Pro tip, you can sharpen scissors by cutting an aluminum foil sheet a couple times! Helps for moments like this lol. Great video I will be trying this knot out in the spring
@@frederikmare9002 imagine laughing at something that’s true lol. Go try it out bud. I do it all the time. You’ll feel real fucking stupid which would be well deserved
Great looking uncomplicated knot and most importantly looks easy to tie in a rocking boat, have you done any breaking tests on how strong the knot is, if so could you share please. Thank you for sharing.
I've used it with 20lbs leader line. And while fishing I managed to catch a grouper weighing 5kg without breaking the braid. So in my opinion this knot is still very suitable to use if you are fishing along the beach. But if you want to catch bigger fish, I suggest you use an FG or PR knot. Thank you, I hope this can help you make a decision when making knots
Ever have issues with that tag end getting snagged up on the guides during a cast? I hate my tag ends on that side lol. I use a smaller pole and reel though im not out here salt fishin
I use a 2-6lb ultralight rod for casting, while for fishing line I use 19lb main line and 0.40mm or 20lbs leader line. as long as I use this knot for freshwater fishing. And until now it has never gotten stuck in the top ring. The fishing rod I use also has a small tip 😅
@@pescadorestamora probably wouldn't be a problem on my bigger setups. half the time my leader line is 2-4lb test though lol. so thats my concern. I guess I could always try it out. 20lb leader line is something i would use to go lake fishing for "big fish" lol. I do quite a bit of stream fishing for trout.
@@brianmullaney5197this is a video for you. with braid and light fluoro. i just uploaded it on my channel. ruclips.net/video/5-MExhRUthU/видео.htmlsi=HKYg5nOiFVwkWf1o
I have tried this knot many, Many, MANY, times and in every way shown how to tie it and ALL have failed trying to tighten the knot. I will stick to the Alberto knot

Thank you for the tips. Maybe I will sharpen that big scissors again. 🤭
😂😂😂😂😂 aluminium foil sharpening a steel blade 😂😂😂😂😂

I have a love hate relationship with this knot but you tying it backwards may be a game changer for me. Thank you!
You're welcome. Hopefully, with this way, you won't hate this knot anymore. 😁
It's a knot that is popular in the pacific region around Guatemala. Sailfish guy's use this. I use this for my bass and striper fishing.
Wow, I just found out that this knot is popular in Guatemala. I also use it here for fishing in the lake
Thank you. I'm going try this.
You're welcome, try it 😁

It's an extraordinarily strong knot. Hits easily 90% breaking strength
Yucatan, i use this.
Yes, this is a Yucatan knot and I also always use it for fishing on the beach
No the Yucatán the braid is being wrapped around the fluorocarbon v this one the flouro is being wrapped around the braid
Did you see the end result.. It's a Yucatan knot, but packaged in a different way 😁
Yes, Yucatan. And this is the correct way to tie it so the tag ends are laid inline. No catching on tip eyelet.
Agree. If you make a Yucatan knot and leave a hole, it will damage the front ring of the fishing pole
Looks like a great knot. Ill definitely give it a go.
True, you should try it to fish by the beach
easy to follow. thanks, i've been looking for something like this.
You're welcome
Good looking knot!👍
Thank you, you should try this knot
Great video thanks 😊
You're welcome 🙏 thanks for watching this video ☺
Thanks for sharing mate and I gonna try this knot!! Greetings from the Netherlands! 🤜🏼🤛🏼💪🏼🎣💪🏼🎣
Thank you again, nice to meet you
Key to this knot is to get enough wraps. I wrap at least 14. Yucatan knot
I wrapped it 12x
Similar to the Albright, just winds in the opposite direction but does seem easier to tie since you go in a more intuitive direction.
This is actually a Yucatan knot, but it's true that it does look similar to the Albright knot if you pay attention
@@pescadorestamora its odd that you wrap the thicker mono n not thinner braid , is there a reason ?? so its a yucatan knot , ty 😊
Looks like a backwards Yucatan knot?
This is indeed a Yucatan knot, only I tied it upside down to make it easier
@@pescadorestamora Thats not what I meant by backwards. Im not the only one that mentioned that. look at how others show the knot tied.
👍

Oh I see, nice to meet you, friend. let's fish and always have fun
Could you demo one with 15lb braid to 8lb fluorocarbon?
wait for the next video. and I'll let you know when it's broadcast. Thank You

Ok
I to have tried with thinner line but slipping out…
I once used 0.10mm braid and 15lb leader line. And successfully doing it like this, in the next video I will make a tutorial. Thank You
Same. Fails everytime when i give a good pull.
Double Uni doesn't fail with same test
Albright knot?
No, this is a yucatan knot
I now superglue the knot of every connection, too many slips with big fish when I don’t expected it 😢
if you use super glue, it will make the braid very stiff. if the braid becomes stiff the potential for breaking is greater
@@pescadorestamora that’s what I thought too in the beginning but I’ve applied it anyway and found no problem at all.
😁👍👍👍
What knot is that?
Yucatan knot
No it’s not.
@@trumpking4874 so what bro?
Yucatan
...FG!?!
No, este es un nudo de Yucatán.
Not good
😅
This is the worse
