Rick, the original series “Vikings” about Ragnar Lothbrook is one of the best series I’ve watched. Definitely give it a chance. Also The Last Kingdom was also a brilliant series too
It is a 10kg gasbottle (net contents). 3-4 days in wintery conditions seems about right…..this type of bottle is seethrough. Hold a pocket light befind the bottle and you Can see the gas level clearly…easy to monitor.
Jaysis I’m dumbfounded. I never thought Iceland had so much to offer. Absolutely beautiful country. Mind you £55 for 5 crepes… eh, no thanks 😮. Rick’s scrambled eggs and fried potatoes looked bangin. I’m in Ireland 🇮🇪 and I’d say I’m 🥶 colder than you. I’m really enjoying this trip. Only for Rick and yourself I’d never get to see such beauty. Of course I mean you not just the scenery 🤣🤪🤣. Seriously though. Thanks 🙏 for sharing with us. Only for you I’d never see it because I’m too old and I’ve bad health. I’ve also said it before. You have a beautiful family. 👍
So much to offer, and way more than we covered. We'd love to come back one day. Maybe even in our lorry. Thankyou for watching from Ireland 🇮🇪 Hope you've had a great weekend!
I remember the eruption of the vulcano a few years back, i was with my 3 sisiters on holiday in America / florida just on our way to the airport for flying back, at the airport they said no flyts out to europe voor at least a week, that got us a extra week holiday 🙂
@@Touringwiththekids Yes it was, no nothing to complain with a extra week vacation. Got the hole week paid all cost (was in the insurens) and my boss did not let me turn in extra vacation days.. Not my faulth he said.
It would be a really good idea to fit a diesel powered heater there really efficient and the gas could become a secondary backup Richard.👍.Great video guys i remember watch Eamon and Bec few years ago now just before covid stuff in iceland beautifull place.Enjoy guys 🙂
Cold temperatures will seriously affect your gas. Think that's a 10lt bottle - so that's kind of what I'd expect if you've got the heating going a lot and the outside temp is really low.
Good night Kirea and Rich and the kids I love watching your you tube videos on tyiur you tube channel I hope all of you are well and enjoying all of your adventures aboard in your camper van please all keep safe and well please keep up your work on your you tube channel
I love watching your videos all the wonderful places you take us but the iceland videos have been amazing the scenery the lights in the sky plus little Teddy walking up all the stairs at the waterfall the kids are very lucky to see such wonderful places with you both memories to treasure. Cheers Dianne Australia
Loving your Icland Vlogs, such a beautiful place 😍 YES! KEEP WATCHING VIKINGS!! My husband and I have watched it twice. If it's the same one with Ragnar and Lagatha , it's well worth it xx
Amazing and thank you for sharing, what an incredible experience. I have 19 litre underslung. In summer it is mainly just the oven and lasts 3 months or more. In winter with 2 to 3 hours heating a day it lasts about 19 days so a litre a day. Heating really runs through the gas sadly.
You asked for comments about gas consumption. We have a 7.5m Autotrail coachbuilt and can easily go through a 6kg propane cylinder in less than a week during winter, when we tend to leave the fridge and water heater on gas when off-grid and the heating is on whenever we're in the van.
WOW! What a trip!! Than you for taking us with you. Google says the Vikings were originally from Scandinavia(present day Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Viking Valhalla mentions Greenland aswell! We enjoyed another series about The Vikings on Netflix which we binge-watched during the pandemic. I think if I had the cash to fly and then hire a campervan it would have to be America 🇺🇸 I’ve always wanted to visit the Wild West. ❤
The Glacers r fantastic , never heard of black sand , poor Teddy didn’t run fast enough and got wet , strange to hear the rock making that noise , the children coats & hats look lovely and warm thanks for the scenery 👏👏👏👏👏❤️
Hi Guy's, Wow, what a trip. Stunning scenery a proper bucket list job.😊 Nice to see you coped in the van, once home the lorry will seem like Palace 👍. Looking forward to the next vlog, we believe you are Chirk 😮. Take care and travel safe 🙏. Paul and Joanne 👍 😍
We actually had a flight when the Icelandic volcano erupted from Brisbane back to the UK. We got stuck in Australia for another 2 weeks. Loved this video
Oh Wow ! , guys best yet !!! Ric, you said it.......phenomenal !!! Thank you so much for sharing, never new Iceland had so much to offer . Your children will hopefully revisit in years to come to see if we have slowed down the damage us humans bring to our beautiful world . I hope so ! Love your spirit guys. Fantastic educators 👌
I always fancied going to Iceland but you’ve saved me a fortune on this one as I won’t be paying their prices. Your cinematography was excellent Done Iceland via your vlog. Best wishes.
If your in extremely cold environments gas doesn't work or last as long due to the vapour of the gas it needs a higher temperature to produce the vapours you need
Hi Beautiful Family, have Caught up watching all your vids, thoroughly enjoyed each one. Now I am just watching a young women who's name is Becky on her you tube Channel it's, Girl Outdoors. And thought you might like to watch it. As she is Riding a bike peddle power, the length of Iceland, and i saw how much you loved it their. Wishing you all a very good journey wherever you go stay safe and have wherever you go. A MOST EXCELLENT ADVENTURE.🤗🖖🚚
Loving the photo's within the video. Amazing scenery. Just beautiful. Also, if you put a thermal jacket on the gas bottle during cold weather it lasts longer.
Hi guys. Just wonderful scenery ❤ We’ve just finished Vikings - Valhalla but we watched Vikings, the original series first. Both are very good and well made but I think we preferred Vikings overall. It very much sets the scene for Valhalla and we became very invested in the characters. Worth hanging in there I’d say. Hugs Sharon & Si x
Im using two bottles that size running fridge heat cooking two weeks this time of year in uk but ive got gaslow refilable bottles fitted so it only cost 20 squid a fortnight
Hi Love the videos I’m a Motorhomer 7kg bottle 2/3 days full use heating in winter 10kg 3/4 possibly 5 at a push in full use So your bottle is about right
Your gas consumption is totally normal, if running the whole time... Your Gasbay therefor takes two bottles... Wich - by the way - are plastic bottles wich only has 10 Kilos Gas... Metal ones has 11kg ;-) Keep enjoying your life - greetings from germany
When you hear the phrase "Tip of the iceberg" and you see up close those, what are quite small icebergs and realise that 7/8 of it's mass is below the water, awesome.
Looks like a 10kg cylinder, similar to the BP & Safefill cylinders. To empty in 4 days is quite possible if the heating is on a lot and temperatures are near 0⁰C.
Before you reach a new country or region do you make sure that the children learn as much as much as they can about the geography and people they can as part of their plans?
It looks like a 13Kg bottle. There push fit as well with the cold etc im wondering wether you can smell fart!? in the bottle cupboard i mean!? Try some vasaline around the black O'ring. Who tested the van your in right now? Importantly Is any one felling tired, Sleepy or sick ? etc that is unusual!? Stay safe

