Welcome to this Neon Live In Los Angeles Guitar Tutorial by John Mayer!
It's been a long time coming and after hundreds if not thousands of requests, here it is! It's a big lesson but that's because there are so many nuances and parts of this song to explain. My main tip would be to take it slow and not set your expectations too high. This will take. along time to master. that's what i thought so too until i saw this vid and was shocked because i watched him when i was starting guitar and he got all the simplest strumming songs so it's pretty cool to know that he can play this.

Okay, the guitar playing is obviously next level and the singing is beautiful but can I just say that everything else about the video itself elevates the experience of listening to this song. I’m talking about the set, the colours, the lights, the camerawork, the blue inlays on the guitar😂 Just everything! I feel like Daniel's voice truly add depth into the song, the orginal performance more like a show off of John's guitar skill and his voice is just to fill the void. Not to disrespect John, I'm one of his biggest fan, but damn, this sure is my favorite version of this.

It's good but you need to slap more. No criticism just tips because I also learned it in 4 months. Also there are some ghost pops that you missed. I only picked up the guitar the year before last January.

And I saw Mayer play this live at a small club in Dec 2000 in Salt Lake City. Just a kid in a weird polo, blowing us all away. It takes both of these guys to do what that 19 year old kid did. Wild.
