Nice to see you do these. They're from an Australian sketch comedy show 'Fast Forward' from about 1990. I wasn't even born when these came out, but a lot of it seems to be about worker/industrial relations. Being Aussie I understand a lot of the references made; regarding the punks from Western Sydney, then- and to a degree, now- this part of Sydney was very working class (although gentrification, urban 'yuppies' and changing economic realities are changing this demographic) and had/has somewhat of rough reputation, having higher levels of crime and antisocial behaviour. I don't know the actual statistics regarding crime in Western Sydney, but this is (at least) the public perception of it. I also recognise the legal jargon from my Legal Studies class at school.
Good thing you didn't get all the jokes, because uh,... Hoo boy. 😂 The models used for the engines were from the Ertl brand which used to sell them back in the day. For some reason the writers of the scripts couldn't be pounded to get one of all the characters, so they'd just take a random one like Percy and say it was Bertie, who yes, was a bus. Part of the joke I guess. And at this point, there's actually several female characters in the Thomas franchise now. All in all, loved these skits. I was rolling when I first saw them lmao
Great video. These were not made by me but are from Fast Forward which was an Australian sketch comedy show that ran on Channel 7 between 1989 - 1992. Sketches usually were send ups of popular tv shows and films with some original sketches in between. A distinguishing feature was the use of simulated channel surfing to switch from sketch to sketch, often in the middle of a sketch, sometimes after the punchline. Particularly a sketch would abruptly switch to a momentary segment of static, followed by another sketch, simulating the effect of the viewer repeatedly switching channels. The channel-surfing device became a distinctive hallmark of the show that helped move quickly from sketch to sketch. I love whatever the little purple character is in your profile picture, it looks fun! :D Thank you so much for explaining some of the background information and process for creating the video, it's really nice to hear it directly from you. This video had a lot of effort put into it, so it's really cool to have you provide a link on it for me to learn more. Keep up with the fantastic work. I'm really glad that someone requested some of your work. Have a good rest of your day.
I believe these shorts originate from some parody show around the mid '80s when the official Thomas show was new. (Don't think Awdry approved...) I saw the first skit as a remake by BigEngine87 around 2017/8 when the main show started going 'equality' writing out Edward and Henry with random new girls in their place.
Heyo FAN! :) I don't believe that I've seen that video before, so it should be new to me. I'll go ahead and save your comment so that I can use it in the future video. If I have any trouble finding it I'll let you know. Have you seen the video yourself? Parody videos are usually fun to watch, so I look forward to seeing what it's about. Thank you for the request and for coming by to check out this reaction, I appreciate your time. Have a good rest of your day! :]

Thomas The Chav Engine's a good follow up from this to react to. It's the same in the sense it's a skit type video but on a whole different level.
There's another Thomas parody that you should react to, it's called John Oliver The Sad Tale Of Henry
