The thing with Lila is that she has the potential to be a really solid manipulative villain. The problem is how almost every character around her becomes more stupid just for her to work as a villain.
Give me one character from the show whose potential is not 90% wasted -Marinette dreamed to be a fashion designer but they focused more on her being an obsessive stalking creep -Adrien is a model, which profession goes along well with Mari's dream, but barely make them bond over it, and he has no enemy other than Hawkmoth, whom he shares with Ladybug. He's literally a male version of damsel in distress -Emilie supposed to be important, but 5 seasons in and we still have no clue about the character other than she's nice (whats this, Zoe 2.0?) -Chloe's mean attitude could've been more focused on her mom's treatment on her to make her less one dimensional -Alya could've always sided with Mari, scold her when her stalking behavior went out of control, and show us what REAL FRIENDSHIP is -Nino could've help Adrien socializing and bond over their different taste of music, maybe even make one together, even if its bad -Lila could've been Adrien's enemy by stealing Gabe's attention from him, so Adrien also has conflict My fingers are tired, but the list can go on
@@fatherplatypus2316 The last one is a really good point other than Lila having a crush on Adrien, and it actually would've made sense. Lila having a crush on him really makes no sense to me.
To be fair, it's a kids' show. Stupid lies are more understandable for children. That doesn't make her lies or writing make sense or be good though, of course
@@kikherne739 no, no, no! this ready-made excuse hasn't held up for quite a while! Miraculous hasn't been a children's show for a LONG TIME! we have a professional mythomaniac, abusive parents, artificial children, a man who is literally dying killed by his own son! and also to go further I don't think the marichat kiss scenes in exaltation are that "childish"! when you choose mature plots you OWN it and give them mature development! every time there is a complaint about nonsense like this, someone says the famous "it's for kids" as if we don't know! It has essentially become a way to justify bad writing and that is intolerable! there's a way to show lila's manipulative side without her spouting stupid lies and our heroes praising her genius all the time as if the writers themselves wanted to be convinced lol. even my little pony is doing better at this level (trixxy, sunset shimmer, starlight). Instead of spouting out big-as-hell lies it can create misunderstandings that are harder to spot and defuse, or re-create crude video-like fake evidence. and speaking of that since the events of the day of the heroes it is completely wtf that the characters take what lila says for talking about the gospel! Alya I'm not even going to talk about it 😣😣😣 if I have to say that Lila is competent it will be because I saw it, not because the heroes say so or that all the other people are stupid in this universe! its only merit is the plan with natalie everything else was rubbish!
Alya knows that: 1. Mari is Ladybug so Lila couldn’t have been best friends with her and 2. Lila’s grandma’s pendant isn’t really her pendant because it’s a copy of HER miraculous that wasn’t seen in the public eye for centuries. Yet Alya still doesn’t acknowledge that Lila at the least has the tendency to fib. It’s so infuriating.
I truly don’t know if this is just foolishness on the writers part or if they genuinely forgot. I’m thinking it’s the last one because I don’t know why they’d purposefully overlook that.
@@LZ2ME I don’t know either. Even their forgetfulness causes problems in the show. Like how kwamis aren’t supposed to be heard or seen on technology, but Mari and Alya communicating with them on the phone is so important to the story that without it, Adrien and Mari would still be stuck in the elevator unless they reveal to eachother their identities, Hawkmoth wouldn’t have gained a suspicion that Alya has closer ties to Ladybug, Alya wouldn’t have been given the Fox Miraculous permanently, and wouldn’t have to hide it from Nino which wouldn’t have changed Mari’s trust in her. And that was ONE contradiction that had such a huge impact on the show. Don’t even get me started on everything bad in Destruction.
I swear Lila could go around telling the other students that Marinette is a "Vampire", and the next thing you know they're chasing after the poor girl with garlic necklaces and big wooden stakes.
I think that Marinette's entire class, including her teacher conveniently forgot about the part where Chloe harassed her for years and Lila tried to get her expelled from school, especially Nino and Ayla were so ooc in this episode it was so frustrating, she needs new friends
I mean seriously marinette I can understand because Alya never really saw the real side of Lila however adrien the giga chad that is friends with almost everyone and has spoken about three lies in the entire time he has been in school and that he can be a bit of a smooth brain and yet when he says that she is a PATHELOGICAL LIAR nobody thinks it’s real !!!!!!HOW!!!!!!
Remember how the first episode of S3 started; when the entire class turned against Marinette as a result of Lila’s lies? Yeah. Starting to think Marinette’s friends and classmates don’t know what it means to take things with a grain of salt. When it comes to a classmate like Marinette, whom they’ve known longer than someone like Lila.
I really understand that Lila is suspose to be well liked by the class. However, it really frustrates me that they don't seemingly use their brains. Like Alya not only knows Marinette secret, but sides with Lila stating 'you shouldn't have called her stupid' when literally everyone knows Mari never even said that. It just seems so unlikely, and I know we can sometimes suspend our disbelief but really?
