It would have been nice if you had addressed the 25 a little more.
This was really only about the 50.

This is what I’ve been looking for I think. I general use amp with lots of tones that has seperate eq for each channel. Idk why there are so many 2 channel amps with shared eq

Title edit: Mesa Boogie Fillmore 50 Head review. You needed to play the 25 more and address the tonal differences, which are significant. I just spent time A/B-ing the 25 and 50 combos at a local shop before buying the 25. Both great amps.

Craig Tinning Well ... I got the 50 too! LOL. The main difference is the 6v6 vs 6l6 and the associated differences in transformers. The 25 is more Deluxe Reverb core and 50 more Super/Twin core tone. Both are obviously similar and while they return to the Fender roots of Boogie, they have the Boogie vibe. The 50 is a little more scooped in the mids.

the best settings on the amp are on Andy Timmon's review of this...simply the best tone you can get out of the amp!

Great demo! I'm torn between the 25 and the 50. Do either of you have a preference? If so, why?

Ed says he likes the 50 a bit better because you get more headroom with the clean channel.

I haven't been able to find a good video showing what sort of headroom you have with humbuckers before it starts to break up. This seems like a great amp for single coils but I'd like to know how far you can dial up that clean channel with humbuckers.

Bad they didn't play the 25, most people would want the 25 but they didn't even play it or test it, I wonder why

I've had a 50 combo since August, and I really love it. I used to only run through the clean channel, but have recently been using the drive channel with lower gain on one side with a boost in front for a pushed clean amp sound. Takes pedals really well in front and in the effects loop.

Brett, what is the guitar you're playing? Looks like a PRS, but I don't recognize the headstock. It's gorgeous!

Noob question, do heads ever have speakers built in? Or is that just considered a combo amp?
