Carmax offers cheap offer for your car. When I read some comments in here, I feel like these comments come from the Carmax’ advertisement team.
This comment is a champion of the people!
haha liked and subbed, yep had me at the teenage tears...........2010 Ford Escape, 350,000 miles,
going to Car-Max. To detail or do not detail is the question? Ventura, CA. Detail definition is home garage with neighbors son.
Going to follow up on your Trilogy. Hope your channel grows and teenagers cry buckets to rivers. God bless, family, country and your channel.
Two years ago, I went to have my Nissan Frontier appraised at Carmax. They offered me $8,000. I turned it down. Yesterday I went back to Carmax for another appraisal on my Frontier with almost 100,000 miles and they offered me $10,500. I accepted. The KBBV on my Frontier was $8,600. I was happy. Tip: when they ask you how much are you expecting, just say you don't know.
i have car for sell
Great tip
Oh yea! They’re great. In less than a month they gave a $7400 offer on my 2009 Tacoma. They followed up with $2800 offer on a Honda Pilot which I’ve never owned. They followed up with a $600 offer on the same Tacoma. Called for an explanation and the said it was a typo so my offer is at $6000. I paid $400 to have a vehicle shipped here and I’m going to call it a loss and go to a dealer. I’ll get a better trade in price, I’ll get a better interest rate and I can’t get an anymore screwed up situation. “There online offers are real offers” is bull crap I will take the time to file a complaint with the BBB and send out a demand letter. I think I fell through the cracks…
The hippopotamus song at the end
😂 👌 Thank you for this information is very insightful.
Great video, thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge! I'm going to sell my car to CarMax tomorrow and this makes me feel more prepared and confident. I want the "no hassle" experience so I think CarMax will be great.
Thanks. I've got a new car coming in June. I'll probably get rid of my current car (22 years old). And wanted to know my options. Right now it's looking like either; A - selling it to Carmax for less money, BUT hassle and less leg work. B - selling it myself for more money, BUT more hassle and more leg work.
Great video and very informative! Thank you!
Very helpful information! Thank you!
thank you, this video was really helpful!
Thank you exactly what I'm looking for I'm going to sell my car to them and wanted to know the process sounds simple enough
Great info. 👍🏿 Thank you.
Gave you a thumbs up and subscribed. I'm rooting for your success.
Thank you!!
I recently bought a Jeep from Carmax. I wish I’d seen this video first. I was potentially trading a 2013 Mazda CX-5 with Tech package including Navigation, Blindside Warning, etc. 48,000 miles, always garages, etc.
KBB indicated the trade value should be around $17,000. Carmax offered $5000 for my car. I really wanted the Jeep, because it was exactly what I wanted and met everything on my criteria list. This was the first time I’d even considered a used car since 1971.
Jeeps are basically toys and new Jeeps are outrageously expensive so I decided to buy a used Jeep if I could find what I wanted.
Carmax offer both shocked and angered me. If the deal hinged on trading my car I would have walked out and give them the bird on the way out, but that didn’t happen. I wrote a check for the Jeep and disposed of my car later.
I am pleased with the Jeep I bought. I probably paid $3000 more than the Jeep would sell for at another dealer, but it’s like new inside and out and it’s exactly what I wanted. After seeing this video I don’t think I’d ever do business with Carmax again unless I was paying cash.
I don't blame you. They are unpredictable when it comes to their offers on "trade ins." People we're getting more than they were expecting to get because of inventory shortages, but we might be getting close to that not being an issue anymore.
I just found ur channel & appreciate the perspective u offer as a former CARMAX employee!
Good for u starting ur own channel- I assume ur familiar with Mr. Beast. He suggests that creators be open to improve 1 thing with each vid.
My 2¢ is that u can make ur vids more streamline by not repeating any info. If u transcribe ur vid & review the text, it will be apparent u can delete some sentences & be more streamline.
Also, there’s never any reason to post ur home addy to sell ur own car
I was fortunate here in California over 5 years I did 3 trade ins at Carmax and each time they gave me more for my trade in then Kelley Blue Book suggested so I was happy, great video this sheds light on how they process buying a car from a customer
I've seen a manager get fired for this
thank you for your knowledge sir
Thanks for the info. Very helpful. One question, if you do the research and know of a hotter market for your vehicle, say a nice overlander Jeep JL, would it be worth selling it in that market ? Say instead of Kansas City or Dallas perhaps Denver? Thanks
Great info. Thank you.