I know! Remember when her WHOLE CLASS believed Lila, the girl they just met, over Mari whom most of them have known for years when Lila claimed to be pushed down the stairs. Mari's not perfect but damn her classmates are lowkey shit friends.
@@krazykookie23 Yeah I don't understand that either. Because even if Mari hates Lila so much, they also know that she isn't the type to get physical. I just think sometimes it's for the sake of plot rather then something somewhat believable.
I feel like the only good lies about Marionette was about how she only gets nervous around Adrien because that was actually a good lie about her and framing her to get expelled.
Lila would feel threatening as a manipulator if people didn’t lose 100 IQ points the moment she walks into a room. It’s like the worst of fanfiction, when everyone acts super out of character for the plot to work. Ugh.
Same. You’d think Alya would’ve FINALLY caught on to Lila’s lies by now. Especially when she lied about being Ladybug’s friend all the way back in S1. And Alya KNOWS who Ladybug is now. I swear, the writers really love turning off character’s IQ’s when Lila is present in an episode.
I think the idea of Lila convincing the class that Marinette called her stupid is a good one, as good manipulators can convince others (even in court) of lies by gradually building to them from skewed truth. The execution of this idea didn't give Lila the time or emotional control needed for it to feel believable.
Everyone was so upset when Adrien told Marinette to not expose Lila- and here we have him admit it was the wrong choice- but Marinette is gracious because she loves that he wants to give people the chance to change and he sees goodness that may not actually be there. they were a really supportive couple and talked through it like pros.
It still bothers me SO MUCH that Alya still trusts Lila even though Marinette uncovered her lies multiple times, especially the fact that she was close friends with Ladybug
The opening sequence where Lila lies about her being fired and then getting hugs and the whole class claps is straight out of r/thathappened material XD
Oh this episode hurts. Alya and Nino were annoying af. Lila is a mary sue. But her plan with Nathalie actully got me give SOME of the respect back to her-
@@anasofia4692 She's a Mary Sue because the writers always make everyone believes her lies even though they're stupid. A Mary Sue doesn't have to be a good person.
@@anasofia4692 A mary sue isn't just a not evil character. Lila ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS tells lies that everyone belives. No matter how smart the characters are, no matter how dumb the lies are, everyone always belives them, and never dbouts her. Realisticly, some of the class would dbout her 101%. But her actions are basically forced writing all the time. I'm not saying I hate her though, she's pretty good, but this episode is her mary sue behaviour at it's very peak.
I really hate Ayla sometimes like she literally knows Marinette is Ladybug which only proves that Lila is a liar as Marinette can affirm Lila and Ladybug were never friends and yet Ayla is still on Lila’s side it just makes me want to slap her across the face
First, how the hell does Alya not realize that even though Marinette exposed her secret indenty to Alya, she hasn't put it together that Lila is a liar and manipulator by now. And second, I thought we already knew from "Timetagger" that Lila was the next "Hawk Moth" after Gabriel. I'm genuinely intrigued on how Lila will bring Gabriel down and (God willing) a possible identity reveal for Ladybug and Chat Nior by the end of season 5. Because I'm holding my breath for Sabrina redemption arc than Chloe at this point (and yes I'm still salty and probably will be for life on how they shit the bed on Chloe's redemption arc.)
Something I noticed from this episode is that Gabriel lived a very similar life to how Marinettes is now. This kind of makes Gabriel a dark mirror for Marinette. Showing what she could become if she goes down the wrong path
Which honestly just shows that it was a HUGE missed opportunity for Gabriel and Marinette to have a mentorship of sorts so Marinette can actually contribute to the plot of the story. It would've been so interesting.
This episode would be a 10/10 if it weren't for the way the characters are influenced by Lila, it's kinda cringe, even Alya doesn't believe Marinette and even compares the situation with her post as Escarabela which is completely different and a super important secret...
It’s very concerning how dismissive everyone is about Lila and Chloe. Given Marinette extremely forgiving nature, when Marinette says someone is trouble you should at least be suspicious. While I can somewhat understand Lila’s case, Chloe is a different story since everyone knows all the stuff she’s done
At this point a lot of fans agree that Bustier is a shitty teacher (just like most of us agree Damocles is a shitty principal) and I really pity her future kid, if they ever get bullied she's gonna teach them that they have to be the bigger person and that their feelings matter less than their bullies's or some crap like that. I really wonder what kind of childhood the ML writters had to come to the conclusion that a "good" teacher can be illustrated by somoene like Bustier. And I wonder what kind of friendships they have/had to think Alya and Nino deserved to be called Marinette and Adrien's vest friend after this episode ? A best friend take the time to listen to you and give you the benefit of the doubt instead of assuming you're being jealous or being a doormat agreeing with everything your love partner say. Really Marinette's and Adrien's classmates sucked so much during that episode that they were being shown closer to Lila's and Chloé's side rather than Adrinette's in the endcard.
They honestly should give him a place in the team his reviews are amazing!! Also that time when Lila lies about catnoir and ladybug coming from planet Saturn made me laugh to death especially when the picture appears
12:35 Marinete says herself that she let Lila have what she wants to show who she really is, so they probably voted for her to make sure she would win.
