first-come" area. The reserved section is usually for guests with that extended privilege (membership/package deal, etc.) and includes the time limit factor of "if unattended for x period of time (usually 1-2hrs) your belongings will be removed and your reservation is no longer valid" in addition to a time where "indicating use of reservation" has to happen (like placing a towel over a lounge chair at the opening time).
Man, my family could never. Whenever we go ANYWHERE that would require us leaving our things unattended for more then 20 seconds we have one of us STATIONED with the stuff to watch it like a hawk. We from Brooklyn, you heard? We don't play like that lol 🤣
he did the right thing, as a customer I would appreciate the lifeguard going the extra mile to make sure I can enjoy the pool. that big guy sounds like he had roid rage and ego problems

Well, this was probably pre-recording everything. But if they left valuables, as a manager. I would do absolutely NOTHING for them. They can take it as a lesson. Just make sure to post a sign that says we aren't responsible for left or lost items.
I heard at Disney they track that sort of behavior. Like hotel guest, means room key, which means there’s some record of you. If they see that every time you visit you complain and get free stuff, eventually you will run out of pixie dust.
People suck. I worked retail and every now and again I'd get a phone call from someone trying to get a free phone by claiming they lost theirs (in the hopes there was one in the lost an found). So they'd be like, "Oh, I lost my phone there." But I'd force them to descrbe it (one woman claimed it had a case but couldn't remember what the case looked like because, and I quote - "My kids are always switching the cases" but couldn't describe any of them). That way they couldn't piggy-back of me going, "Why yes, there's an iPhone in here," and claiming it was theirs.
Swoozie established a great system, you can't just "Reserve" chairs when your not going to even use them for hours, the level of entitlement is insane.

