- You may have already watched my creation - Blue Dragon - • Blue Dragon SWIRL - Us... and I wanted to use a totally different palette and build in some delicate and wispy edges. This is a paint and water combination and a bright and intuitive painting.

Today's Tutorial Information:
▶ Technique: Dutch Pour
▶ Pouring Medium formula: My paints are mixed with water only - on a ratio of 1:1. You may have to adjust your ratios depending on the paint brands you use.
▶ Color Palette:
Amsterdam: Lamp Black (base), Azo Orange, Pyrrole Red.
Pebeo: Primary Yellow, Iridescent red blue.
▶ Hair dryer: When I use a hair dryer I use the Remington D3010 and always use the cool setting and the lowest blow speed.

Love the contrast of the rounder center edges and the whispy outer edges. It really looks like the expanding fuel into the center and the release of power of the flames outwards. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Mark, this piece is HOT!!!! The end result is absolutely gorgeous. I was already excited when I saw the colours in your thumbnail because fire colours are very exciting to me.
While you were blowing out, during the whole time I had that old song in my head, hearing Johnny cash sing: "I fell into a burning ring of fire. I went down, down, down and the flames went higher, and it burns, burns, burns, the ring of fire......". You did a stunning job and I had so much fun watching you create. Wonderful!!! 🖒💖

This is excellent Mark, and that spot of yellow, all on its own before you started to blow out - what a great result it added! Thank you for sharing your drying technique as well. A recent problem that I have found is that the surface I leave my paintings to dry on isn't very level, so I've taken to using long screws, one on the underside of each corner and one of those little spirit levels, similar to the ones used when levelling caravans. Then if one corner needs adjustment, just screw a screw in a little etc. Then I start to paint; the screws also come in handy to hold the canvas while I tilt n turn. You've inspired me to do all of this, my results have been far from perfect but I'm having fun practising, and fun is what it's all about! So thank you very much for sharing and giving me and my hubby something extra to do on weekends.

Hello Mark. You have just created your own black hole in the space. It is sooooo energyfull. The colors works perfectly together. I love this painting ❤.
I would maybe love to see the same colors around the loop on black lamp base but swiped out with toilet paper and just the ends of the shafts blowed out with the blowdryer to the black like some kind of spreaded energy... 🤔

J'aime beaucoup cette palette de couleurs ! J'ai souvent eu trop de violet du fait du rouge et du noir ;-( Le résultat est magnifique, mais cette technique me semble encore un peu difficile, je n'ose me lancer sur une plus grande toile. Merci pour le partage, qui montre bien ta persévérance, et comment continuer pour ce superbe résultat ! Pas de pochoir au milieu ;-)
