Akatsuzuma ships was MVP in this episode, that ships armament was correct, far range attack to compensate what their are lacking in attack skill, good movement speed ships is so decent to see in a fight.
The AI will absolutely go all in on an oversextended ship with prejudice. Unless your ship is fast it is best to stay with the pack no matter what you're flying.
Yeah, that's something that bothers me as well about the UAF, missions that are on the OTHER side of the map. I'd say that's not a problem, but the fuel and supplies cost is bigger than what the bounty offers. That aside, from personal experience, my suggestion for flanking ships would be the Nakiha series frigates. With the right guns, those things slap. And, if you wanna be sure that as few enemies survive the chase, you need to slab a defensive point (shield?!) just above the center of the map. Doing this means the frigates will stall the enemy long enough for the rest of your fleet to catch up.
The problem is that missions get generated from the core as reference. Then again this is all Timos fault for being lazy and not starting the game by storing his combat ship away, snagging a small UAF tanker and then going all around the sector activating gates.
That Akatsuzuma "Suggestion 5" should be renamed the "Perseverance" cuz it was getting overwhelmed there a few times but held up, MVP of that last battle.
The UAF doctrine relies a lot on long range ballistic warfare when it comes to fighting with equal hull size ships, and only going in when their support fighters are striking. The way you fit that Akatsuzuma was perfect! That was a good fight to watch. Either having even more frigate or have at least one big carriers would really help your fleet out from here.
Low tech -> weak shields, high armor High tech -> strong shields, low armor Pirates = Low Tech Hence you need some anti armor to peel their armor off. Thats why their ships feel tanky to you. I have my Rillaru equipped with Reapers for once I overload their shields. (Cant put breves in all slots)
I know you take command of the action when the enemy fleet is retreating cause this is a let's play, and you need to show game play, but just for reference I never take command when the enemy retreats. If they retreat, you're way over them, and you can just order your second in command to do the assault. The reason is that you'll not catch as many as if you let the machine decide the outcome (which 9/10 will end up catching most if not all the ships). But in a let's play, I do understand this decision. Also, you can just use command points to direct your fleet at any point, remember those. P.s.: Long range loadouts on slower ships are always a good choice. On point decision. Gotta work on your battlefield awareness though, got caught without escorts in the middle of the battle away from your main fleet.
Congatulations on keeping up the shields of your armored ship, not using its ability for more dps and reduced flux usage and for flying into the mids of the enmy instead of keeping a line.
Those that dont respect the Osela Explorer as a flag ship dont deserve to live! Im not joking, its actually a funny flag ship vs fighter based enemies.
Use the buddy system. Always pair up your ships. You have classic tunnel vision when you pilot. It’s something that comes from experience so just keep piloting and you’ll learn how to manage the bigger picture better. Never give up! Never surrender! 😊
If that Minoria continues to let ships go and being useless. I nominate that ship to be named "Sakura is a useless character" or "Sakurafansdon'texist"
If you right duble click on the deployment screen you can use Frigates to flank the retreating enemy so that they dont escape. Edit: Oh you actually knew it.
the railguns are good and flux consumtion is ok because the firerate isn´t that high as long you don´t fire all weapons on the ship at the same time mix it with rockets and your fine and your extra cargo comes from your skill . the rilaru SP and porcelyra M are really good ships you can look forward to
if the enemy is just a bunch of small ship you can try detaching yourself from the fleet and force them to engage with your finest solo ship (it's a trap) lol
If you are experimenting with different weapon loadouts you are unfamiliar with, I recommend running a simulation with them to see what they do before you actually pay for something you might not like.
I know you know this, but when doing those long missions, its worth dipping into systems on the way just to see if they have Gates.. so later its faster to travel around.. Just like having a few in the core system, so when you get a mission up that way.. its 1 hop.. (you know all this) lol
@@TimoRedbeard yw! You're just as excited as I was when I first started playing a couple of years ago, and it makes for good, high-energy demonstrations. Also, have you done the "a promise" quest chain from secrets of the frontier yet? Its a wild ride, and a very fun mod. I saw someone start that chain the other day so thought I'd ask
Okay I know we're nowhere near getting our own planet yet but what are we naming this run's faction? The UAF is United Auroran Federation right, so what are we? The Not-united Auroran Federation?
I'm pretty new to the UAF mod, what is that unguided rocket barrage weapon that the long range ship was using in the big fight at the end of the video?
Honestly you only lost the ship you were flying is due to you not really looking at its health and flux. You were doing really good untill the rush you did.

Yeeeeeaaaaah. Ooooh, defensive point just above the centre is smart!
The "Drunk Juliet" . As drunk as Timo for calling Freighter a Tanker.
HAHAHAHA LISTEN.. I.. have no excuse.

Good day timo. What a good day to drink some (sindrian) gfuel
the new spearhead gunship is amazing if you wanna go with the carrier again, very highly recommend.

The Osela is an amazing vessel.
Anti-Capital -> large bullets with long reload time

I wish there was a way to actually order them into pairs, cause the escort orders get so janky so often.

It's best to not vent in the middle of combat because you take extra damage while doing so.
Now that your no longer a carriers only fleet Timo you can spam as many semibreves as possible

Added to the list!
I know people get angry that "you," don't pilot the ships. But honestly I prefer the A.I. They can just generally do better than a player can.
