Vietnamese is closer to Thai than to Korean. Both Vietnamese and Thai are tonal languages and share some similarities. Korean is an agglutinative language, which means that words gets parts attached to create different meanings. Culturally, all three are quite different, I'd say.
And the adventures begin. The much to do going forward, settling in and acclimating. You’ll have much to vlog to keep busy with, but don’t let that overwhelm you. A quick note to let us know you’re doing okay and just need some time is okay to do. I and many others are all rooting for your success. Lots of love ❤❤

Looked a really long journey for you both glad you got sorted and into your apartment. I'd never get the allowance right in my case I'd have great difficulty parting with stuff and leaving it behind my heart went out to Thanh it must be hard for him leaving it all behind. I am moving abroad in a few months too , honestly scared and panicking , but cant show it, because my parents are already worried and they think that am i not mature enough to live alone and too in a diff country. But you guys are actually calming me down. Take care guys. Love you❤❤❤
Aww, glad we could calm you down a bit. Honestly, I've done this twice (moving to Vietnam and back to Germany were both "new" countries for me), and it's doable. Watching this as I am planning to return back to Czechia after many years in Japan so that I can be with my bf. Seeing how you are getting rid of things is very relatable 😂 I wonder if either or both of you will end up missing life in Asia or if you would consider moving back should Vietnam recognize gay marriage some day in the future.
That's a big move! We certainly know how this feels. Good question. We might move back at some point. But I think it's not just the gay marriage that needs to be recognised. Things like conditions for me as a foreigner need to improve vastly (and they have been moving backwards recently, instead of improving), pollution and quality of life are issues (at least in the big cities), and several other, smaller issues. Nevertheless, there are many good sides about the life in Vietnam, and it is possibly that we return at some point.

Thank you so much, Richard! ❤ The flight was about 11 hours pure flying time, with lots of time before and after. Including the stay in Frankfurt, our entire journey took probably something like 50 hours (that is, until we reach our new apartment). We're now living in North Germany, close to Hamburg.

My wife felt the same way and i think sometimes still does eti🫂 its hard for real being apart from all you know and she felt like she was taking me from them. Not going to lie it's sometimes still hard for me but at the end of the day It was the best decision for us for me to be here in this new place with her🥰 so much beauty and adventures in this country for me, it's amazing and I wouldn't change it still😊 haha my language isn't great in german so I haven't made any new friends here really but hopefully one day I can actually hold more conversations easier in german to make friends 🫠🤣🤙🏽 and thanh will get used to that window opening eventually too👀🤣🤙🏽 it took me a bit to figure it out too🤣🤣

On the other hand, I see that Thanh is slowly discovering things... about this country, but also about himself, and I think that's something really great! It's really sad to see Thanh leaving his friends and family especially his father but I guess it's inevitable because being together with your husband is crucial if you get married, otherwise there isn't any point at all

Bei uns ist es mittlerweile über 20 Jahre her. Ja es ist wirklich schade, dass Vietnam die Ehe bzw. Lebenspartnerschaft nicht anerkennt für eine Aufenthaltserlaubnis. Ich bin gerne in Vietnam. Wir versuchen die Winterzeit dort zu verbringen und Rest dann wieder in Deutschland. Bin aber auch zuversichtlich, dass sich zukünftig die Gesetze an die gesellschaftliche Entwicklung anpassen werden. Euch Beiden einen schönen Start in Deutschland.
