One of the most touchingly romantic scenes in film history. It's a classic wintertime scene...the set and Bennett's snow music create the mood beautifully. Field's following "sarcastic love song" lyrics to Kern's "A Fine Romance" song, move the plot forward....and is also an all-time classic film moment.
It has been said, that part of this dialogue is a mediation upon the timeless Astaire and Roger's partnership itself, beginning when Ginger says: "It's funny how we met....".

"I wanna show you where we used to fish through the ice."
"I thought you said you only came here in the summer time."
"Well I'll show you where we didn't use to fish through the ice."
    ....
"I think they wanna be alone!"
Such simple comedy, yet makes me laugh every time :P

This film was made in 1936, yet prophetically of a Cowardly Lion line in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, after deboarding their car by a wood Fred's friend Edwin says, "I hope there are no wild animals around here!"

@Celevive: You are right...This is just the lead-up to the song....and the song is a really smart ironic love song.