"I love how ride or die these friends can be" Me: Remember that one time the whole class believed that Lila, the girl they just met, was pushed by Mari, the girl they assumably had known since grade school and has been shown to have a good reputation. Yeah, I feel like these friend are more flippity floppity.
Since back in Season 3 when I first watched Timetagger I always believe that Lila will become the next Hawk Moth in the future. Since Lila is devious and manipulates other people to believe her lies and now in Season 5 Lila is becoming more evil than Gabriel Agreste.
Ever since that one scene in "Emotion", I feel like Gabe is bullying a dragon when it comes to Lila, and the same goes with this episode. Like I know that scene is supposed to cathartic since Lila is denied but considering how powerful and smart this writers has made her, I feel like Gabe is just digging his own grave. Yeah, just bully that character that can turn everyone against you with just a word, surely that would go well.
I guess part of it is the idea that he's going insane and losing his ability to think about things clearly other than saving his own life and getting revenge on Ladybug and Cat Noir?
Yeah I bet Thomas Astruc has actually never met a 15 year old girl before.. especially the newer seasons made Chloe and Lila into incredibly cartoony villains.. the only way they can explain this, is if they reveal that Lila is actually in her 20's or something..
I haven't been keeping up with the show in recent seasons, but Lila being in her 20's was exactly the impression I got from her on her debut. She looks older and less child-like to me for some reason. Now that I am older I can see how messed up it would be for a 20yo to just pretend to be a middle schooler, crash on a teenager, and then continue to pressure that teenager romantically under the false pretense of her being a kid his age. Just a textbook pedo. Probably not something they would put in a show intended for kids
Lyla having three moms, just makes me picture her being like Roger from American Dad. LOL XD Just her pretending to be multiple people all at once and hopping back and forth between character personas.
Lila is awful but honestly she carried this episode! For her it was a win win situation. She got everyone to turn on Mari, became president, and got Gab’s secrets. She’s an awesome villain! Better than Gabe!
Let’s be honest, Lila doesn’t even need to be akumatized to use that power, cuz all her lies are utterly ridiculous and everyone in this show are idiots.
The whole election plot made no sense to me if you use references from past episodes. Marinette already pointed out Chloe's untrustworthiness and selfish attitude (not to mention stealing) when she ran against her in Season 1 (Darkblade) and Adrien can attest to Lila's pathological lying since she tried to ruin his reputation in Season 2 (Chameleon). Even with Lila's akumatized power to brainwash everyone, their classmates cannot be that stupid as to vote for these slimeballs as opposed to Marinette and Alya, who have proven to always have their friends backs. At the very least, it would not be unanimous, because Marinette, Alya (who wouldn't vote against themselves), Adrien, Nino (who would support their girlfriends) and Sabrina (who has been betrayed as Chloe's former running mate) would definitely NOT vote for them ever. This plotline is pure garbage and these two creeps have a long overdue comeuppance coming. Chloe should be shipped off to live with her mother and stepfather (Zoe's father) in New York where bragging that your father is Mayor of Paris has no clout whatsoever. Lila needs to be proven for the nutjob she is and put in a psych ward forever since she's a danger to others.
Why is it when Lila is on screen everyone's IQ drops down to a pebble? Like seriously why does everyone takes HER side and not Marinette's side who they you know... More longer than Lila of all people. Is that Lila's secret power all along, to make people dumb...To be far it makes to much sense it would explain why people think Mari is Hawkmoth.
At first I had assumed that Lila had gay moms who had been divorced and got really excited at that idea (it's rare to see representation of gay relationships that also aren't perfect, as well as a queer and disabled woman) but it really doesn't make sense that Lila seems to have three moms who know nothing about each other? Like does her school paperwork get done by all of them or just her birth mother? Is Lila legally adopted by all of these women? Do they all have an elaborate guardianship agreement? I don't know about French law, but I'm pretty sure children who live with an adult for an extended period of time need to be granted some level of legal guardianship by either the legal parent(s) or the court. Someone please tell me, I'm so confused.
When Smarty said: "lila has two moms" I first tought about her having lesbian moms too, but than I said: This is miracolous, they would never show an actual lesbian couple, like, they usually just hint it.
I have a theory, personally! Lila obviously is an attention-seeker, so I think that she was abused or at least neglected by her biological mother, so she left. She would have found a few mother figures, and finally having all and more of the love she never had as a child, she changed her name and started forming relations with her new families. She didn't want to make them think that she didn't care for them, so she went between their homes, claiming that she was simply going back to her actual house- telling them that she was in a seriously unsafe household, but could not get out (which was true before she found these three).
Also, Adrien tries to find the good in everyone, even those who don't have any. But if even Adrien agrees Lila is sus, that should tell you something. Also isn't Alya meant to be smart????*growls in frustration*
8:40 there should be no reason marinette should go after Lyla because of the simple fact that the LAST TIME she went to talk to Lyla alone, Lyla accused Mari of throwing her down the stairs and nearly got her expelled. So no, I don't care how hurt her feeling are, I wouldn't go talk to her unless there were 3 others with me at all times.
