Man, auction houses are the ones that always win. Between buyers premiums and sellers fees, they get paid on both ends
it's like booki, they never work part time..
With low value items they rip you of. A auction house is only worth it if your item has high value 50k+
Sorta like being a hedge fund manager, lol. A commission from the winners and another commission from the losers. A little piece from both ends makes for a game where you never lose. 🧐
Yeah, considering that’s all the $ they make… 🤷🏻♂️
And they offer no real services, no information on the items or anything...
Love seeing both of y’all back together for a video. Absolutely love watching both of yall
its always good to be back with craig
Hey man you should absolutely start auctioning .. if you feel called to do that make them more honest and fair... go for it brother!
Amen
I miss this! Sean your videos are still great. But You and Craig have that chemistry
The Rune is so ugly 😂but that’s a retirement investment if you hang on to it there’s no telling how much it’ll be worth to the right collector the only problem is I don’t think you can get any of the specialty parts for it
I absolutely think you should start a motorcycle auction. Your a good dude, honest, and you know what the realistic value is vs trying to get rich or take advantage of people. Plus your name is already out there. Huge bonus!
if he'd actually honest he'll never make a dollar
not who he act s like very rude to people
@@charles-k2q8l not trying to be rude myself here, just curious….but if he is that horrible to people, why are you here watching? Do you know him personally?

Ive been wanting a bike for 25 years now. I just turned 50 on the 5th of this month, and after 2 failed marriages and two houses I’m finally outta all debt from my Ex’s and now I can start dreaming being on the road again and free! Hopefully I’ll See all you bike lovers out there!

@@phillcc8524 I’ve been riding for 2 weeks now and it’s been a whole different experience for me!
Ride dirt first
Awesome, did you buy a bike?
@@rideinpeace8309 yes I did I bought a ninja 600 and I also I helped my son on his first bike too! He wanted a KPR 200 so he found a 2022 KPR 200 with 67 miles on it. So of course I had to ride it lol I have to say not a bad little bike for what he paid for it!
“I stole this bike for $1.25 but after fees, taxes and delivery it cost me $54,000 and now I’m driving for Uber. “
Yes, yes, yes, yes to the auction. I think we need a solid auction that is fully transparent about what you're buying BEFORE you buy it! I cant think of a better candidate for starting such a company! I also have to say that throughout the years, you have become one of my top 5 favorite youtube channels and I always look forward to a new video release! Its always icing on the cake when Craig shows up as well because you two are awesome together and you can definitely tell there is a true brotherly love there. Love both you guys and I hope that y'all always do these little Cameo videos together!
While a fully transparent auction is a nice idea it wont work because there will be too many conservative people who just wont bid on a bike that needs work or a mint bike because they want to get a good deal.
More time and effort will be put in to each bike rather than in to the auction and it will take far more time than its worth. People forget the labor and hours it takes to set up an auction and the amount of money they invest in to promoting said auction. If you think that the auctions make a huge amount of money. They do yet a lot of it goes out in marketing. A motorcycle auction takes a long time to set up and to have enough bikes to put up for auction. Its a limited type of an auction.
I'm thinking a consignment setup would be better suited for what they want to do. Have it setup with some trusted shippers so the buyers don't get scammed.
@@JetSkiBuyFixPlaySellChannel consignments are horrible. People think their item is worth more money than they will get for it. Sits in their store/location for a long time.
Agreed my friend

Had a tear in my eye when that Rune cranked up. Everything about that bike is drop dead gorgeous but that exhaust note is a symphony for the soul.

