    Keep an eye out for the alternate motor and alternate radio control unit recipes since you already grabbed the heat sink alternate (my favourite of the new ones thus far actually). They happen to line up perfectly for simple ratios when you come to making turbo motors (standard recipe), pretty sure it's 3 heat sink assemblers to one motor manufactory, one RCU manufactory and one turbo motor manufactory. I just finished my setup and there's something immensely satisfying about having sequential rows of manufactories (and they look awesome when stacked and feeding into the next tier via belt lifts!)

  • @peterbutterjam97

    15:04 for anyone who couldn't follow the diagram - simply:
    1. Split each input line in half, for 6 lines total (notated half-lines).
    2. Split each half-line in half, for 4 lines per input, and 12 lines total (notated quarter-lines).
    3. Merge three quarter-lines - one from each input.
    4. Repeat step 3 until no more quarter-lines remain.
    5. This will leave you with four lines, each with exactly 1/4 of each input line.

    That 3-4 load balancer is really simple, it splits each incoming line into 4 and then joins one line from each input into each output

    • @Veklim
      @Veklim 5 лет назад

      Yup. Most load balancing in this game is super simple, just takes a lot of space. Thankfully the belt lifts make it all much easier to compact but I've been doing stuff like this since I first unlocked splitters and mergers waaaay back when. It's easier than it looks to figure out, the only challenge I have with it is how to fit it into the tightest most space-efficient form possible, that's where the art is I reckon.

  • @italixgaming915
    @italixgaming915 5 лет назад

    16:03 I always do like this. Simple and efficient. All you have to do is to install the machines next to each other, splitters in front of them, mergers on the other side, you put your conveyors, plug the machines and boooom it works. Next production line!

    • @UniqueBreakfastTaco
      @UniqueBreakfastTaco 5 лет назад

    • @italixgaming915
      @italixgaming915 5 лет назад

      @@UniqueBreakfastTaco Standardisation is a key when you build a complex factory. If your production line looks simple, you'll do less mistakes and have less bugs and you'll fix them more easily. You also save a lot of time when you need to come back to a factory after several weeks in order to finish a project.

    • @UniqueBreakfastTaco
      @UniqueBreakfastTaco 5 лет назад

      @@italixgaming915 that is no different than using balancers. Perhaps a few more splits and mergers involved...when dealing with hundreds tho, how much more complex is it?
      Manifolds work fine (after a while), balancers work fine. Some of us like the challenge, other just want to build and get to end game. Neither is wrong

    • @italixgaming915
      @italixgaming915 5 лет назад

      @@UniqueBreakfastTaco It also depends on which scale you work. Feeding a small production line of 20 machines is not the same deal than burning 600 compacted coil/minute in 120 coal generators for example. Another issue is that you use more space with balancers. That is not a big deal if you have a small factory but when your factory is so large that you use a truck inside it, you don't want to waste more space.

    • @Veklim
      @Veklim 5 лет назад

      There is not one single effective use for the special splitters yet. Belts have a single lane so multi-item single belts WILL clog up the moment you have an unbalanced input. If one item finishes/backs up even a couple of seconds before it's counterpart further down the line you can end up with one item sitting on the belt stopping the other type from moving through the system. I spent SIGNIFICANT time working on a way around this, and the best I can come up with thus far is a way to delay the inevitable clogging by some margin (minutes to hours worth), but no better. Until we have more control over item logic and the ability to shut off the INPUT to a belt based on that logic, there is still not one single functional use for a programmable or smart splitter I can come up with which isn't more easily (and resource cost effectively) solved with a second belt or better arrangement.
      They sound great but as of yet they are essentially useless items which add complexity for no payoff and WILL mess up eventually.

    Dont forget alternative recipes do more than just give you a new way to make stuff, they also can increase the rate per minute of creation or in exchange for extra steps reduce the resources consumed to make the final product. That plastic one for instance changes the recipe from 12 oil for 9 plastic at 22.5 per minute for 16 oil for 9 plastic, at 33.75 per minute. That means you consume 33% more oil but make the product 50% faster. It may not be more efficient oil wise but it can get you more plastic per minute. Generally that won't be useful though.
    The uranium cell one for instance increases the input products by a lot, but in 120 seconds will make 35, which is 17.5 per minute instead of the normal recipe which only makes 10 per minute.

    Kibz, if you save your game before you see the results of the hard drive, you can reload your game for new results if you didn't like the first results. Also, there's so many hard drives and a limited number of alternative recipes, so I just researched everything. It'll get to a point where you'll run out of alternative recipes to research and it'll just give you the hard drive back

    another satifactory youtuber (not as good one as you) said that unless it is a massive build overflow just takes like 20 min and then it is balanced, so to be honest the only thing you need for loadbalancing is the recourses that you bring in...But i totally agree that it is more fun to load balance everything...good video as always

    14:35 WTF? You don't need to split and recombine your conveyors that way. Just make a bus with the three conveyors. Feed your production line with the first one. When you don't have enough resources for the next machine, just merge the second conveyor into it, and same with the third conveyor.

    • @UniqueBreakfastTaco
      @UniqueBreakfastTaco 5 лет назад +1

      Yes, the simplest way is the manifold. That's not a secret. It's no challenge, and cookie cutter for every single production line. And takes up to an hour to get to 100% efficiency

      Oh and by the way, I just noticed that 480+600+780=1860, not 1680. I assume that he has 1680 because he said that it was 16x105. So he probably has 300 (impure node) + 600 (normal node) + 780 (pure node). By the way, if you want to make 4 conveyors of 420 with that input, it's quite simple:
      1) Split the 780 in two (390 each).
      2) Split the 600 in three (2x Mk3 of 270 and 1x Mk1 of 60).
      3) Split the 300 in two (150 each).
      4) Split the Mk1 in 2 (2x30)
      5) Merge the 150 with the 270 and the 390 with the 30.
      I don't need to use an online calculator for that.

    "It's pretty complex and I couldn't explain it to you"
    You literally just split each stream into 4, then merged each corrosponding quarter from each stream.
