Nice video and work however just to be clear the first Porsche to receive red calipers was the RoW 1992 Turbo S Lightweight followed by the 1994 turbo with the big 928 calipers painted red with the feeds and bleeds swapped. The 993 Turbo also had the same front brakes.
Thanks for the info
This is a great video. This dude and his company are amazing. I really enjoyed this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Eric Shea and his team are the best!!! Highly recommend them! They are restoring and building my 911 safari and it’s been a Fantastic Experience working with them.
Classic example of an organic evolution of a needed service/business, ie., "build it and they will come!"
Thank you for watching🙌
Just got mine for my 1988 911. They are beautiful!
Sweet!
This gives me inspiration for life after my own Fortune 500 job.
🙌
Really interesting. I love enthusiast run services for Porsches. The love and care shows
PMB is the bees knees!! One of the coolest shops in the U.S.
Wonderful video Eric! Did you pick the background music being from the music industry? Haven't forgotten to send my rears plus the proportioning valve to you. Getting close to the brake portion of my project. Stay tuned....
Just had my 84 911 calipers done at PMP...
🙌
had the calipers on my 87 carrera rebuilt by PMB and was very impressed with the quality, turn around time, and customer service. May be sending the 996TT calipers in now that I see how that process is done
Eric helped me rebuild my 912 calipers way back when he was working in his garage in Sandy, Utah. Thanks Eric, they still work flawlessly.
I just had them redo the calipers for my 968, they are beautiful!
Ferrari 308 guy - great birdman call out!!!!
Love these “behind the curtain” videos!
I wish PMB did core exchanges. There was a company that used to do it for Z cars. You would order a set of calipers painted the color you wanted, pay an additional “core charge”, get your new calipers, send back the old ones and have your “core charge” refunded upon receipt by the vendor.
Hey, i actually work here so I can shed some insight. We do core exchanges at PMB on steel calipers. Early 911s up to the g model, 914s, 356s, stuff like that. We don't do cores on aluminum calipers because aluminum can vary too greatly in condition.
Thanks Vu and Eric =)
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching.
They restored my 912 calipers. Top notch work!
🙌
Really interesting video, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. Love to see how this stuff is done. Lots more work than it would seem.
It really is!
What's the average turn around time for a rebuild? You said 3-5 days in the video. Is that from time of receipt or once the work starts?
The 3-5 day time is from the day they go into receiving to the day they leave shipping. It's a really fast turn around. Painted calipers or specialty stuff can take longer though.
What do they do if the piston or the bore is scored? These are pretty, but don’t seem address wear of pistons or slides?
@@robertlittiken394 we've got tons of extra nose/back sections and new pistons if the customer's caliper is functionally damaged usually steel calipers don't have substantial bore damage unless something really bad has happened to the calipers in the past. On aluminum calipers they can be epoxy treated to stop leaks in the bore
That was pretty cool, thank you Vu!
Glad you liked it!