Howdy. I have also used thrasher trucking in the past when attempting to ship a few vehicles. They took my money, never showed up to the pickup location, and claimed their truck broke down on the way to pickup.
Seems like a scam at this point
Here in the UK, it's bloody great seeing you guys back together once again.
This was such a fun video, glad to see you and Craig together again. my jaw literally dropped when you unveiled the Rune! Been a long time viewer seeing all the auctions seems like it's time to step up to the plate, you made a name for yourself in the motorcycle community and carry yourself with genuine good integrity, the world needs that right now more than ever. God bless you and all your endeavors
I used to run an auction for a tow company. We let customers get in and look at all cars. The hoods were up, we started the cars, and gave all available information on them. It's the right thing to do.
Auction house is smart . Best way to dump rubbish on the market is not to give any information about it
Worked at a Honda dealership briefly at the time the Interceptor came out. All I can say is there wasn't any room around it when we pulled the shipping cover off of it till after it was on the floor the first day. Everyone had to have their eyes on it!!! Yours looks like a good restore project though.
Yes they were absolute benchmarks for the industry. Nothing was the same after it.
Watch for the "chocolate cams" on those.
The oil for the heads is riuted directly from the clutch basket, before any filtration can occur, took the dealers in the uk to figure this out as they just kept eating cams.
They were replacing cams thinking it was faulty "chocolatey metal" at first.
But it was just the clutch dust essentially sanding the cams away.
Honda rushed them out to market to have something to compete against the suzuki katana and never did get round to fixing the issue at the factory.
Within months of release the cbx750 appeared which says rather a lot about this bike.
It was very innovative with the v4 beam frame and strange multi piece wheels!
but a bit too innovative!
Theres a modifcation you can do to take the oil from the main gallery at the bottom of the motor.
Same on the magnas sabre etc. which is a different crank and firing but same engine.
The first editions with the bolted multi piece wheels were a bit of an issue too as if you wheelied one and came down too hard the tyre would grab the fork as the wheel bent...coupled with the slightly nightmarish antidive and floppy frame it would try to kill you just a little bit dead.
The really cool bit was the 180 degree crank, 1-4-3-2 firing order (same as thebhinda racing v4s) and the weight ,it was incredibly light for its day , its essentially the first supersport bike for the road but was sadly a truly terrible bike as a package.
The vfr that followed is the real honda masterpiece.
They sound amazing on song but you would pay for it in fuel!
The most balanced motorcycle engine made - Honda V4.
@@sana-cm7oc in this configuration its a bit special.
1 4 3 2 firing order and 180 degree crank and oversquare bore too.
Same as the motogp v4s made many many years later
The vfr that soon followed was a vast improvement on the interceptor though.
@@deadprivacy Thank you. Love this line of engines.
man Thrasher Trucking really missed on that one and had no Idea lol hahaha sucks to suck
That Rune is killer, just don’t ever get in a position where you need to buy any parts other than engine or transmission, they are outrageously priced if available at all.
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
😂

Do you comment this on every video
Did the torque twist the chassis 😂😢😅
Absolutely! start an auction and keep me posted!
And a raffle too. 😎

Am I the only one willing to donate to Craig's moving fund just to get him back on this channel full time?
Miss them together
100% you MUST start an auction that is built on TRANSPARENCY.
yeah for sure people would def run blindly to it if he make one with true transparency
Congratulations on the RUNE, the best thing is that it fired up at the first attempt. You never see too many Auction Houses go broke. You're an honest, decent young man and you would be a very credible to do business with. Thanks to you for the video I am a regular viewer and also of the bearded mechanic Craig.
I was the owner of the Rune. It was kept on a battery tender and had Stabil fuel stabilizer. Tank was always kept full and the bike would be run on the freeway every few months. The FI injectors got a bit wonky a few years ago, but adding Lucas injector cleaner and 20 miles on the freeway cleared right out.
YESSS CRAIGGG
had an RE-5 - do not forget the 2 stroke oil tank. rotor tips are hard to find for them these days. The good news is it is every bit as smooth as you have heard. Roadtripped mine across Texas in the late 80s. As long as the 2 stroke tank is up, and you have compression, she will run (and surprise you).
how was it power wise?
@@colestowing8695 about the same or a bit better than a 1000cc of the time
@@acconboy wow. ok. wouldnt have expected that. those motors were pretty small displacement wise werent they? I mean...the rotary cars were too but they were pretty gutless until they added turbos
jay Leno has to get spark plugs made for the RE-5. They are prone to eating them.