I once had a narcissist in my life whose lies and manipulation I could always see through but my friends never did and just thought i was paranoid..very similar to how nino and alya believe lyla as well so since I had something like that happen to me It didnt seem forced to me at all that everyone believed her
Yeah it was sad and pathetic to see Alya and Nino act the way they did but its not surprising because they both have the same character flaws where they're stubborn and don't want to admit that they're wrong. Rocketear is a good episode demonstrating that flaw with Nino, and Lady WiFi, and Ladybug episode are another example of Alya being stubborn and trying to prove that she's right about whatever she jumped to conclusion at that time. Honestly I had friend like that so stubborn and never wanting to admit that they're were wrong that it hurt even when the evidence was right in her face and at time I've wondered if she did to feel superior and smarter than me. All I know is that when Lila does get exposed Alya and the rest of the class has some serious apologies to do and for them to rethink everything they know if the want to grow as people.
At this point. I’m convinced Lila somehow got the cat and Lady bug miraculous and reset the timeline so everyone can believe her lies. That’s literally the only thing I can think of to make this make any sense, and since Adrien and Marinette have the 2 miraculous to make that happen, they’re able to see past her bull crap idk
Well the good news is the writers are finally showing Ms. Bustier's pregnancy from the New York special from all the way back at the beginning of the season.
Ngl, I assumed their sisters knew that Chloe doesn’t do any of her work cuz idk how you can lie this hard the entire time your in school and even if they always knew, Chloe would be like,I’ll call my father about that 😂
I seriously can't watch episodes with Lila in it. They're so unbelievable and unrealistic. Nino and Alya are best friends with Marinette, she's shown them proof and her logic is sound. The fact they still believe Lila makes her plot armor blaringly obvious. I understand dumbing it down for the child audience but this is insanely stupid.
This episode confirms Gabriel's real name is "Gabi Grassette," with Grassette being a sort of anagram for "Agreste." (Which is an actual last name some people have by the way.)
12:48 in this scene Lila also breaks her Alliance to ensure that Gabriel won't know what she's doing, not to mention the hatred she has developed so she probably doesn't want to see anything from Him...
I think when it comes to Lila's mothers, the mother from the train station and the mother from a while ago are possibly sisters who share responsibilities as they could both work outside of pairs, or one of them could be her half-mother who once shared a husband with the mother from a while ago, while the mother who shows up in this episode could be the partner of one of the other two mothers.
Lila doesn’t deserve to be the next big villain. Most of her lies and plans make no sense and they only work because whenever she’s around, everyone else apart from Marinette and Adrien become stupid.
Lila shouldn't be able to act like it was unfair that she wasn't there on election day, she wasn't a part of the school yet. They had elections in Darkblade and Lila didn't join the class until Volpina.
But wouldn't that mean that her crush on Adrian is it's illegal since since she a adult flirting with a chlid and didn't she kiss him one time in a eposide um yhea no I think she a orphan who dosent have parents and this is her way of cooping
Can we just talk about the fact Alya is still using the Alliance despite what we've seen happen so far in Kwami's Choice? It just doesn't make sense for her to continue to use it when it almost compromised the Miraculous.
Um... I feel like the writers forgot their own plot. I mean, Alya knows that Marinette is Ladybug, which means she knows that Ladybug hates Lila and should have realized by now that the interview about Lila and Ladybug being best friends is nothing but a lie. SO WHY THE HELL DOES ALYA STILL FALL FOR HER CRAP?! I wouldn't necessarily call it a plot hole, but something is fundamentally wrong here.
I have 2 theories: a.I think that the rings are a powerup version of the miraculous becuz Genesis created a object with powers,Clout can be blasted like a energy projectile & Venom can be blasted like a projectile . 2.I think Monarch intentionally cataclysmed himself so that the Butterfly miraculous can absorb some of the energy so it can be extracted to disintegrate the miraculous into dust and later transform into rings.