Can I sell a leased car to carmax?
Really glad that I found your video. I'm planning to sell my 2018 Ford Focus this week. I got an online appraisal and will be going there a couple days from now. Everything's running smoothly but last week I had an engine replacement due to a technical service bulletin from Ford. It was done under warranty. Do I need to disclose this or do I just let them scour through vehicle first?
Technically, withholding information can be considered fraudulent. So I couldn't recommend you not disclose anything. But if they don't ask I don't see a reason to bring it up.
Hey bud, i went to carmax last week for a trade in. The car im interested in is currently in transit to my local carmax.. would it be possible for me to bring my current car to a different dealership. Sell it there. And thrn go ti carmax to just purchase my new vehicle when it arrives? If so i would have to sell my car the day before i make the purchase to where i have a way of transportation... or should i just trade it in with them and be on my way with it... also i had another question: do i get 24hr trail with the new car to make my final decision with car max and if i decide to opt out cN i get my current car back? Thanks just subbed!!
If I need to replace a AC compressor should I replace it before I sell it to them? How much of a price difference would it be ?
How often do people get what the carmax online quote said when coming and getting it seen in person ?
The CarMax online offer for my 2017 explorer is like 3-6k more than any other online offers I've seen. Wonder if they'll play what they offered online
As long as it's in the condition you said it is, they should honor the quote. I know they are being aggressive, and the market is really hard to gauge right now. I'd assume CarMax is making sure they secure inventory. Great time to sell a car.. not the best time to buy though.
Thanks for this video. I'm going to CarMax tomorrow to see about selling my 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid. We bought a 2024 Toyota Camry at a dealership nearby. Then when we go to the dealership to pick up my new car, I was going to ask the dealership how much for a trade in? Any thoughts to this?
How does it work if you have a POA? Also, because they are making me wait for the wet signed copy of the POA my 7 days will expire. Will they try to offer me less when I redo the appraisal in a week or so? Nothing will change on the vehicle because I am not currently driving it.
I was reversed into and the guy had no insurance my lease is up in may and i was hoping to sell it to carmax but do i need to get it fixed or will carmax still take it? It’s not a huge hit but the hood might need to be realigned there’s small gaps and new chrome grill it cracked
Do you have to go there or will they pick it up , no charge?
Thank you for this helpful video. I have a leased 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I want to sell to CarMax however I am a little confused with the whole process. Do I have to pay off the lease myself and then sell it to CarMax or does CarMax buy the lease? I pay the payments to Chrysler Capital so will they have any issues with the 3rd party lease buyout?
if they are interested, they’ll pay off the rest of the lease and pay you if the car is worth alot to them
Doing to Carmax this weekend to check out a new car, I got an trade in amount for my 2018 Ford Ecosport with 56k miles but forgot about my broken glove box from when I changed a fuse. I’m hoping they don’t take it down too much. Fingers crossed.
whats the trade in amount for the 2018 eco-sport??
@@kli2887 it was about 6k and when I checked my new car loan, around 4k was paid towards it so I’m guessing that they took the 2 as a profit maybe.
@@ShadesOfJadeOfficial I could buy out the remaining 12,500 including tax for my 2019 eco-sport w/ convenience pkg.... if i decide to sell to carvana right after....carvana online gave me a quote of 16,647. I,m on the ropes whether this is true or not.
Rule 1: Do NOT give them your home address ! Meet in a public place, the local police station being a great idea. And if you sell go to THEIR bank and get things done properly so you actually get your money. Sure Car Max wants to make money - don't YOU, too ?
Absolutely. I sell my own vehicles most of the time. This little POS Ford focus though, I might take that into carmax. That or the junkyard. See who will give me more.
I'd recommend selling yourself first, but CarMax does offer a good value for people who don't want to put up with it.
I have a oil consumption problem. And I don’t want to sell it to someone off the street. CarMax likes to lowball people. So they might just take one for the team.
@@chaselesser3191 I was thinking the same thing, they can eat a loss
when you sell a car dont you hand them the title which has your home address?
I have a Range Rover sport with an excellent body and interior. The engine has a starter issue that I don’t want to pay for. It’s a 2013 with every option but has 138,000 miles on it. Would Carmax actually consider this vehicle? They sent me a fair offer but I can’t drive it in because I haven’t fixed the starter issue.