Supposedly 500 cc. My friend had one. It sounded like a rotary blade lawnmower to me, with that blowy blade sound.
Great video. I've been making some videos scrutinizing the Mecum three wheeler auction scene. There's a few hacks out there raking people over the coals with rattle can restos and laughing all the way to the bank. It's ridiculous and very upsetting, especially to the buyers. A full disclosure auction site would definitely be a welcomed venue!
Those honda 50s are incredible machines. I raced a stock one at 160lbs for years. Me and another overgrown child used to push two of them to their limits everyday for hours on our three local pitbike tracks. Never onced had one issue. Didnt even need a top end after all that wide open thrashing. Find me any other dirtbike that can do that... even my ct70 bent a valve before my xr50 even broke a sweat.
Uh, hey folks at Thrasher Trucking. You just told over 2 million bikers that you suck at customer service. Bad move.
Sean, don't let that trucking company steal your money.
You paid them for a service that they didn't provide.
If you paid by credit, charge it back. The credit card company will refund you. If you paid by check, sue them. Small claims court doesn't cost that much and you can add it to the settlement anyway to cover your costs.
I know you aren't about that, but it's the right thing to do.
Sean-I work at uShip. And I'm a big fan of the show! Been a fan for a bit! I shared the video around internally and we should have had a few people reach out to you to help recover some of those costs of the shipper and more. Be on the lookout for the email!
I’ve used UShip in the past and was always happy with there service. The guy video called me and I used him to transport my 2019 FLHT from Fla To Texas and he was very good and very fast.
The exhaust on that MT01 will fetch you a lot of money on fleabay. That is the rare akro full system
If it's a stage 1, wouldn't it be better to leave them on?
why selling the akro if he want to keep the bike ? it's dumb
It's called "informing somebody on what they have". What he does with the info is his business. For the record I did not say he should sell it.
The value of that one part is worth more than half of what he paid for the bike fyi.
Yes, please start your own auction site!!! You'd be the doug demiro of bikes!
I love watching your videos and I know you have a business to run but I genuinely love the wholesome content when you go out of your way to help someone ina hard place like when you gave that gentleman full price for his bike and let home keep the bike. Love you guys, god bless
The auction idea is a winner.
Sean, absolutely start your own auction! I have been wanting to buy a bike from you since you started SRK and it just never worked out. Make it happen!
Here’s a listing from one sold on bring a trailer winning bid was $25k

Equipment includes an upswept exhaust system, full suspension, chrome-finished two-piece 8″ steel wheels, and a cross-braced handlebar with red grips as well as a Z-logo red solo seat, white number plates, and a side stand. This Z50RD is offered at no reserve by the selling dealer in Florida for off-road use only with a bill of sale.
Shocked!! Fees, shipping, etc. raising your cost by over 100% on many of the bikes. That rotary Suzuki is rare, as I recall the biggest issue was the chains kept breaking because the torque. I was into bikes when they came out (72-73?).
That Honda starting right up with 0 hrs is just beautiful, brought a tear to me eye
Straight up. This is a GREAT follow up to the auction video. And I am getting ready to watch Craig's video right after dinner. I'm sorry, I've bugged you on a few things before. You are good people man! Thank you for sharing!
When I was 10 my father got me a Yamaha SnoScoot for Christmas. He wrapped it in a tarp, which was hard af to get off. But getting that and the fun I had on it were some of the best memories of my childhood. I lost him 4yrs and 2 days later. Thank you for the great childhood dad, I hope I'm half the father you were.
My cousin drank a cup of gas when we were kids. Our dads were were working on an old car and they filled up a McDonalds cup with gas. It was sitting on the bench, close to where my cousin had last placed his cup. He grabbed the gas cup and downed the contents in one quick gulp. He screamed like a mountain lion and commenced to running around the yard like a headless chicken. My uncle scooped him up. And we all headed to the ER. They pumped his stomach and He was no worse for wear. Thanks for the great content. Best of luck with your Auction endeavor.

Another awesome video and happy to see Craig! Your idea of starting a real auction company sounds like a good idea. if become reputable, which you would, people would be willing to buy online vs in person because of that reputation. You have a high standard and that would show in something like this. If God is opening the door..... walk though my friend.