I personally like the role Lila’s character plays in the story. She’s cunning and moves quick, but if there’s anything I hate, it’s how the other characters are dumbed down to believe her 😭,,, Lila has actually said so many inconsistent lies it’s ridiculous that none of the classmates, not even Alya, trusts Marinette or Adrien 💀
I agree with you that this was a very good episode. A bit over the top with what kind of lies Lila can get away with to the random people, but in the end, it sets up her role nicely. Some things I like to point out: - I agree with you that Alya and Nino should at least be more distrustful towards Lila. Again, at the finale of season 1, Lila was exposed as a liar to Adrien by Ladybug. Why doesn't Adrien bring that up? Nino would believe his best friend, and since Alya knows Marinette is Ladybug, she would have her proof that she lied back then. - I found it hilarious that Gabe tought "Lila Rossi is not angry at me, so there's no harm in akumatizing her". Oh how dumb Gabe can be
It's just insane to me how good season 5 of Miraculous Ladybug is! Another 10/10 for me, i'm speechless. - okay, so let me start right at the beginning of the episode: LILA has multiple mom's, WHATTTT???!!!, how did she do that, tf. Is her name even Lila Rossi, does she have multiple identities too...., uhhh, this is getting interesting, can't wait for the next episode, that's for sure. Does Gabriel even know Lila's true background..., hmm🤔 - It's just in general so cool that we are seeing more from Lila this season! The character development is just amazing in this show. Love it! - AND SHOUT OUT to SAMG for animating this one as well!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 So far they did: 510:Transmission, 516:Protection, 518:Emotion and 520:Revelation - I know it's quite insane how ALYA still believes that Lila is a good person, but I feel like from her point of view I can understand why she thinks like that..., Lila is pretty good at lying and manipulating people, we honestly can't deny that..., and she also rejected the akuma at the end, you know what I mean, like Lila is intentionally giving everybody pretty good reasons for liking her even more..., so i honestly can't blame Alya..., as long as Alya still protects Marinette and stays her best friend, I don't have a problem with her thinking Lila is a good person... - This episode for some reason reminded me so much of the episode LADYBUG from season 3 (ALSO insane episode btw, 😢, I kinda miss Mayura tbh), but Lila really, yet again manages to get what she wants... - And can we talk about the fact that Gabriel literally replaced her with Kagami😂😂😂, OMG, that was hilarious..., but even then Lila used that information as an advantage and turned herself into a victim in order to win sympathy from others..., see, she's really smart...AHHHH, so good. - I liked how Gabriel refused to akumatize Lila in the first round in order to protect himself..., that was good and smart. - And I was wondering since season 1 at when tf are they going to talk about about the fact that Sabrina is being treated as a slave by Chloe and always does her homework..., they finally addressed it in this episode, and that was great..., but also a great opportunity for Lila to destroy Marinette and to make the allience with Chloe stronger...😬 - And the way Lila accused Marinette for appearently calling her an idiot, OMG...🤣, like how tf did she come up with that idea so quickly..., Lila is insane😂 - Seeing Adrien stand by Marinette's side was nice, but I can see why people would think that he's only doing that because Marinette is his girlfirend, you know what I mean? - Hoaxer was really cool! Her powers reminded me a bit of Robustus tbh😅..., but the Lies / Illusions she created were quite funny..., like Marinette being Monarch?!🤣🤣🤣 - It was great to see Scarabella again... - OHHHHH, AND NATHALIE...., Lila knows literally EVERYTHING KNOW..., all secrets are getting revealed😬..., that was so smart of her... - THE END-CARD LOOKS SO GOOD BTW..., Adrien vs Chloe and Marinette vs Lila, and the class in the middle looks worried, same with Chloe😧
For anyone confused about Lila having multiple moms, I'd say she's probably been in foster care or is pretending to have to be there due to her parents just giving her up as a babu. No idea for certain this is just a theory I have due to this review
The main problem with Lila is the fact that instead of being manipulative or really lie with talent , each she open her mouth , everyone believes her 100% without question because the plot . The writers don't know how to do a character like this , so each time she lies, they make the other characters stupid af , loosing their common sens . They shoold have dropped this character for a long time , or make her progress in a certain direction or some crap (like making her a shape shifter or something like that) .
I really hate when they make Lila relevant to an episode. Because whenever they do, Marinette and Adrien are the only ones who have brains. Especially with Ayla, who’s Marinette’s closest friend, instantly believes Lila. I like Ayla, but whenever Lila is involved in the plot, she becomes harder to like.
Why does literally everyone in Paris own an Alliance Ring? They legit all have Smart Phones already, and the Alliance Ring doesn’t seem to offer any unique features at all. If anything, they should have abandoned it by now because Monarch is literally using it against Paris. You’d think Ladybug would’ve spread that news by now. I guess not, actually, because she’s dumb.
If lila becomes the next villain my question isn't what she would do because it's obvious she would capture adrien and punish marinette. I would wonder what felix, his mom and natalie do. The people who turned against gabriel, would they support this new villain or go against lila as well. Lila being lila would obviously convince one or all of them to join her, but that's just a theory.
Just when I thought the writing was really improving (Kagami’s development has been really cool to see and Felix feels like he’s got a bit more depth to him), they make everyone really dumb to make Lila seem smart. Most of the time I can suspend my disbelief but when Alya and Nino didn’t believe ADRIEN for god’s sake 😭 I don’t think other characters need to be dumbed down to make Lila seem better, like her whole plan with Natalie is actually decent but in the classroom… yikes. Also they need to explain her family situation properly. Also, can we ever get a reason for her actions. Am I forgetting or is there a real reason why she hates Marinette so much or especially why she lies all time, even to people who are meant to be her parents?? Also Marinette in this episode was cringe. She was finally improving but when it comes to Chloe and especially Lila she just rages instead of… idk trying something to actually expose her or get footage or something?? Anything?? This episode did set up some interesting points like Sabrina potentially being able to out Chloe and Lila (if she has the guts) and Lila having all of that dirt on Gabriel. However some of the execution, especially in the first half dragged the episode down a bit, so I would say the episode was decent, but definitely not going to be one of the best imo.