Let me clean this puddle of sweat from the floor now after hearing the story of dealing with the Terminator. I have been in your situation and felt your pain. Never fun to address, but you got through with kudos. So victory!
This video is such a ridiculous reminder that people, on average, seem to be super inconsiderate. It's like he spent years watching people cut each other off in traffic.
if u ever worked with clients and public in generl u find out how incosiderate imature and selfish most people are . I had the displasure of working on a mall "my first jobs" , that was the worse part of the job. People tought just because you're hired, they have the right to say whatever the fuck they want and be as rude has they want .
Tbh, he did get a juicy bonus so it wasn't all bad. Penny for your troubles. Still, some customers can be so insufferable, the way they are so selfish.
I feel like an expensive hotel next to an amusement park is a bad place to get an impression of the average joe. Most people there will probably be upper class, rather privileged and not that used to being told no.
confrontation is the hardest thing to do especially with people who always feel entitled. but you set up a schedule, and documented so I think that was the best way to handle it!
The only way to have avoided confrontation here is to leave a warning. Like a sign by the pool saying, “If you leave your items unattended for a half hour they will be sent to lost and found.”
M.C.Honey Rose I get what he’s saying, but I don’t think they are even comparable. There is so much more complexity to the mask/social distancing issue. And as you can tell from Adande’s story, people definitely did care about getting their stuff removed by the pool staff. The act of him taking their stuff (albeit, without warning) resulted in the vast majority of people following the rules thereafter, which shows that people do take that seriously.
I feel like this is why most pool places have signs that say "we are not responsible for lost or stolen items" I also would not be brave enough to leave my headphones out for hours. people are wild lol
The best part is that these people really think people won't steal or move their stuff themselves. Theres a reason that parking lots have those signs that say you are responsible for your valuables. Do they get mad that the lifeguards don't personally guard their stuff when it gets stolen? I literally can't imagine the entitlement. All you needed was some plastic bags to keep all the stuff separate. Then attach that wristband to it, so you knew exactly what stuff belonged with what person and how long it was abandoned for. And when people complain you just say, "it was left for more than 30 minutes, so it was considered abandoned." It's crazy that management wasn't on board with this. All they have to do is agree to a new policy of 30 min abandonment. Then the guests who actually want to use the pool during the day don't get upset that the pool deck is empty with no chairs.
As a supervisor, lol nope. If they're wrong, they're wrong. I'll do what I can to assist/fix the problem, but I don't subscribe to that philosophy. And if they get hostile, I will have them removed.
My old manager would say " yeah that's not actually a real rule, it's something people heard on television and decided it should be true, I think that show was SpongeBob".
@@AnimeWolf5193 the rule isn't meant to be all encompassing. It originally meant if the customer wants to buy a product from you, and you don't currently sell it, you should acquire it to sell to them in the future. ie, department stores adding new products.
Ohh I didn't even think about them being resort towels, fair enough. Everything else though, I would be skitzing out thinking somebody is gonna steal my stuff. If I leave my bike anywhere for like 2 seconds, it's always in the back of my head that's it's gonna be taken.
Maysey same these ppl are crazy 😂 Ive been to universal and the pool deck is usually pretty empty by evening anyway so if you’re actually getting the most of your park tickets and staying through dinner time then there’s no need to reserve a spot.
yes... Karen'S lol. With their kid'S and hairstyle'S and husband'S. Probably wearing shoe'S or sandal'S and purse'S. lol sorry about the petty comment but it really hurts my soul when people don't know basic english. Plural nouns don't use apostrophes. It's Karens, not Karen's lol. Just like it's friends and not friend's, or vlogs instead of vlog's. I'm gonna pat myself on the back for being an internet d-bag now.
NGL, If I were a lifeguard and did as swoozie did and someone pulled a "you lost a very expesive belonging of mine that I clearly made up to get you in trouble" I honestly would lie soooo much like. "ooooh, sorry, I saw a few people coming here and going through the belongings people left out, but when I confronted them they said they were a part of the group and were asked to get their friends something something. SO, worried of theft, I moved the belongings to lost and found. If you had something which aren't there anymore, I'm afraid it might've gotten stolen : C. But that can happen when things are out in the open for hours, people get oportunistic. So sorry, I'll move your items quicker next time."
@@JoyfullyShea-Marcella NONE OF THEM are going to check the fuckin cameras.. cause theyre lying remember? the comment specified -"you lost a very expensive belonging of mine that I clearly made up to get you in trouble"- CLEARLY MADE UP meaning after u tell them another lie, they are at a stalemate and dont win. simple. no camera involved
I’ve actually been to the hard rock hotel recently, and there is now a rule where you can’t leave your stuff, unattended for more than 30 minutes or one of the staff will come and take it to the lost and found
Damn!! This makes me want to be careful when going there when COVID is over with my family. Now that I know more about Karen’s I know how to be prepared. I did interact w/ one last summer but never realized it. We were minding our business & was telling us non sense about her saving dogs and assuming we were abusers. The next day we saw her again but I’m glad she didn’t notice us.
Nala yeah but sadly here in America so many white people only want to follow Trump not wearing a mask, being Karen’s/Kevin’s & not understanding the new law. Apparently I saw on Twitter that China no longer has COVID since mid May & is throwing a huge pool party
@@cuttingham_1232 i don't think that's a good idea either. I wouldn't want to take a picture with a mask to remember also you can't interact with the characters. Also if you do want to go to the gift shop you're gonna have to wait an hour or more. I saw on this couples channel that has went there
As someone not living in the US, it’s super weird to me that the hotel would be responsible for stuff that people left out and just expected to not disappear. In Mexico, if you leave something unattended, it getting stolen is just a “duh” situation.
I was considered the “b?tch lifeguard” because I took the rules seriously. The year prior, I had to save my sibling from drowning and the fear that ran through my body along with the adrenaline was a lot. I didn’t want to experience it ever again, and still don’t, so of course I felt even more obligated to take it seriously. I also had severe anxiety but my job was to prevent incidents not just react to them, I put a brave face and handled confrontation head on. I feel you on a personal level, confronting someone is never easy because the job we’re in doesn’t really pay that great to deal with people. I’m better at confrontation now due to that summer of hell and confident, exposure to the things we fear is a great way to overcome them, it’s not for everyone but it really helps. P.S. The clipboard really does give power!
@KAILEEN.VASQUEZ 103287 Yup, the kids called me that but we were chill later on when they realized I was only doing my job. One coworker didn’t care about the job, he was misogynistic, subtly racist, and was just an ass, he called me a bitch behind my back as well but it didn’t matter because he knew I hated his guts. I got him to resign two months in by just cussing him out after being polite and tolerant of him but that’s another story for another time.
Yeah that would've been a really good idea. For those people here dealing with a similar situation...take note of this. Also might want to timestamp the pictures.
I don’t understand why guests would be so inconsiderate by leaving their items at a pool area like 1. Aren’t you worried about your items being stolen and 2. If you gonna be gone for hours let someone else have the dang chair. Lol
😂😂😂 Yes! Love the use of a clipboard to make it “official”!

