lol I just met someone in waiting room at Dandini in westerville, OH. They said you drive from indiana to columbus and did her water pump in middle of night in the garage for $900.... you a mad man! That's so awesome of you. I just did water pump for first time and wow.... unreal. You gotta be a pro.
After two hours of watching long videos, I found the one I needed, short and exactly the information I was looking for. The Dealership wants to charge $880.00 to replace the timing chain cover gasket and I'm not Willing to pay that much. I'm new in the VW world so I need information on how to fix the Jetta my self. Thank you for your video.
I’m rebuilding my 2nd B8 A4 with the 3rd on the way. I can’t thank you enough for your content. I couldn’t have done it without you. Miss seeing newer videos but super thankful for the Naptown video library. 💪
Couldn’t agree more.. please keep the VAG videos a comin… great timing here because I just had a few misfires on my ‘13 B8 and upon pulling plugs, I saw oil in recesses #2 and #3… I’m gonna pull the cam tray and do it as you do those do you have the VW part # for the lime anaerobic gasket/ sealant?
Hello brother, just a quick question? WHAT'S is your review or opinion of the VW_CC are they reliable or any good? Or is giving you headache. i used to have the Passat 2019 -2.0t and was a very nice car super comfortable, nice to drive super economy i used to run all week from my house to work with only one tank of gas. Beautiful car and super comfortable . Not too expensive either. What you think about the cc.
Same here. I struggled a lot putting back the cover with an aftermarket gasket, because it doesn't hold the bolts tight like the original one. I would definitely go with a gasket from VW dealer instead of those Amazon trash if you haven't done that yet. Best of luck!
@@chongteng7826never ever ever use amazon parts i don’t understand the mentality of saving a buck on a shitty part of your going to to the labor lolol that’s just my 2 sense
I would say typically its the upper cover seal, magnet seal, and cam seal. its prevelant on the cover seal, but generally the seals behind are the root. \
I found that my front main or lower timing cover seal leaked after replacement. I missed the groove in the crank pulley the first time. I ended up using a speed sleeve for a new sealing surface. I had to cut the lip off the seal once it was on the pulley. then drive it on a bit more but it is working fine so far. Its also cheaper than an aftermarket crank pulley. National 99177 advance had it next day for 35 bucks, rockauto had it for 13
Hey Naptown... Spark plug threads soaked in oil on 2016 Allroad. Losing around a qt / 900-1000 miles. Have changed PCV with dealer part. Think piston rings?
I have this exact same issue where I need to replace the timing chain cover or gasket. How do you clean the valve cover/cam shaft tray without disturbing the coils or any electrical?
What would cause the camshaft tray to leak again not too many miles after being resealed and n correctly torqued? I do have a known intake cam issue where the timing is not always advancing and retarding fast enough. I didn't know if this could cause that problem or if there was just an issue with my green sealant.
Your oil filler cap is leaking. I see it all the time. It creates that puddling there by cylinder #1. It even gets oil inside the number 1 cylinder bore. How? I don’t know. But it does. It’s a 20 dollar part. Replace the entire cap, not just the seal.
No sir; so many wrongs. The oil is caused by overpressurized crankcase; aka the PCV system (not "the breather"). The upper (plastic) cover is NOT and has NEVER been an issue, nor it's gaskets. If PCV isn't functioning properly, good chance the main gasket seals are blow through. Another to check, is it consuming oil?
You are Correct, I had a A4 2010 with Caeb engine, I rebuilt the whole engine, because of broken piston. Horrible design, Don't unloosen that crank shaft bolt!! no key way crank snout here. They make a metal water pump upgrade instead of the plastic one. But its still A Pain in the Ass to deal with. I bought the car with bad motor and rebuilt it And SOLD that shit to someone else. It ran great and no codes and was a really clean car when I got done. These engines are BAD about oil consumption with the oil rings. Stay Away!! I put new rods, pistons, gaskets and timing chain kit and water pump etc. It was basically brand new when I got done. I put like 20 miles on and got the emissions done and sold it.

Nooo way 😂😂😂😂😂😂 the seal cost me £20 in the uk (25 usd) and a socket set
Highly doubt that, cover literary takes two seconds to replace it's probably the whole service with the reseal lol

Saved lives bro no deep research needed!!!
Funny this video popped up as I'm actually in the middle of doing that exact job on my VW 2.0 TSI CC

I have some sort or leak too up there. Thanks for this info!
Name of the sealer or part number? Keep these videos coming 💪
that’s a fancy looking 1.8t
Can you do a video of an in-vehicle valve cover gasket repair? ⚙️
Camshaft tray
Nevermind. Looks like you did it!!

Hey nap, can you do a video showing us how to smoke test the 2.0t for air leaks. Please and thank you
Remove intake filter then install smoke machine in pipe before maf sensor

Do you have a video of replacing the valve cover?
I changed the f-ing tail lights in my A3 and the plastic securing things broke off on both sides. Audi plastic went downhill fast.
How often should you replace the PVC breather?
Intake clips broke and I could hear them trickle down when trying to remove air box. Are these at risk to do damage?
I’m here in Indy I have a 07 a4 similar problems and more

Great video as always👍
There’s oil on the plug threading is that bad?
This “Valve cover gasket” gave me a problem. Oil spread all over the engine and made its way to the starter. Now have to change the starter out.
I have this exact same issue where I need to replace the timing chain cover or gasket. How do you clean the valve cover/cam shaft tray without disturbing the coils or any electrical?
Just remove the coils, and stuff rags or foam in the bores. Then you can liberally start degreaser and water and leave it squeaky clean.
I done that on my B6, was a much simpler job then.

We call it a cam cover but cam tray works too I guess.
Where is the knock sensor please make a video
I’ve found tannerite works best for VW and Audi issues.
When they have a tray you know there gonna leak
I'll have my Ford Barra engine anyday over these disposable motors
Looks like a sloppy oil top off.
Why do you call it a "tray" lol, it's not a plate bro lol

Bad engine is not good VW 😭
Or don't buy a trash audi
Please make a video showing how to open the hood of an Audi A4 B8 with a broken cable.
Greetings from Switzerland.
That was an easy one, just posted, you owe me like 10 subscribers now

You'll be constantly fixing that 2.0T garbage..wait until u ses the water pump design driven by a rubber band off the.balance shaft..garbage engine
