    With the empty forge template, you can put something into them (Like a ship) and make the other types of forge templates that you already know of. But you need to find a planet with Industrial Ruins, colonize it and restore the ruins. It also has to be a specific ruin (I can't remember which one).

    26:30 - Upgrade your starport to a mega starport (costs money).
    32:50 - Keep it. I forget which event they're for, but you can eventually download ship blueprints onto them. If you find one with a blueprint already there, you might run into an exploration event that will build the ship on the spot (if you have it in your inventory).
    33:50 - Drugs aren't always illegal. The faction you're at (Dassault) doesn't consider them so and sells them on the open market. Check the faction screen to see what a given faction considers contraband and subject to seizure should a patrol board you.
    34:08 - 8 credits for ore is normal, and not a great return after taxes. Go to a planet that has a surplus if you want to buy in bulk. Buy low, sell high. The merchants motto.
    35:54 - Yep, not much of a profit since the price goes down as you sell off cargo (which reduces price per unit). If you want to really play the trading game, you need a big transport in your fleet and pick up valuable surplus goods as you go, selling them when you're near a planet with a demand when you come to them. Also look in bars for trade contracts, they're a guaranteed good return *if you have the cargo space to take them*. Just check if the destination belongs to a hostile faction which would complicate completing the contract.
    43:35 - As I said: Trade contracts found in bars. Check out Sseth's Starsector review if you haven't seen it already, he mentions them.
    Also, storypoint upgrade to planetary structures costs 2 story points and doubles in costs every use at that colony (2, then 4, then 8, etc). Upgrade that way in moderation.
    If you want a planet to use it's stockpile to prevent shortages, you have to click the "use stockpiles during shortages' button on your colony screen (upper right side).

    32:54 in my opinion you should have kept the lamp and sold it to a world that was cold the ai of other factions will install it on the planet thus making them have a higher demand for volatiles this means that you can start selling that planet volatiles for high amounts of cash.

    Ship Name - Large Freighter "Edmond Fitzgerald" I did recommend this on the other playthrough as well. Would love to see that name used. Keep up the great vids!

    Free port increases accessibility which increases your income, therefore build upgrade space port into a megaport for more money.
    As for your battleship construction, the price limitations is essentially that month budget. You go over budget and you just pay that month's full budget but the ship isn't going to be built yet until you finished paying it off. So you have a 150k budget and the ship is 450k so you'll have to pay 150k every month for 3 month then you get your ship.

    For quick trading money I run either guns, supplies, or food. There is almost always a station that is missing demand goals and another that is producing excess. If you can do fast low profit runs inside the sector, you will make more money then trying for a big run cross sector.
    In the end, you may simply find that savaging war zones will earn you just as much without having to put on your accountant hat. There's derelicts and debris fields everywhere, and if you run light, you'll be a multi millionaire in no time.

    One thing I like about the early game pirate bases is that they have miserably low security. You can raid them a bunch of times without having to care about decivilizing a potential future colony.

    A good way to kill some time and make money is look around bars for military contacts (especially with factions you want to have good relations with) and also keep an eye out for operatives too (shady person).

    Since Pirates are you nemesis, this means that would include the Cabal and the Legion Infernalis since they are both Pirate factions. Yet Im not sure if the flat start also made the Legion Infernalis neutral

      The legio infernalis used ot sue for peace as soon as possible in most of my games, nowadays though i barely notice them even if hostile since they allready have so many enemies.

    "Stripper joke here"
    Also obligatory planet name suggestion:
    Elysia for a lush terran world
    Maelstrom for a water world
    Pile o' Dust for a barren world

      Edit after watching:
      Smugglers are NOT pirates! Pirates are stealing and looting, whilst smugglers are evading theft erm tarrifs and taxes! "Throws some tea in the harbour for good measure!"

    I would not recommend flying around with the nano-forge. Put it in storage until you are ready to install it on a world with no atmosphere. Don't want to lose it if your fleet happens to get wiped...

    Do not engage dominators at close range and possibly, do it from the side.
    Range and positioning is the winning card in the battle.

    The thing about the Simulation Engine (which you add onto a supercomputer) is that you can pair it with Klepka Simulators on a very cold planet in order to make a self-sufficient AI core farm. It's actually really really good if you play your cards right, as the supercomputer can either improve income or reduce upkeep, depending on what kind of AI cores you feed it, and can apply to multiple planets with the simulation engine.
    The only downside is pissing off the Hegemony (but then again who doesn't?) and manually feeding the cores to the computer every so often (it queues up in a special tab). Been working wonders for me, slap an improvement and alpha on a Klepka and you'll be getting an extra Alpha every couple months.

      problem is, the Kletka (how TF do you spell this??) Simulators aren't from Ind.Evo, they are from Terraforming And Station Construction (the one that provides Domain Artifacts). Which Timo doesn't have installed.
      Yeah, I had to be reminded about this myself. By a tooltip in the mods themselves. Apparently, that's a common mistake to make.

    • @dragonsmash3r
      @dragonsmash3r Год назад

      @@onevillageidiot ah. That explains a lot. My bad, my bad. Now that I think about it, the ability to generate AI cores and shove them back into the system is pretty overpowered stuff.

    The income loss you saw from removing freeport was because it dropped accessibility to the point that you were no longer able to export everything, as well as directly reducing market share across the board.
    The smuggling income isn't really significant without light industry to mass produce drugs.

  • @jasonellis9434
    @jasonellis9434 Год назад +1

    Hey, I posted a comment on your last UAF video about a money making strategy but I noticed you don't have access to the Kletka simulator, you only have the supercomputer and sense that the case if I were you I would go an get those rich ore plants you found in the first video and build mining and refining on them.

  • @MichaelAppleman
    @MichaelAppleman Год назад +1

    The difference with the freeport is also due to the increased accessibility.

    If you want to dabble into trading I recommend the stellar network mod, it allows you to browse the current market price of all commodities
    Oh also the pirates will appear even if you disable free port, they are just random bar NPC quests and you can't really choose which faction comes to your colony. I had a couple ludd church and hegemony peps coming over at the bar and I'm at war with them
    Edit: not sure if Stellar network is safe to add mid-game or not, never tried it cuz I start with it

    I guess Crystal was so expensive you couldnt afford her no matter how much you worked, so you had to turn off her lights.
    Also Eternety tricked you to deposit all your resources into her and instead of any benefit you where stuck with an empty storage.