This video is such a ridiculous reminder that people, on average, seem to be super inconsiderate. It's like he spent years watching people cut each other off in traffic.
Right lowkey upsetting,Love the pfp btw!
if u ever worked with clients and public in generl u find out how incosiderate imature and selfish most people are . I had the displasure of working on a mall "my first jobs" , that was the worse part of the job. Still, some customers can be so insufferable, the way they are so selfish.

confrontation is the hardest thing to do especially with people who always feel entitled. but you set up a schedule, and documented so I think that was the best way to handle it!
The only way to have avoided confrontation here is to leave a warning. Like a sign by the pool saying, “If you leave your items unattended for a half hour they will be sent to lost and found.”
Exactly! You’ll still get people who complain about the policy, but informing people ahead of time makes a huge difference
Bruh people complain about wearing masks when theres a deadly virus ravaging the world. You think they gone read or give a fuck about sum sign.
The Breakdown this is a much, MUCH less controversial issue than wearing masks. You can’t really compare the two
They should just make chairs you can reserve, but have it cost $5 per chair
M.C.Honey Rose I get what he’s saying, but I don’t think they are even comparable. There is so much more complexity to the mask/social distancing issue.
And as you can tell from Adande’s story, people definitely did care about getting their stuff removed by the pool staff. The act of him taking their stuff (albeit, without warning) resulted in the vast majority of people following the rules thereafter, which shows that people do take that seriously.
"IS THERE A MANAGER I CAN TALK TO?"
everybody: "karen is that u?"
I usually say: "yes, it's me, how can I help you?", and usually my manager was okay with this cause they won't be bothered for stupid stuff.
I feel like this is why most pool places have signs that say "we are not responsible for lost or stolen items" I also would not be brave enough to leave my headphones out for hours. people are wild lol
I would've just made signs that said: "seats left for more than 30 minutes will be cleared".

hey sWooZie tell your animators that they are very skilled i love the how the characters move and how smooth the animation is
The best part is that these people really think people won't steal or move their stuff themselves.
And when people complain you just say, "it was left for more than 30 minutes, so it was considered abandoned."
It's crazy that management wasn't on board with this. All they have to do is agree to a new policy of 30 min abandonment. Then the guests who actually want to use the pool during the day don't get upset that the pool deck is empty with no chairs.
Who’s disliking these videos? People who remember their items being moved to the towel hut years ago?

“A brave man is someone who faces their fears; a fearless man has none” -haven’t even watched a minute into the video but here something to know
TBH, this is a decent system. Just needed to log what was left on the chairs, then keep everything grouped together.
As someone who works for retail, it is horrible how we have to follow the rule ‘customers are always right’ :|
As a supervisor, lol nope. If they're wrong, they're wrong. I'll do what I can to assist/fix the problem, but I don't subscribe to that philosophy. And if they get hostile, I will have them removed.
Karen’s be like: LeT mE tAlK tO yOUr mAnAgEr
My old manager would say " yeah that's not actually a real rule, it's something people heard on television and decided it should be true, I think that show was SpongeBob".
Whoever made that "rule" obviously never dealt with them.
@@AnimeWolf5193 the rule isn't meant to be all encompassing. It originally meant if the customer wants to buy a product from you, and you don't currently sell it, you should acquire it to sell to them in the future. ie, department stores adding new products.
Lol so true. People be taking sticky notes and going around like “Savesies”, “too bad first come first served”
Dam the confrontational issues are relatable. Also, who leaves stuff unattended like that, I'd be so feared of my stuff getting stolen
I totally get that but I think some of it was just towels which is generally provided by the resort. The ppl leaving purses and stuff tho😐😬

NGL, If I were a lifeguard and did as swoozie did and someone pulled a "you lost a very expesive belonging of mine that I clearly made up to get you in trouble"
I honestly would lie soooo much like.
Damn good idea. Also great profile picture.

The next day we saw her again but I’m glad she didn’t notice us.

I’m in a minor position of “power” in retail and look twelve. Blessings upon the inventor of the clipboard, giving power to the powerless
As someone not living in the US, it’s super weird to me that the hotel would be responsible for stuff that people left out and just expected to not disappear.
In Mexico, if you leave something unattended, it getting stolen is just a “duh” situation.
Exactly. I mean, whose to say that someone came and stole that item they claimed were missing. It’s what you get for leaving it unattended
I live in the UK and you'd pretty much have to PISS on your stuff to stop people taking it and even that would be no guarantee lol
I live in the US and I never leave anything I own unattended. These people are just rich, entitled, and ignorant.
From someone living in the US, trust, they're a certain type of person. Not everybody is as trusting or expects such luxury
nah bro everyone steals stuff at waterparks
2:28 he literally got young don the Sauce God to say that lol

Imagine if Swoozie would have taken a picture of their stuff and then hearing them complain about missing something.
