    Michael Clarke, Defence Analyst
    Roger Boyes, The Times Diplomatic Editor

Previous to becoming speaker, he voted no on aid to Ukraine, and then waited while Ukrainians paid with their lives, because the former president told him to. I’m still very glad it got done and hope that he will continue to work in a bipartisan way to make some other progress. Too bad repubs voted down, for example, the toughest legislation on the brdr in modern history because the former president told them not to. Check it out. Discovered you can fly a light aircraft remotely? People have been doing such things for decades. In fact, the British were doing this as early as 1941. These were target drones. The switch from target drones to offensive weapons is actually quite trivial.
    So, this is not something new the Ukrainians are doing. They are having to innovate because of restrictions on using western supplied equipment in attacking Russian territory. In addition, the use of drones as one way delivery systems is not something the US typically has done. The US has provided some "suicide" drones, but these are typically short range. The US would typically use something like a cruise missile. These are much harder to defend against, since they do not rely on a data link to an operator. On the other hand, it seems like this is not an issue against Russia.

  • @thomasborgsmidt9801
    @thomasborgsmidt9801 Месяц назад

    Those light aircraft are probably not discovered, because the russian radar filters out targets moving slowly. It might be the range gauge that can't believe it is the same radar target because it hasn't moved enough since the last sweep. Secondly they are probably under the radar horisont for much of the distance. Under 1500-2000 feet they can't see it 50 miles away. There is a minimum angle for traditional radar to avoid getting radar returns from buildings and trees.

      I find that interesting since the US picks up ballons that fly slow, and track air traffic of small private planes like the Cessna. I'm sure Russians can to....I think you're right about the height/distance factor though
