I am a product of the Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Program which motivated me to pursue an advanced degree in Software Engineering. I have high regards for Dr. McNair and I appreciate the man, student, physicist, husband, and father he was. And he excelled at them all and made the most of the time he had here on earth. I salute you, sir. Rest In Peace ✊🏽

I remember writing a letter of condolence to his family in 2nd grade. Today, I’m in the same fraternity that he was in. RQQ to Bro. Dr. Ronald McNair.

Dr. Ronald McNair died a hero. I would have loved to meet this man. I love the sweet irony that the library of which the librarian called the cops on him for due to segregation in 1959 - would then be named after him on the 25th anniversary of the Challenger incident.

I met Ronald McNair and his wife when they came to Kingston, Jamaica in 1985.

The community still hasn't recovered the ground he gave us when we lost that supremely gifted brother to the incompetence of NASA. Excellent video.

My mom and dad knew one of his cousins. His cousin took the news bad. He cousin did open a club and dedicated a small percentage of the club in his honor. His cousin just recently closed the club.

I was obsessed with Ronald when I was a little girl. He was the first astronaut that was entertaining in videos, and that kinda started my space obsession. Tho I found out at age 16 I couldn’t be a nasa astronaut cause of an inner ear defect :/ so I became an artist, and one of my first portraits was McNair (followed by my other favorite, Pete Conrad)

Thx for sharing this story. McNair had so mich influence by breaking the stereotypes of a introverted, awkward scientist. And although you may be disappointed in not pursuing your first dream, know that your purpose is still being fulfilled by being able to *give* and influence through your art. We wish you good luck and blessings in whatever path you make take. ✊🏽

That was a sad day. It was announced over the PA at my school. We all burst into tears. Sad day. He was well accomplished as we're the other astronauts. I remember many of them.