Almost every problem with this show could be solved by 3 things. 1) the writers had a more critical discussion of what they wanted to write and how to get there. This would avoid the issues with random/backwards character development. 2) whatever they thought to set as the target age demographic should be shifted 2-5 years higher. This way they’re forced to write more believable situations and characters. They have the making for a good show, it just needs to be presented differently. 3) air the episodes in order. Like honestly what the hell?????
In the defense of Miss Bustie, she’s always been the one teacher with a heart of gold. So her wanting to help a student that is falling behind makes sense. Even if Cloe is completely unrepentant about it. And let’s not forget that pretty much all the teachers are useless in this series, especially when it comes to Cloe. Both the science teacher just punishes everyone except Cloe whenever she does something wrong. And Mr. Damacleas falls like a house of cards whenever Cloe threatens to get her father involved and just gives Cloe whatever she wants. So Miss Busteie. Is hardly the worst.
Ok even tho ppl went along with Lila's lies unrealisticly at times, i felt that she was an incredible character. The episode where Sabrina tried to expose her but Lila turned it on her was actually complex
Perhaps Lila’s a senti-monster who has the power to make others believe her lies, and there’s some sort of way that Adrien and Lila and a few others can see through her lies
Every time Lila is the focus of an episode's plot, Nino and especially Alya become absolutely insufferable. I'm fine with the rest of the class believing her, but Alya is straight up not allowed to trust Lila after learning that Marinette is Ladybug. On a different note, Marinette's speech in front of the class was straight up wrong. She mentions how Ladybug reached out to Chloé, and she still didn't change, but she neglected to say that she WAS actually slowly changing, but the reason for Chloé going back to being a dick is that Ladybug gave up on her, which caused Chloé to give up on Ladybug in return. Like, there are some things that I feel like the show straight up ignores ever happened sometimes, and the biggest example of this is that Chloé teamed up with Hawk Moth specifically because Ladybug wasn't there to help her save her parents. Her whole deal of accepting akumatization was that Hawk Moth set her parents free. She was manipulated. Just like how Hawk Moth manipulates everyone else, except more direct, and this time it stuck with her, unlike most ppl who forgive and forget after being deakumatized. Hell, wasn't that the same reason why Lila turned from just a liar for attention to a person who hates Ladybug with a burning passion and wants to see her fall, because Ladybug herself wronged her? They were both enemies Ladybug/Marinette created herself.
so, in fact, Chloe should not have become a superhero, since she found the talisman only by chance.. And with Lila, she did everything right, because there was no need to lie to her.
there is not just that!marinette KEEPS talking about Chloe as being a nuisance and it's quite awkward: "she's the problem", "I'm tired of wasting my time in vain" etc! this is not a good way to present things to children, once again lacking in nuance and tact! and there are also questionable dialogues like this: "she has no difficulties, she has privileges" my brain twitched the first time I heard that then I understood where that came from was coming! "she's not abused, she's rich" is the answer that Thomas gave to all the fans who pointed out the psychological problems raised in chloe during season 2 (lack of maternal love, low self-esteem, problem abandonment, negligence) those who have literally been erased from existence since season 4. I might have missed it if it hadn't been for Lila's lying speech about her sense of uselessness which (unless I'm paranoid) is a huge middle finger to Chloe's scene in Malediktor! Thomas uses his show squarely to settle his accounts on Twitter! not to mention marinette repeating over and over (like Thomas) how Chloe was given multiple chances to change, which in my humble opinion is FAR from the truth! (Chloe's damnation is a failure largely because of that I think) I don't support the harassment of writers on the networks but given his attitude I can understand why some fans are so dismissive of him!
@@nonzamemange7612Still doesn't make sense regarding the fact that Lila worked for Adrien's DAD,which means spent time w each others, that also means Adrien knows her better than anybody else in the whole school, there's rlly no excuses for Alya to believe Lila over mari when she LITTERALY TOLD HER THAT SHE IS LADYBUG,N the fact that they don't believe Adrien either makes it even worse.
Hawk moth: i’m giving you the power to tell crazy lies with no proof and they’ll be taking us a truth, even if they sound crazy. Me: sooooooo nothings changed.
yeah, the tally’s on the board made zero sense to me. Like Adrien, the guy who has been and will be on her side forever? and he didn’t even vote for her? weird
The thing with Lila is that she has the potential to be a really solid manipulative villain. The problem is how almost every character around her becomes more stupid just for her to work as a villain.
Give me one character from the show whose potential is not 90% wasted
-Marinette dreamed to be a fashion designer but they focused more on her being an obsessive stalking creep
-Adrien is a model, which profession goes along well with Mari's dream, but barely make them bond over it, and he has no enemy other than Hawkmoth, whom he shares with Ladybug. He's literally a male version of damsel in distress
-Emilie supposed to be important, but 5 seasons in and we still have no clue about the character other than she's nice (whats this, Zoe 2.0?)