When did carmax start giving a certain tax discount for trade ins? Because on the appraisal offers today, it states if you buy a carmax car and trade in yours, they'll give you a tax credit towards your overall purchase. Great video but was just wondering if that is new and that's why it was not mentioned. Someone I know did that and save almost $600 on taxes doing so.
Thank you for the comment. I didn't add it because I couldn't remember the exact benefit. But they were doing this tax credit while I was there. So they have been doing it for a while
I’ve sold my last to cars to carmax and both times it was a wonderful experience. Both times they gave me more than I thought. As a matter of fact the last time they gave me more than they should have. They didn’t notice the rear damage. At least that’s my experience
I just sold my 2003 Toyota Rav 4 which I purchased in November of 2002 to car max in Clermont FLorida. I got $2,000 for it. Car ran fine. Had a rear diff leak. Oil leak from the front and gas leak. Car had severe rust from being up in New York. I actually didn’t think I’d get that much to be honest. I’ll miss my car. It was good to me. But it was that time. RIP 🪦 BETSY….
Thank you!
When my appraisal value they gove me expire, does carmax keep any of my car information, car mileage, or car history in their system? Just asking if I need to do another appraisal
Quality content!
Thank you!
I have a jeep wrangler and was wondering do upgrades lower or raise the value of cars? Like original rims or upgraded rims, plastic fenders vs metal, etc.
It’s lowers the value of your Jeep. Take it off and put the original parts back on.
What about online? If they have you one online can I just go forward or do they still have to look at it
Thanks for the video! I do have a question though- my car was appraised at more than what the loan is which means I will be getting money back. Do you know how that works? Will they pay me the difference right there on the spot or do they have to pay the loan first and then give me the rest after? And do you know typically how long it takes them to pay off the loan?
Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure you walk out with a check of the remaining balance and don't have to wait until the bank holding your loan is paid. I haven't worked there in a while so things may have changed. But you should be able to leave your car and walk out with a check while they take care of the remaining balance with the bank behind the scenes.
I am having to front the money to pay the balance of the loan because my loan company has refused to interact with CarMax in any way. So I will have to pay the loan, wait two weeks for the account to close out, wait another four to six weeks for them to report the lien as paid to the DMV, then wait an additional two weeks for a paper title from the DMV.
NOT Carmax's fault, but my loan company happens to be business partners with CARMAX, so I have no idea why things must be done this way. Carmax finance people say theyve never seen it befpre, and couldnt get help beyond that
Love this info...
Quick question.....
If I owe more than the offer....do I pay carmax or the finance company the difference?
Great question. If you don't mind I'm going to use this question in my next video. The answer is:
You pay CarMax the remaining balance. And it needs to be certified funds. Either cashier check, debit card, or cash.
My Nissan dealer lowballed me with an offer of 26k. 😂 Carmax offered me 31k. Bye-bye Nissan. Good riddance.
Hi, I would like to know if carmax keeps your written apprisal on record for more than 7 days or within the 7 days(I guess)? Also, if a dealership is in partnership with carmax, does that mean the dealership can use the carmax algorithm or system to appraise? Or can they see carmax's inside records?
I don't know about their algorithm or partnerships, but I'm sure they'll be able to pull up your appraisal up out of some database for years to come.
I am getting my car sold to carvana this coming week. If they say no or make me mad ill just keep it.
Low ball is a perfect term. The online appraisal tool says $17K for my truck. NADA for my truck rough trade in is $22k lol retail is $28k. I’ve checked out multiple trucks that are same year same mileage and they are listed for $30k. They would make $10k on my truck if i bent over and took their offer.
But then some people are getting thousands over MSRP. It’s weird.
It’s all value driven. If its a popular car they know they can move fast, they will make a great offer on it.
@@theNebrAlien Yes, I agree AND the Carmax voucher I received was accepted at a Toyota dealer as cash! The Toyota dealer had a new Corolla at $3k less than the same car with lower trim level that I test drove at Carmax. Also I received a Ford recall notice on the car I just sold to Toyota! I dodged a bullet on that one. A recall will certainly drop the value of any trade in . This is common with all models of Ford or Lincoln cars.
Most dealership will haggle - and the day and time and even month you go in matters a lot. I'd guess AutoNation and CarMax, because they are more corporate, won't haggle as much.
Question: Should I even bother with detailing the car or anything like that before getting it appraised. I mean my Honda Element is a 2005 and it has nearly 200k miles on it...so I don't want to waste money making it look pretty if its not going to make any difference.
