Tomo is not only a prolific and pristine musician and instructor, but a humble and wholesome man. Passion and enjoyment of the things you do goes a long way.
Tomo is one of those RUclips guitar players that you can easily overlook simply because he is the most humble RUclips guitar player you will see. Humility and Excellence is his MO. Thanks for making this video. It was great fun watching you two interact and have some fun together. Much respect to both of you guys. This was an A++ video. 🤩
Great thing about that chord at 7:04 is that John Petrucci uses that to transition in a dream theater song, "Metropolis Part 1". He uses that chord to add feeling in other songs on later albums, but the way he uses F sharp to kind of transition into different sections is inspiring when you hear it.
Thanks, Tomo! Inspiration born of limitation. Nice! I'll remember that. That's kinda what the guitar center in Hickory NC is like most Fridays btw. You could stop by and play with Harvey!
anyone thats kind to fans and not dismissive towards them are winners in my book. Its obvious you guys know who to thank for your success. . . .most do not. Very humble
it's way cool to see you both feed off each others playing by listening to each other and sharing idea's. so inspirational, i just lost half an hour jamming on my electric, unplugged, just walking around living room. really love the funky stuff you guys started with
Tomo is a straight to the point guitar teacher just like steve stine here in youtube.. they teach you in an easiest way possible to understand things about playing guitar.. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@Matt-og5kd lmao, i love trash contrarian statements like this. Neon is widely considered an incredibly difficult song to play, even by talented guitarist. You just sound like a fucking hipster right now.
Max @ GC Boston is a legend. (The guy on the ladder) Hope you got the chance to chat with him. One of the most humble and knowledgeable shredders in the area! 🖤
Thanks Tyler for sharing. I can't believe how much this video made me smile as I watched, so glad to see you and Mr Fujita having a great day out and making music, just having good wholesome fun together. Please do more collabs like this. :)
Love Tomo and never knew you was his student that’s really awesome. Side of y’all are such a inspiration to my guitar playing, maybe even demoralizing 😂
I’ve never doubted Tomo’s musicianship if I can call it that. I know he leans a lot towards that funky style of playing, and honestly is really not my favorite. Hearing him just jam as he teaches is just a different experience. Amazing musicians both of you! As he is also playing something different! Great video brosky! Ben… cheers m8!
The talent between you two is amazing! Although I absolutely love ben coming in clutch with a little bass. I would be to intimidated to play around so much talent. 😅
Dang it! I was in Boston the first week of August, and I almost made it to the Guitar Center near Berklee, when I realized I'd forgotten my bag at Fenway Park (did the tour). I wonder, if I hadn't forgotten my bag, if I might have caught you guys there. It would've been really awesome to have eavesdropped on your lesson with Tomo. Thanks for sharing!
"Limitation is a treasure". Yep, and if you want confirmation, look at Django Reinhardt 😅. Then, were it always true, I'd be one of the richest guys in the world... So many treasures! 😉. Loved this lesson. And watching you guys playing is such a joy. 🙂 You guys should do this kind of thing, like, once in a month. There's more to learn in a video like this than in a month of regular lessons... 🙂 See you next time!
Hey Tyler! Cool video! Loved it! Thanks for great hang!
Honestly the fact the Neon was born from a failed Tomo lesson should tell every guitarist how incredible Tomo is as a teacher and musician.
Tomo is not only a prolific and pristine musician and instructor, but a humble and wholesome man. Passion and enjoyment of the things you do goes a long way.
yeh, he seems such an approachable type, probably why he's such a good teacher.
Interesting father
Wholesome. One of the most overused words of 2023.
I really like the Ben's participation in this video. He seemed enjoy it too.
Ben just chilling there was so funny to me
I wish I were Ben at this moment. Thanks guys. That was fun
what i would give to have seen these two play!
couldnt agree more, tomo is one of my biggest inspirations
I don’t suck at guitar, I just treasure my limitations.
I'm saying this from now on XD
That forces you to be more creative.
Ben looks like he’s in space. He’s probably having the best day in his life.
man smoked a little too much
Maybe just enough to lead him to just the right place at just the right time lol
Tomo is awesome. One of the most wholesome and positive personalities in the guitar community.
Huge respect to Tomo sensei! He's amazing!
This lesson is 100% WIN. I could watch you two vibin' off each others riffs for hours. Love this video.