-Chloe's mean attitude could've been more focused on her mom's treatment on her to make her less one dimensional
-Alya could've always sided with Mari, scold her when her stalking behavior went out of control, and show us what REAL FRIENDSHIP is
-Nino could've help Adrien socializing and bond over their different taste of music, maybe even make one together, even if its bad
-Lila could've been Adrien's enemy by stealing Gabe's attention from him, so Adrien also has conflict
My fingers are tired, but the list can go on
@@fatherplatypus2316 The last one is a really good point other than Lila having a crush on Adrien, and it actually would've made sense. Lila having a crush on him really makes no sense to me.
To be fair, it's a kids' show. Stupid lies are more understandable for children. That doesn't make her lies or writing make sense or be good though, of course
@@kikherne739 no, no, no! this ready-made excuse hasn't held up for quite a while! when you choose mature plots you OWN it and give them mature development! every time there is a complaint about nonsense like this, someone says the famous "it's for kids" as if we don't know!

Alya knows that:
1. Mari is Ladybug so Lila couldn’t have been best friends with her
and 2. Lila’s grandma’s pendant isn’t really her pendant because it’s a copy of HER miraculous that wasn’t seen in the public eye for centuries.
Yet Alya still doesn’t acknowledge that Lila at the least has the tendency to fib. It’s so infuriating.
It really is frustrating.
EXACTLY. I swear this is the most irritating thing.
THANK YOU! Journalist/reporter/detective Alya my foot.
Honestly, I would actually watch that part just to laugh. No supervillain though.

Ive never seen this level of laziness in writing of a show
Remember how the first episode of S3 started; when the entire class turned against Marinette as a result of Lila’s lies?

Ugh.
Alya and Nino believing Lila has been a plot point for the last three seasons and every single time it’s been brought up I’ve hated it.
Alya at the very least should realise 💀 she knows marinette is ladybug so mari should tell her about lila lying at the park
It’s ironic how she used to called Adrien dense, MEANWHILE
I don’t get how Alya is so eager to believe Lila which is both confusing and embarrassing
The writers are stupid and they don't keep up with the stories and characters.
Yeah.... so great...
It still bothers me SO MUCH that Alya still trusts Lila even though Marinette uncovered her lies multiple times, especially the fact that she was close friends with Ladybug

I agree, that plan was very smart
The only redeeming quality of this episode is her plan with Nathalie. Even i have to admit, thats really smart of her
How is Lila a mary sue if she's a villain tho? She lies all the time so she isn't perfect.
@@anasofia4692 She's a Mary Sue because the writers always make everyone believes her lies even though they're stupid. A Mary Sue doesn't have to be a good person.

Ikr they're so alike
Which honestly just shows that it was a HUGE missed opportunity for Gabriel and Marinette to have a mentorship of sorts so Marinette can actually contribute to the plot of the story. It would've been so interesting.
This episode would be a 10/10 if it weren't for the way the characters are influenced by Lila, it's kinda cringe, even Alya doesn't believe Marinette and even compares the situation with her post as Escarabela which is completely different and a super important secret...

While I can somewhat understand Lila’s case, Chloe is a different story since everyone knows all the stuff she’s done
I agree, Lila’s ability to manipulate people is so forced that the show is not as enjoyable to watch

12:35 Marinete says herself that she let Lila have what she wants to show who she really is, so they probably voted for her to make sure she would win.

Lila having multiple lives would exsplain why she is absent for large periods of time.
Since back in Season 3 when I first watched Timetagger I always believe that Lila will become the next Hawk Moth in the future. Since Lila is devious and manipulates other people to believe her lies and now in Season 5 Lila is becoming more evil than Gabriel Agreste.
They literally hint at it at the end of the episode when Lila babysits Chris and Alyas sisters
Yep, Gab is screwing himself. By dint of tickling the tail of a dragon, we inevitably end up waking it up.
LOL XD
Just her pretending to be multiple people all at once and hopping back and forth between character personas.
Correction: Chameleon was the first episode of Season 3, not 2. Sorry.
Funny how you say that.....
Two words: lazy writing

12:48 in this scene Lila also breaks her Alliance to ensure that Gabriel won't know what she's doing, not to mention the hatred she has developed so she probably doesn't want to see anything from Him...
That was clever move on her part.
Almost at the end of the school year? This timeline’s driving me nuts.
I was thinking Lila is some kind of secret agents . Furthermore, I think she's a grown adult pretending to be a kid.
The first part I don't agree with but the second part sounds interesting 🤔
Wait if Lila is a grown adult that would make her a pedophile for hitting on Adrien.
💔💔🙁👍👍
I have 2 theories:
a.I think that the rings are a powerup version of the miraculous becuz Genesis created a object with powers,Clout can be blasted like a energy projectile & Venom can be blasted like a projectile .
2.I think Monarch intentionally cataclysmed himself so that the Butterfly miraculous can absorb some of the energy so it can be extracted to disintegrate the miraculous into dust and later transform into rings.
4:09 „How does have so little self worth…. HM!“ Bro not you coming for poor Sabrina lol 😂😭😭

I agree with you that this was a very good episode. A bit over the top with what kind of lies Lila can get away with to the random people, but in the end, it sets up her role nicely.
Some things I like to point out:
- I agree with you that Alya and Nino should at least be more distrustful towards Lila.