I don't believe that paying for a detail would add enough value to cover the cost of getting it done. I would just try to clean what you can for as cheap as possible. The less stains, rips and chips, the more valuable your car is.
Imported my own car from Canada when moved to US. Have all the import paperwork. Now trying to sell my car in US. Carmax is asking for an import sticker. I don't know what that is. Any idea?
Carmax tried to low ball me for my BMW. 5-7k under the KBB value. I'll be selling it privately or going to another dealer.
Everything you say is true. Love Carmax. I was at a Toyota dealer looking for a new 2022 Corolla. The salesman told me that I would get more money on a trade in by Going to Carmax. He also added an additional $9,000 "market" price to the MSRP of every car on his lot. I drove to Carmax and it was an excellent experience. NO salesman lying! I had already received a few offers on my trade-in so i had a general idea of what it was worth. The "market price adjustment" from most new car dealers prevented me from buying. I am a cash buyer and know the pain of "market prices". Writing a check for $9k for the right to buy a car? No Way. Carmad appraised my car and gave me a voucher that could be used for cash or apply to my Carmax purchase. I found a very low miles 2022 Corolla and test drove it and was almost ready to buy when I checked one more Toyota dealer. This dealer sold at MSRP and no markups. I bought a higher trim model new car at 3K lower than the Carmax price on a low miles new car. This dealer accepted my Carmax voucher as cash on my purchase so it was a Win WIn Win for all concerned. Now for the really nice part. I handed over the pink slip, keys and the car to the new dealer and bought my new Corolla using the Carmax voucher and my check . Within one week I got a letter from Ford that my Ford Focus just had yet another factory recall! Too bad Toyota dealer! I was wondering why I got a high ball offer from Carmax for my "trade-in". You explained it! The Dealer I bought my trade in was next door. The largest Ford Dealer in the area had higher prices than anyone in the area which boosted the "value" of my Ford Focus. Good riddance to the Ford and the Ford Focus.
Best way to trade or sell. Is to go online and put in your vehicles vin number. List the condition and mileage. The carmax algorithm will spit out a price. That price is going to be higher than what the appraiser on the lot will want to give you. Take that price to the stealership and they will honor it. That algorithm can’t see if the vehicle needs tires,or has a cracked windshield,or has a few cracks in the dashboard. A onsite appraiser will see theses imperfections and low-ball you.
I heard the most they can offer is 200,000 for any model
I just got a great offer from carmax. I paid my car off in March, but haven’t received the title yet from Toyota. My offer expires in 4 days… am I screwed without the title or do you think they’ll work with me?
What if I already apprised it online? Would it benefit me to let the online appraisal expire, then go in for an in person appraisal? Want to make sure I maximize my sale. (2019 Honda Civic Sport)
Not sure on that one. The market changes weekly. They could offer more, or less. Odds are they will simply keep it close to your original appraisal
@@theNebrAlien thank you for your response!
My car has an overheating issue but 2 mechanics worked on my car and could not diagnose the problem. I am planning to take my car to Car Max for an appraiser. I am between being %100 clear and telling them what I experienced or letting them do their job and find the issue. But I am concerned about what if they do not find the issue during the inspection and they notice after they pay me. Are there any liabilities after they purchased my car?
Can you please give me an advise? Thank you
They will probably ask you something along the lines of “Are there any mechanical issues that you know of?” I’m the type of person that would not have a problem not saying anything about the mechanical issue. If it were me, I would definitely let them do their job and not mention it. It all just depends on how comfortable you are doing that. The odds are likely that they wouldn’t pursue any liabilities after the purchase was already made as your car will likely go straight to auction. But, I can’t speak confidently on that. I am not aware of Carmax’s is legal process.
@@theNebrAlien Thanks for the advise. Have a good night
@@theNebrAlien Happened with me. If in doubt, SELL it to CARMAX and let them deal with the hassles that You know in your mind are no longer yours. Bye hooptie car. Hello, this is a great video. Not sure if I missed it but will CarMax purchase leased vehicles? 13 months left on the lease? Thank you for helping us all out.
They will buy leased cars, but some dealerships won't let them buy it. So it really depends on where you got the car and if they will let CarMax buy it
And thank you for the comment!
@@theNebrAlien Hmmm so I have to see if Jaguar dealership will object. Ok got it, thank you
@@theNebrAlien Your welcome
Subaru, Volkswagen/Audi, Land Rover/Jaguar, and FCA (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, etc.) are basically the only ones CarMax can purchase right now. HOWEVER, it does depend who the bank is. I know of one person who had a Toyota but it was leased through Chase, so they were able to sell it.