Rick,
The last Kingdom on Netflix is a brilliant Viking series to binge.
I think that was a Beautiwul rock too!! 🤩
I love the wall builder choosing rocks from a rock covered beach 😊
He was in his element there, if it wasn't so cold he would have happily played all day x
Just, wow
❤️🥰
Hi sorry we just now glimpsed the dog, but we hadn’t noticed since you crossed over. Enjoy your time guys ❤❤❤❤

If it’s around 4-5c outside this one will last 4-6 days depending on how warm you want it to be in the camper. It’s a 10liter (pc10)
Yeah it's a different type of gas to what we are used to. Our LPG tank lasts AGES!
😮 amazing! There's less ice than I thought there'd

I’m a Motorhomer
7kg bottle 2/3 days full use heating in winter
10kg 3/4 possibly 5 at a push in full use
So your bottle is about right
Thanks for watching. Yeah It's just a different gas to what we are used to x
rick vikings is the best one i often binge on it
Was the tube really full when you got the car?
It's a 10kg gas tube so should have lasted a bit longer than that
I remember i was the volcano i was in uk visiting my kids i had extra days before i could fly back to spain
Hey, is the fridge running on the gas as well ???
I was on a cruise in the Med when the volcano erupted, it was April 2010
HI Ric did you know they found America before anyone else read about Valhalla and read about America when it was founded by everyone

9:37 the extraordinary cold makes a difference to what you get out of a gas bottle.
I've subscribed.
Stick with Vikings, its amazing
Hi family with Children. What has happened to your lovely dog. It went everywhere with you, and you made a bed ❤❤❤???
Looks like a 10kg cylinder, similar to the BP & Safefill cylinders. To empty in 4 days is quite possible if the heating is on a lot and temperatures are near 0⁰C.
Yeah makes sense 👍
did you fly into Keflavik? Just wondering how you got from the airport to the camper rental?

could you let me know what campsite you stayed at after the glacier lagoon if you can remember the name? thankyou!
Before you reach a new country or region do you make sure that the children learn as much as much as they can about the geography and people they can as part of their plans?
We try our best to incorporate it. Before we came to Iceland we did a couple of lessons on volcanoes and timelines 👍
My Father sailed to Iceland on a trawlers from Fleetwood & Hull, an retired just before
The cod wars started in 1972
Ric when jack being like that why don't you send him up the hill for pail of water pmsl
Stick with vikings rick it gets better and better 😊
Did well to get 4 days out of that size bottle 🇮🇸
Ah that's alright then 👍 We thought it was odd, but that's probably because we're used to our LPG
Stay safe
No wonder it's getting hotter and there's more destructive weather 4:09
Is the parking cash or Card at all the attractions? Many thanks
I think we paid card everywhere x
A gas bottle that size for 4 days in cold weather is about right
If you get extremely high consumption, the gas may freeze in the bottle…if that happens, take it indoor for an hour and reconnect.
That's perfectly the norm if your heating with gas on a Truma heating system doesn't last 5 minutes!!
Is your van a rental because its left hand drive it should be right hand drive.
Yes its an Indie Campers rental 👍
600 years old 🤔 unbelievable yep your probably right lol.....