Oh how dumb Gabe can be
Lila carried this episode and Chloe carried the comedy, honestly my favs
It's just insane to me how good season 5 of Miraculous Ladybug is!
Another 10/10 for me, i'm speechless.
- okay, so let me start right at the beginning of the episode: LILA has multiple mom's, WHATTTT???!!!, how did she do that, tf. Is her name even Lila Rossi, does she have multiple identities too...., uhhh, this is getting interesting, can't wait for the next episode, that's for sure. Does Gabriel even know Lila's true background..., hmm🤔
- It's just in general so cool that we are seeing more from Lila this season! The character development is just amazing in this show. Love it!
- AND SHOUT OUT to SAMG for animating this one as well!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 So far they did:
510:Transmission,

- I know it's quite insane how ALYA still believes that Lila is a good person, but I feel like from her point of view I can understand why she thinks like that..., Lila is pretty good at lying and manipulating people, we honestly can't deny that..., and she also rejected the akuma at the end, you know what I mean, like Lila is intentionally giving everybody pretty good reasons for liking her even more..., so i honestly can't blame Alya..., as long as Alya still protects Marinette and stays her best friend, I don't have a problem with her thinking Lila is a good person...
- And I was wondering since season 1 at when tf are they going to talk about about the fact that Sabrina is being treated as a slave by Chloe and always does her homework..., they finally addressed it in this episode, and that was great..., but also a great opportunity for Lila to destroy Marinette and to make the allience with Chloe stronger...😬
- And the way Lila accused Marinette for appearently calling her an idiot, OMG...🤣, like how tf did she come up with that idea so quickly..., Lila is insane😂
- Seeing Adrien stand by Marinette's side was nice, but I can see why people would think that he's only doing that because Marinette is his girlfirend, you know what I mean?
- Hoaxer was really cool! Her powers reminded me a bit of Robustus tbh😅..., but the Lies / Illusions she created were quite funny..., like Marinette being Monarch?!🤣🤣🤣
- It was great to see Scarabella again...
11:25 Thats not Audrey. Thats Kagamis mom. They look identical. They all worked on solitude together revealed in sole crusher
I'm glad that Adrian has some common sense in the show. Lila is an obvious liar and nd it seems that everyone's IQ fluctuates from time to time.
2:31 I don't know exactly why but I think Kagami is very pretty in white and i like the silhouette the skirt gives
Lila is already someone who gets believed no matter how outlandish her lies are. She doesn't need to be transformed into a villain with that power.
I think lila wants power thst it like she wants to be In control
the world believing everything Lila says (not as Hoaxer just in general) is more unbelievable than the magic kwamis and evil butterflies
Just when I thought the writing was really improving (Kagami’s development has been really cool to see and Felix feels like he’s got a bit more depth to him), they make everyone really dumb to make Lila seem smart. Most of the time I can suspend my disbelief but when Alya and Nino didn’t believe ADRIEN for god’s sake 😭
I don’t think other characters need to be dumbed down to make Lila seem better, like her whole plan with Natalie is actually decent but in the classroom… yikes.
Marinette needs to shut up because that’s what leads to all of the problems. Marinette needs to pretend that she likes Lila
Lol, true. I had a short fic where in Chameleon, Mari pretends to like her while slowly making Lila exposing herself
Yeah that’s true marinette needs to shut
up it’s not even her problem
@@topgame2645 If this is supposed to be some sort of “gotcha”, I fail to see what point you’re even trying to prove here.
@@10Bendog um..🤨😐
there is not just that!marinette KEEPS talking about Chloe as being a nuisance and it's quite awkward: "she's the problem", "I'm tired of wasting my time in vain" etc! this is not a good way to present things to children, once again lacking in nuance and tact! and there are also questionable dialogues like this: "she has no difficulties, she has privileges" my brain twitched the first time I heard that then I understood where that came from was coming!
Adrien: Lila's a pathological liar.
Alya & Nino: Awe, that is so cute! Adrien agrees with everything his girlfriend says.
Well in their defense in a confused way adrien has become a simp this season
@@nonzamemange7612Still doesn't make sense regarding the fact that Lila worked for Adrien's DAD,which means spent time w each others, that also means Adrien knows her better than anybody else in the whole school, there's rlly no excuses for Alya to believe Lila over mari when she LITTERALY TOLD HER THAT SHE IS LADYBUG,N the fact that they don't believe Adrien either makes it even worse.
Okay but can we give the show some credit for including sign language?
Hawk moth: i’m giving you the power to tell crazy lies with no proof and they’ll be taking us a truth, even if they sound crazy.
Me: sooooooo nothings changed.
My favorite part is that Gabe learned not to acumatize people that hate him.
I would like Lila as a villain more, but the problem is, for her lies to work, everyone’s IQ drops to -20.
Things will be changing soon
yeah, the tally’s on the board made zero sense to me. Like Adrien, the guy who has been and will be on her side forever? and he didn’t even vote for her? weird
I think everyone forgets that Chloe can get ms bustier fired if she actually punished her
fr
They're making excuses to make the characters believe Lila everytime