Hey quick question do you think they will buy a car that doesn’t have a title ?? Has low mileage it’s been sitting since 2019. I do have the bill of sale
I'd call and ask. I don't think they will. I think its a requirement, but I'm not 100% sure if there is a loophole
WOW 1st class very kool great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
Thank you!!
Thank you
What if the registration is on its last month? And im selling because i was not able to pass smog, will they still buy?
Registration doesn't matter so much when buying and selling a car. Ownership is the key. I'm not sure if there are different requirements in your state, but the ability to sell your vehicle is not hindered by registration. Registration is more for tax purposes and to let the government / law enforcement know who is supposed to be in that specific car. I'd call them to confirm, but I'm fairly confident your state will let you sell your car without it being registered.
Do they drive your vehicle at highway speed when checking the vehicle?
Most of the time, yes
In your experience, how does the CARMAX offer usually compare to a dealership offer? Thank you.
Its really hard to make that comparison. When it comes to "trade in value" you're traditional dealer may look better on paper. But as far as companies that just straight up buy the car without it being used as a trade, I'd say that the are relatively competitive.
But... It's good to get multiple quotes.
Would carmax offer more if the car I was selling was detailed inside and out looking like new or less if I didn't? Friend is claiming they will offer you the same amount if it needed to be cleaned and you brought it in like that.
Detailing would add value as they do make slight deductions for stuff like stains and scratches. However, the price you pay for a professional detail job might be more expensive than the "extra" value it would add to your car.
@@theNebrAlien Makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
What if you already got it appraised and go get it detailed as well as a new paint job afterwards because you noticed there’s one that’s exactly like yours that’s worth more?
They gave me $3,000 over what I paid for mine! Stoked. And so happy to be rid of that POS cash pit.
Nice!
❤q⁰
I haven’t finished paying my car off yet but want to do an appraisal and take the money. Does it afffect my credit?
Depends on how much you still owe on the car. If you owe more than the amount CarMax offers you, then you won't be able to keep any money. They pay the lenders off first and give you any remaining.
What if you buy a car at Carmax that still has a factory warranty. Will that factory warranty still be good?
Yes. I just bought a car that is still under the Ford factory warranty and roadside assistance, those transfer from owner to owner as the manufacturer can tell when that car was sold.
I owe 28000 on my car, but CM offered me 37000 for it. That's a nine grand difference. If I do the sale, how would it work? Would the bank get paid off and I a check for nine grand?
That’s exactly how it would work. They pay the bank whatever you owe, then give you the rest. A lot of people are actually doing that right now to get out of their loans because of the Inventory shortages across America. Even new car dealerships are paying top dollar for trade-ins. Used car market is hot right now
@@theNebrAlien . Thank you!
❤😂 Bahaaaaaha it’s the incredibly accurate info and theme song 🦛🎵 for me 🤣😝
Thank you!
Would they take a care with a bad motor ?
Thank You for this! When selling to Carmax, do they charge you any types of fees? For instance processing fees, transferring title fees, etc... So say if they are willing to pay $8,500, will I get a check in that total amount or would there be associated fees deducted from that amount .
That is a great question! I don't remember any fees. Not to say they don't have any currently... But, I'm fairly confident they cut you a check for the amount they appraised at. Hopefully, someone else who has sold to them recently will see this comment and confirm that. But I really don't think they charge you fees to sell
I just sold my truck yesterday to Carmax and I did not see any fees on the purchase agreement. I got the total amount they offered me.
@@fmih Thanks for the info.
Cool ad bro
Can they come back on you if an issue arises after they actually purchase your vehicle?
I'm not 100% sure. However, id guess they can't. If they didn't catch whatever issues they find down the road during their inspection, then that's on them. There's no way they can prove you knew about any issues not mentioned in their inspection. That's why they do a thorough inspection. They are buying the car "as is"
@@theNebrAlien a private sale cant come back on you either, used cars are as is unless otherwise stated.
I still owe money on my car but if they give me a good price above the price I owed and pay it off for me could I put that as a down payment ? With the rest of they money I have left over ?
Yeah, you could do that.
