Hiya bud. Just got meself an EF1000+uv. It came with a 140ltr tank, substrate, light, air pump and a gravel vacuum all for 60 quid. The filter is only 7months old too ! Bargin. This video is a god send ,thanks mate
@@TheBaldingReefer thanks bud. Yes ,your video was really informative. I've put this filter in an existing aquarium I have. How long should I leave it running along side the existing filter ? I'm planning on using the filter I already have ,on another project.
Everything was perfectly explained, including mixing types of boilologic medium for different types of bacteria. The only detail is that according to the manual, the prefilter has the tank inlet on the side and the outlet on the top, everything else is perfect.
Excellent explanation on the set up J and an upload on the cycle with test results would top this off. Thought of installing a pre-filter previously but maybe you can answer the following first... 1) would it attach to the Fluvial 07 range 2) Do they slow the overall flow rate on the main canister 3) Given the pre-filter is comparatively smaller than the main canister how long does it take before it needs cleaning. I’m sure the latter will be a future upload so I’m looking forward to this...

Hi there; I was always under the impression that anaerobic bacteria were starved of oxygen to fulfil their mission, so I'm a little confused by the fact that all the volcanic rock material in the larger vessel are in an environment where oxygen via water would surely be getting passed through the rock on its way back to the tank? I hope my question doesn't sound too dumb, I'm quite intrigued after seeing the action of things like nitrex boxes back in the day, being used to extract oxygen from nitrate in order to survive an anaerobic environment. Please put me right as I have just purchased these items on the back of your video clip. Many thanks :-)
