- 🐺 Is it possible to make a wolf mask in three hours? Yes, it can be done. This video is for those folks who need a really fast project, and are willing to cut a few corners to get it finished in time.

That was cool! I never thought about covering the masks totally in masking tape and spray painting. That would’ve saved me a lot of time when I did your Lion King masks for our school play.
It is definitely faster, and with a project like the Lion King masks, it could save hours of time. But I'm not sure if the masks would hold up as well as they do if they're made with paper mache. I should do some kind of test, but I'm not sure how to do that. Any ideas? Of course, the spray paint can be used over paper mache, too, and they probably have lion colors. 😊
It looks great for just 3 hours of work!
Thanks - and it wasn't exactly 'work.' I had a lot of fun with it. 😊
3 M masking tape works miracles. I have bought other tapes, and they don't have the stickiness that will hold the tape on forever. It's the only masking tape I use. I love your wolf mask. It came out great.
I agree! I wish I'd found it sooner. 😊
Where have you been all my life?! 😂 I can't wait to get started trying some of these. I usually paint pictures for my family for holidays and special occasions, this will be a fabulous switch on the keepsakes! So glad I found you ❤️
I'm glad, too - have fun! 😊
This would be a great school project.
Yes, I agree. I would have had a lot of fun making something like this when I was in school. The only art classes we had in my grade school, eons ago, was using crayons with coloring pages, and I always got in trouble because I couldn't stay inside the lines. 😊
What a great idea.
Looks amazing A+ from me
Glad you like it - it isn't museum quality, for sure, but it's fast. And sometimes, that's what you really need. 😊
I agree about the masking tape- I've had to switch brands because they started curling/not sticking. I love it for taping up a whole shape prior to paper mache.
I found this tape by accident - it's the only one, other than the Frog tape, that has worked for me. It seems like every other brand curls up, which kind of makes sense. Masking tape isn't supposed to stick to a wall permanently when painters use it, but I'm glad this one is sticky, even on the corners. I'm going to order some more. 😊
I think the big bad wolf looks nice. It was funny, just you before you said "spray paint" I had the same thought. You did a nice job on both the video and the project. It is always good to see you. It looks like you still like doing paper Mache and other things. It is so cool that you ask for input from others. Maybe it is the joy in your heart or the fun of teaching others that keeps me watching.
Hi Alan. Has it warmed up enough for you to work in your shop yet? We had some stormy weather here, and the wind is blowing like crazy - but it should be spring soon. I hope you're doing well. 😊
@@UltimatePaperMache Thanks for asking but no. I can not afford a electrician at my new address. It has been cold, wet and windy here as well. Even the threat of snow.
It looks so nice! I think some patterns drawn on in metallic markers would look pretty cool for added detail and variation
That's a great idea! I even have some of those. I'll have to try it. 😊
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing the process!
Thanks - I had fun with this little project. 😊
It would make a cool Anubis . Love it
That would work! I'm glad you like it. 😊
I think with Anubis being more of a jackal, a longer, thinner snout & upright ears might be better !?
Fantastic work.
Thanks! 😊
Great work as always.
Very cool 😎
Big like 👍 👍👍👍👍
Thanks! 😊 BTW, I just took a peak at your video about making a model of the Titanic look rusty using kitchen spices. I'm going to try that with one of my sculptures someday - what a great idea!
Thank you so much , after a while , the smell of the spices go away . I watch many of your mask videos.
Big like 👍 to your work and your videos.
God Bless .
Mike .
This could work for therian masks!
Tres beau merci pour partager votre savoir faire ❤
Je suis heureux que vous ayez apprécié la vidéo. 😊
It’s really cool!
Thanks! 😊
Look’n great❣️👍
😊
🤩🤩 Wow you look really gorgeous even now, i was your fan since 2014, Have you repainted the the giraffe? 😍
Gosh - thanks. The giraffe in this video was made from a pattern, so it's new. The pattern was based on the original giraffe, which you would have seen way back in 2014. Boy, time flies, doesn't it? 😊
What coating can you put on top of the paper mache clay so it doesn't rub off and leave white marks where the sculptures rub on the shelf?
You can use any acrylic varnish, but for the marks, and to prevent any scratches, I use those little round felt stick-on pads. I bought mine at Walmart, but I can't remember what department they put them in. They look like these on amazon.com: amzn.to/3xSe2NW
Hi been a subscriber, did Charlie Chaplin in past
Now Air dry clay in my modle example has an eagle on the bow.
Thanks again for your advice…
😊
I'd love to know what program for Macs can do that 3d to flat pieces mesh to create things like this wolf mask.. you you know of a good one? apparently Blendr can do it but I have yet to learn it.
Blender can be tricky to learn, but I think the newer versions are a lot easier than they used to be. But this wolf mask pattern wasn't made with any computer program. I made multiple paper mache copies of the original sculpture, and then cut them apart where I thought the pieces would work. I keep doing that until the pieces fit together the way I want them to (because they usually don't work well the first time you try it). You can see how to make paper mache castings here: ruclips.net/video/zevmy70b4oo/видео.html
And just to prove that the method works, the fox mask I made with those castings is here: ruclips.net/video/mNRpTMExWGY/видео.html
Do you have a crocodile mask pattern?
No - but I recently added it to my list. I have one other thing I need to do first, and then I'll start on it. Just out of curiosity, what do you intend to do with your crocodile mask? I thought it would be a really fun project, but I really didn't think many people would want one. Was I wrong? 😊