@@theNebrAlien hey I actually have a question like this , I drove off the lot owing $15,000 on my car , since I had it I've spent ablest $7,000 on my carnets so far , I called them and they told me I still have a balance of $20,000 I never missed a payment and my credit score is going up can I still sale my car to carmax so they can pay the bank off ?
but the car has minor damage from bumper Kinda scratched up should I get it fixed first ?
I couldn't advise you on the scratches. I'm not sure if the cost of fixing it would be worth the amount they would mark off for it. It if we're me, I'd probably just leave it be.
I'd go get a quote and see how much they will give you. If the amount they offer is more than what you owe it might be worth it.
Going to most likely sell my car to car max (Audi q5 2010) hopefully they honor my offer I got for 5,100 and I’m selling it because I need the cash 💵 to pay off debt one thing I was wondering is once I sell it to them will The car be paid off on my credit ? I got the car for 4k down and have paid 7-8k into it and I owe 11k left on it just to give you an idea of where I’m at with the financing side of the Audi
Also is it a good recommendation to clean the car before you bring it ? Or just bring it dirty and that won’t affect the price they give me ?
From what you said, it sounds like their offer is for $5,100, but you still owe $11K. Is that correct? If that's the case you will still owe $5900. Your financer will most likely not release that vehicle until the entire 11000 is paid off. Meaning $5100 from carmax, and $5900 from you. Or More specifically, cutting out whatever interest there may be, you would still owe on the principal amount of the loan. You should be able to find that information on the financers website. But it sounds like CarMax is not offering enough to get you out of that loan.
Cleaning up any stains and stuff like that should up the value slightly.

Hello! CarMax isn't the only place that will offer to buy. I'd try and get more dealerships to appraise it. Carvana will also appraise. One reason CarMax will lowball is if they really don't want it. But.. based on what you told me it looks like you got a pretty standard CarMax offer.

I hope they do! Please let us know what happens.
How did it go ? I’m thinking about going tomorrow
@@tion356 it actually went good, they offered me $6k for my 2015 Kia Soul (not the best condition) but I was fine with the number lol
@@taylorweadd6685 Was that the same as the online offer?
@@bc_usa no the online offer was $7,800
Trying to sell my sedan that has recalls on it. Will carmax still buy it? Or do they not care?
They'll still buy it. But open / unfixed recalls probably get you a lower offer.
@@theNebrAlien also do they check for them or do I have to tell them? When I go in for an appraisal on the website it doesn’t ask about recalls
They will check for them. They have to list open recalls when they resell them. I wouldn't really tell them anything about the vehicle, except stuff that is asked. Let them do the research.
@@theNebrAlien great thank you!!
@@theNebrAlien went in and it was easy. They took the code for my online appraisal. They didn’t ask any questions and test drove it and did checks. Noted dings and stuff but that was it. Said due to mileage they didn’t do a mechanical check? But they gave me way more than I expected.
Im commenting for the teenager tears and making Dad moves 100!
Dad Moves!! Thank you!
Do they test drive the car you selling ?
Yeah, they test drive it
@@theNebrAlien i have a bad transmission issue . Car was jerking while accelerating .
Don't let anyone tell you there is no room to negotiate. Of course they say that because they are trained to.
CarMax knowingly sold me a car that they purchased at an auction house that DIDN'T have the title and reassured me that they would be reaching out to the previous owner to acquire the title and that "it wasn't a big deal/nothing to worry about." Fast forward to 8 months later, owning this car in MY name, yet they still didn't have the title.... In short, I ended up getting a phone call from a company rep one day saying that they needed the car back...WTF. I ended up taking the car back reluctantly and they gave me an additional 9k on top of my cars original value toward another car of my choice from them. It worked out, but I still miss that 2018 Ford Escape.... Damn you CarMax! I'll never do business with them again tbh.
I would have taken them to court. I believe this is illegal.
@@fmihFun fact: It IS technically an illegal practice…but in California where I purchased the car, it ISN’T!🙄
@@xslauth92 what? that's crazy!
@@xslauth92i would still sue. You do have damages.
Yeah. They want to buy my 2023 Acura TLX 3k miles for $30,000 😂. I took to another dealership, and brought home $36,000 😅
Do they care much about dirty seats ?
They do. I can't speak on an exact dollar amount they decide to deduct, but any cosmetic issues are documented and reduce the value
Carmax better than carvana. Carmax offered $ 3,000 more than Carvana
I agree. As of right now, Carvana is the better choice. My opinion anyway
@@theNebrAlien but yet caravana offered 500 dollars for my car.
