    I hope they bring out a new Suzuki V Strom 250. With speeding fines, speed limits, the price of petrol and the price of new bikes they make so much sense to own.

    I’m concerned about motorcycles not from the big four that I have experienced, over the decades, is resale. I have had 4 moto guzzi machines.. most people have never even heard of them. It took two years for me to sell my 2007 Norge. I never had a problem with it. It only had 15,000 miles on it when I sold it. The buyer was in his 60s, he had a garage full of large capacity motorcycles, all in pristine condition. He only bought mine because he never owned one before…
    just look at Hyosung(spelling??).. Here in the US, I have seen some of those machines for sale on local websites for years. They never sold as far as I could tell. The same with Aprilia. There is a Aprilia motorcycle I have seen this is the third year now that that seller is using the same photos, and it appears to be the same motorcycle, it just doesn’t sell..
    I loveed most of the dozens and dozens of motorcycles I have owned over the decades, I have only had one BMW. K1200 LT… that was not a difficult motorcycle to sell after I owned it for two years, and was fed up with it. It rode nice, it was gorgeous, it never broke down, but it was the most flawed motorcycle I ever owned, and the most top-heavy, the worst feeling brakes, The worst, feeling front end, in the most distorted windshield that I had to look through because of his height. But I had no trouble selling it because the reputation they earned before they started making the K bikes, still lives on. BMW is sure ain’t what they used to be..
    I am not familiar with CF, Moto machines, but with computer design and sharing of technology, I think it would be possible for a company to make a modern reliable machine basically buying parts from suppliers without doing any of the development research..
    my concern would be Quality control, and companies building to a price instead of to a standard..
    just look at some of the side-by-side four wheelers available at your local hardware store. Without actually loaning one or driving one, I can see that some of the machines available have technology not much better than that of a 20 year old golf cart or go cart design. I realize that’s an oversimplification, but where do you buy parts for these machines? Where do you take it for service? Since the Harley Davidson inspired import motorcycle tariff of 1984, just within An hour of my home, there were 22 Japanese motorcycle shops. Three BMW shops, that number has been dropping over the 40 years since the tariff, today, there are only three Japanese motorcycle shops within an hour of my home, those three shops have been in business for decades, family owned, they have owned the building for decades. That’s the only way they could have survived. There are zero BMW shops within an hour of my home..
    maybe CF Moto would do excellent business if they had dealerships with parts and service..
    many motorcycle repair shops, even dealerships will not work on other brands of motorcycles. They don’t want a motorcycle apart waiting for parts taking up space. Shops don’t like it, mechanics hate it.
    at one time Honda and suzuki were the newcomers.
    it seems that generation Z or X or whatever millennials are called, those people are more interested in video games and cell phones than they are in motorcycles. That Harley Davidson tariff of 1984 that made motorcycles so expensive as a result, wiped out family generations of new motorcyclists.
    I know that over the past 40 years, the fact that motorcycles got too expensive due to the tariff eliminated generation, after generation of buying in expensive Japanese motorcycles. And it does riders that would have bought an expensive motorcycles would not all have been buying Harley’s when they got older. But some of them would. Maybe only a couple hundred thousand of them ..

    Totally agree with you and it's been one of my disappointments that smaller capacity engines haven't been reintroduced. Suzuki for example had their 125cc and the next size up is a 650 v-twin. The Honda 400 does look great, a bike I would consider.

    The CFmoto looks good but a lot of its design elements were taken straight from Ducati and Aprilia. I've got an idea for Honda: Put a high output 1,000 cc V4 into the CBR1000RR (it'll cost a little more but I think people would buy it). Now detune that same engine and put it into the next generation VFR.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  3 месяца назад

      I think the problem with a V4 in the Fireblade would make it too heavy and not as nimble.

    Cafe' sound better than the juvenile, priapic "naked". Why not combine Hornet and Naked and say it's a "Horney Naked". Just call this bike the CB1000F and be done with it. "Naked". Feh! I loathe that term for motorbikes. Sportsbikes are mostly useless in the real world. They are uncomfortable, return crappola mpg and did I mention they are stoopidly uncomfortable? They are.
    I agree with your assessment of small capacity motorbikes. Well said, sir! Manufacturers have long had no shame when ripping off Harley-Davidson so when will they look at their own storied history and make small capacity homages to their own great past(s)? They are stoopid not to. Kawasaki still hasn't made an ELR1000 or ELR900? WTI. What The Intercourse!
    CFMoto? I have a dealer but time for the big butt in the room. Dealers here come and go far too often and where can I get one serviced. This is also true of Kymco and their 550 Scooter.

    Great vid bud. Hopefully see some more inlines coming. The triples are great for nakeds and as much as I dislike them so are the parallel, but I think Yamaha have made some bad moves in recent years, ditching the r1 for the triple is a bad idea, just like the r7. Superbikes don’t benefit from parallel twins or triples. Shame about the death of most the inline 600s also. I think Kawasaki are the only ones who keep with the past and bring to the present.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  3 месяца назад +2

      I agree with pretty much all of that besides the Triples. I think the low end Torque of a triple is perfect and the high top speed is not so important. I am not a massive parallel twin fan. Without the 270 degree crank, they tend to just sound 'meh'. Inline 4's in the lower capacity engines are brilliant and have only disappeared due to emissions bollocks, sacrificing the sound, pull and all-round awesomeness. I love twins but only in V-format.

    • @MrLexxmorelia
      @MrLexxmorelia 3 месяца назад +1

      @@motorsforthemasses same. My favourite configuration is the vtwin but for superbikes inlines and v4 is the way to go. And I will agree on the triples they are awesome all round. I miss my triple rather a lot. (In naked form) I’d love to try the Daytona out but they don’t scream and come to life at the top like the inlines as the revs stop. So in a superbike that’s about top end im not so sure. My mind may be changed tho, I’d love to try and I’m 100% sure the r9 would be ten times the bike of the crappy r7 (😬) but it’s not going to be replacing the r1 or any other 1000cc inline four. In the road tho it may just be the perfect compromise

      RE's all seem to sell well, even the Continental GT. I think they will make a 650 Classic. It could be just for the Indian market but hopefully it will go to the rest of the world too. My worry is that it will be too much like the Interceptor.

    Yamaha R9 is rumored for years… but for real, it would be a really unicorn in the current market as there is not really a gap between the 600cc and 1000cc sport bikes. Maybe the Panigale V2 or Mv Agusta 800 but those are ridicolously expensive and unreliable

    Considering that I rarely see a youngster on a motorcycle, it's usually 50+ year olds, retro is the way for them to go in my opinion.
    Although I'd probably still buy the original model rather than a hashed version like Suzuki did with the Katana for example.

    What we need are more easy to ride motorcycles for the majority of the population who don't want or need a sports bike. In my part of the world the Kawasaki Vulcan 650 sells very well and has no direct competitors. Some of us would like to do 200 kph burst on a quiet road but jail etc is a big disincentive.

    just be aware the Honda 400 four frame is not that strong, i'd avoid taking your scambler/Cafe over any jumps... but its otherwise a great machine, unless it rains... the petrol tank will funnel water onto the coils and they will cut out.... so it will morph into a 300/3... 200/2 and then your pushing.... better carry WD40 just in case...

      Chinese quality? at Japanese prices? No thanks! My Sportster has outlasted all of my Honda's put together. Race bikes with turn signals shouldn't be allowed on public roads. Today's motorcycles are a collection of government regulations on 2 wheels. Vintage British motorcycles are rebuidable forever ♾️.