AGREE 100%
Tomo is a MASTER. Humble and patient. Couldn't ask for more out of a guitar instructor.
Tomo was one of the very first guitarists i watched online. A true master of his craft. This collab made my day!
Tomo is so nice and kind. He often likes and replies to comments on his Instagram and leaves his own in other people's profiles.
You guys together are gold.
the vibe is awesome! Y'all jammin out, while other people are hanging out and shopping...everyone just peacefully co-existing.
"Once in a while Limitation, to me, it's like kind of a treasure"
Goodness. Protect Tomo at all costs.
I clicked so fast when I saw Tomo!! Hes one of my favorite players on RUclips.
A Master. A Sensei. A Friend. Tomo is such a great person.
watching a very advanced player still learning new things shows how versatile guitars are. very cool!

This whole interaction was so wholesome!
Tomo is an inspiration LOVE that mans playing! ❤️
Thanks, Tomo! Inspiration born of limitation. Nice! I'll remember that. That's kinda what the guitar center in Hickory NC is like most Fridays btw. You could stop by and play with Harvey!
wait tomo is in boston! thats so sick! i love when my favorite youtubers come to my area. It makes the world feel small.
Tomo! Bruh, i have no words, this guy! So easy to watch and understand learning new stuff while you having fun!
So cool to see old masters and students getting back together for an ultimate jam lesson
anyone thats kind to fans and not dismissive towards them are winners in my book. Its obvious you guys know who to thank for your success. . . .most do not. Very humble
That's really awesome that Tomo had something to do with John Mayer's arguably hardest song
it's way cool to see you both feed off each others playing by listening to each other and sharing idea's. so inspirational, i just lost half an hour jamming on my electric, unplugged, just walking around living room. really love the funky stuff you guys started with

That was the most genuinely joyous bit of guitar I have seen for a long time, thats what playing is all about.
The story of how Neon was made literally blew my mind. John couldn't do something so he made a harder version which only he can do 100% properly.
its not hard at all and he stole it from andy mckee
@@Matt-og5kdNow I must do my research.
@@Matt-og5kd lmao, i love trash contrarian statements like this. Neon is widely considered an incredibly difficult song to play, even by talented guitarist. You just sound like a fucking hipster right now.
@@Matt-og5kd”iTs noT HaRd aT aLL”, you’re so cool dude congrats
@@Matt-og5kd what the hell are you on about lmao let's see your cover then
That was truly fun to watch! Thanks, Tyler!
I would pay to see you two perform somewhere. I could listen to that for days and never be ready for it to end.
This was one of the best video you released. Those Am7 - AMaj7 licks taught me so much. Opened 10 more worlds for me to go down. Thank you Tyler!
Tomo is the Yoda of guitar. Yes... A great sensei he is!
Tomo! I just love him. His vibe, energy are just soo soothing for the soul and his ability with chords blows my mind everytime
I found Tomo bec of john mayer. Im a big fan of john mayer. Such a unique teacher. Like almost spiritual in his teachings.
this was so amazing
Luv Tomo, he has such an awesome attitude. Videos like this inspire me immensely and make me feel completely useless at the same time.
There's always absolute gold to be found where the words "Tomo" and "Lesson" are put remotely close to each-other 🔥🔥🔥
Max @ GC Boston is a legend. (The guy on the ladder) Hope you got the chance to chat with him. One of the most humble and knowledgeable shredders in the area! 🖤

One of your British fans here, Boston is my favourite city in the world and now I need to go back to jam with Boston Ben, what a guy.
Great moment. 🎉 thanks for sharing
Tomo is freaking incredible.
My two favorite guitar / music RUclipsrs 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

Know your limitations, then innovate and create based on that.
Tomo is good, Tomo is wise.
Unreal playing!! Wow 🤩

Wow Tomo is a genius, you also did great Tyler, greetings from Mexico brother!
Tomo Fujita has to be one of the most tasteful guitar players that has ever graced our planet. Just pure class.

Best guitar jam i have seen in years!!!! More of this please!!!!
Inspirational and mind blowing. New things to play with. Thanks for sharing. Ben was enjoying it too, LOL.
Hello, Ben was the luckiest guy to listen to you in live !! Great playing and beautiful music
I took a Skype lesson with Tomo a few years back. It went way over my head, but he told me to learn my triads, so I did! Guitar is more fun now :D
I’ve never doubted Tomo’s musicianship if I can call it that. I know he leans a lot towards that funky style of playing, and honestly is really not my favorite. Check out Tomo playing Little Wing live with Eric Gales, and Matt Schofield.. he's a great player.
How to not love Tomo ❤
The talent between you two is amazing! Although I absolutely love ben coming in clutch with a little bass. I would be to intimidated to play around so much talent. 😅
To be honest, Tomo is one of the best guitar teachers.
love how you were drawn to the Cory Wong guitar. One of the best live shows I've ever seen was his.