The Rune is awesome. Watched your review of it years ago.
I like auction idea, especially since you are into bikes as well as customer service.
The only caveat is that you'll need a ton of upfront cash to rent the venue, pay the employees/staff/auctioneers, liability insurance, utilities, advertising/marketing, etc.
An honest auction.
This is an excellent idea 💡
Man, That honda rune looked incredibly good. Get the dust off give it a wipe down and I bet that paint would look absolutely gorgeous
If finances wasn’t an issue I would come in a heartbeat to pick up the v45 just to restore in my dad’s memory. My dad had one when he was in the service that had service records and build sheets as long as a cvs receipt 😂 I still have pictures of his and it’s same paint color and everything! I would keep it in my shop and restore it in memory of him. Sadly we lost my dad in march of 2020 but the stories of his old bike still crack me up. I remember him telling me stories of riding it from east tn to fort Polk Louisiana all the time! Always enjoy watching your videos! God bless my friend 😊
FYI - in the trucking/freight brokerage industry the phrase, "the truck broke down", is usually the common lie for we didn't have a truck at the time but thought we could get one. We took your load and money but didn't really have a truck available, or we knew the truck we put on it couldn't make your deadline but took it anyway. As someone who's been in the industry for almost 30 years, I've had to deal with it plenty of times. It's not always the case but more often than not it's total BS. It's especially bad in the auto transport industry. There's a lot of over promise and under deliver in that sector. If the carrier can't or won't tell you where the truck is being repaired or show you the repair estimate/invoice, they lied. Also, as you learned, never pay anything up front. They either give you credit terms or you pay "collect" on delivery.
If you're looking for M/C, look at towing companies and impound lots. They just want to get rid of them because they don't have any scrap value. We sold P/U trucks loaded ( however many you could get in ) for $100 !
Good to see you're still in the game.
Start an online auction platform, less hassle. Your viewers can buy and sell used bikes, make short videos and ship or pick them up themselves.

My Christmas motorcycle was a 1970's Honda SL100. But catch was it was a box of parts with the engine sitting next to it. I was so happy but i fortunately my dad did not help me get it together. I polished everything i could. Then it got pushed out into the back yard where it sat for like 5 years until i drig it back out and cleaned and polished it all again. I found a used engine from a place called "Cycle recyclers". The engine i found was from an XL125. So it was a direct bolt in though. I finally got the engine in and ready to fire up. Got it started and it smoked something fierce. I mean a full blue cloud of smoke. It ate a spark plug every hour. Completely oil foiling it. I rode the crap out of it but i was running out of saved money and cans to recycle and cash in tobuy spark plugs and oil. Oil was actually running out of the exhaust pipe. So it got parked. I pulled the engine out. My dad was friends with the honda mechanic at the Honda dealer. Took the engine to him to do some trading with my dad to rebuild my 125 4 stroke. Months turned into a couple of years and i finally got my engine back. I was now like 14 and i got this bike at around 8. So finally i had it back together and running. I clocked many hours off on this bike. I then sold it to buy another bike. But i will never forget my first real motorcycle my Honda 4 stroke!
One video with y'all together is one thing but two, AWESOME.
I think you should 100% start your own auction. This is a great idea. But only if you can either become or get a true auctioneer to do their thang.

Yeah the Z-50's are highly collectable! It's hard to find one that hasn't been beaten into the ground!
A friend had one that was a 1996 all white with a red seat it was fun to ride!
I had a VF750F Interceptor for a few years and it’s the one bike that had more issues than any other in my experience. Also notorious for timing chain wear, which needed the block to be split.
Man this guy is my role model! I love Auctions, and I love Bikes. Unfortunately after having 2 kids and being married I've not the extra funds to buy a bike and my area doesn't do Bike Auctions. @@BikesandBeards Yes, bright and so on, but is too big, to long...
I remember my first experience with a two-stroke Suzuki Water BUffalo. A used car dealer had one for sale. That's when I learned to hate used car dealers. He offered to trade it for my Yamaha DT250. But, when we came to complete the deal, it turned out my DT250, which I had thought was a '74, was actually a '73. NOw, in '82 this really wouldn't have mattered to another human being on earth, but that used car dealer! He thought he found a way to gouge more money out of me! oh, my he made a stink about it! How much less that beat-up dirt bike was worth! How he'd never be able to sell it!
So I didn't swap for the Suzuki. But I did seriously learn to hate used car dealers, a LESSON which has stayed with me to this day!
"winning" an auction simply means that every other person in the building or online thought what you're trying to buy isn't worth what you're willing to spend.
That Honda interceptor is such a badass bike I love the Honda V4 engines
I spent 20g at an auction for 6 bikes. One was a 1947 Knucklehead. It didnt run. Only one bike could run. A Haysbusa but it had been crashed and lazer proved, bent frame. I parted it all out EXCEPT ONE. 1968 Honda Trail 70. The Haysbusa engine went in a two seat sand buggy. The Knuckle went FAST. I broke even at days end. The trail 70 is on the rear bumper of my camper for beer runs
