    In the 1960's I traveled on several Italian Line ships, in addition to other lines. The Italian ships were exactly like this, after dinner music, entertainment and dancing in the ballroom (no ship had passengers dancing on the bow). These were oceanliners, seaworthy ships crossing the Atlantic, cruise ships today are nothing like oceanliners of the past. There was fine dining, fine service and a few hundred passengers who got to know each other if only for a few days, and no passenger dressed like a Walmart shopper, people had standards back then..

    • @matthew3774
      @matthew3774 2 года назад +20

      @James Allen he obviously means that people actually dressed for the occasion, rather than just wearing beach/summer clothes like people on cruises do today. In my opinion an era where the journey was equally as important as the destination. These days its all soulless "transport"

    • @rominn2184
      @rominn2184 2 года назад +3

      @James Allen ^ Considering they support a greedy abusive bloated business which treats its workers like slaves and pauperizes them and have a reputation for public misconduct and misbehavior, yeah, they pretty much are. In many cases, yeah, you are where you shop.

    What a DOLL! The first time I saw ghost ship I was mesmerized by her. And I've never heard Senza Fine like that. She is a siren. I'm sure she could lead any man down an elevator shaft if he wasn't careful

    • @girlgarde
      @girlgarde 4 года назад +11

      I like to imagine an alternate scenario where the demon that killed them all never existed and the ship made it to America in one piece. As a result, Katie got reunited with her parents and lived a long and happy life.

    • @AddableStone13
      @AddableStone13 3 года назад +5

      ryan macdonald Fun Fact: In the original first draft, Katie had a sister and her parents were on the ship, and Ferrimen’s character didn’t exist. The Ship would sink at the end from collision with some rocks, not from a C4 explosion.

    • @matthew3774
      @matthew3774 2 года назад +3

      Yet she was completely onboard with the plan of killing everyone aboard just to get some gold... all because she found Jack Ferriman charming? Suggests the facade she put on was just a front for a more dark persona underneath. Still love her character though, probably the most memorable character of the film

Este trecho do filme, ambientado em 1962, nos traz de volta todo este glamour. A personagem consegue encarnar as grandes divas da música italiana e, de fato, ela mata com o olhar!

    I personally love the song, they really gave you a creepy or eerie kind of vibe while also keeping with the tone of the film. Unfortunately the film was just violent in some ways that weren't needed, the scene after this song being one of them (mainly that scene). It's a shame though because done right this could've been one of my favourite thriller/horror movies along side "The Awakening" and others. I really loved the twist at the end, kind of saw it coming but still loved it. It actually kept me watching the film if I'm honest, because there really were some parts that just bored me half to death. The flashback scene was done really well though (minus the cable scene).

    I love the song, but I really love Francesca. Good Lord I was perplexed when I saw her in the movie. I was astonished to see such beautiful and attractive lady like her...but it is so hilarious how everyone dies

    I wonder if Francesca Rettondini had flashbacks to this movie after surviving the Costa Concordia sinking.

    It's a voice over. Song was actually sung by Monica Mancini---another best exemplar of Italian femininity.

    my girlfriend invited me to see this movie at her home with her kids and when she came out singing I was mesmerized to the point of staring without blinking. My girlfriend was not very happy.

    I was just shocked to the core at how the dancers on the outside were so visciously, horribly, sliced through at the waist, within a few moments of the key singer performing her song. The opening credits had barely ended. It's just mortifying. no cruises for me if ever in the future.

    Ms. Rettondini exemplifies the best. The term "best" implies that there are others who do not measure up. I realize that there are women in Italy who are not as attractive as this marvelous woman. I also realize that there are beautiful women all over the world. And I toast to them as well.

    Arguably the most horrific beginning to a film ever made,in fact even now as I am half awake and having just taken my medication I have my finger on the mouse and very grateful the whole beginning isn't on view here.

    I love this movie. I like big boats and big ships. I have been at sean since I was a boy, but I have not seen any abandonded ship. But to keep to the subject: I love this movie. I adore the music in it. Like sandrabell0109 I like Murphey´s Body the most. I love the music on that part

    @Gavichap I thought so, it was sung by Monica Mancini.
    That was her character in the film, actors play characters, she played an Italian performer "directly from Rome" Monica sang the song, and was credited as such, she speaks English in her little monologue thing that is the extras, though I'm not sure if that's the actress... And also, I believe they did that on purpose, the words the used, while not Italian, made sense to an English audience.

    I had to learn it phoentically, I can't speak Italian either, so it's like
    "Sen-za feenay,
    Tootra sheeny la nose-tra vee-ta,
    Senzo nott-ee-mo
    DEE dee sparrow,
    BESS on yarr ay
    Pep o tary
    Ree co dar ay..."
    It's really silly, but that is how I remember it when I sing it!
