      All by Tiny Clown, no one is wanting AEW to fail - that's not the argument - the problem is Tony, and because this is his vanity and tax write off and it is literally a grown child playing with his real life action figures with his toy ring. That needs to change, this "shit and hate" is basically saying something is wrong and needs to change and its constructive criticism. The thing is, the marks who don't get laid are the gatekeepers and personally attack everyone - Tony included.

      And if they kept the promotion low budget, low salary and mainly did RUclips/live stream content, that thinking would be fine. But then at that point, you might as well just run Ring of Honor and sell AEW to someone who actually can do something with it. Which is what we're all hoping for at this point, but it won't happen because it's safe to say Tony values it higher than it's actually worth.

    I've watched AEW, I don't have anything against it. But I can notice the difference in production quality. That doesn't stop me from checking in on their product from time to time. But I find it lacking a bit in consistency and a lot of their matches are more spot fest than story. It's like watching a weekly PWG show. But I don't go out of my way to post about it often. This would be my first post about AEW. No hate, just a preference for WWE story telling over AEW as it is currently. That can always shift though. 3 years ago WWE tv was lacking heavily.

    • @1axe2grynd
      @1axe2grynd 15 дней назад

      like when RAW gave the fans 1 hour of commercial free wrestling....(i mean show)...there was only 7 minutes of wrestling in that first hour. As a matter of fact, the entire 3 hour program had less than one hour of wrestling.

    • @ProdigyIPC
      @ProdigyIPC 15 дней назад

      @@1axe2grynd If I want just matches and no story I can go to a local PWG, I'm not going to look for that on national TV. Flooding your show with matches and not building a story behind it will cause the show to fail. You can like it or not but that's the reality of TV. No story means no ratings. I see plenty of wrestling in WWE shows and lengthy matches on their PLEs. I don't hate AEW in fact I like a lot of the talent they have. But they don't know how to produce weekly TV very well. They book arenas they can't fill and they have too many wrestlers that get lost in the shuffle. They have work to do if they want to draw more people in.

    It would be naive to think that AEW doesn’t have their share of problems because they do. However, I think people have been so used to WWE’s bullshit, that the moment they start doing better, they’ll find any excuse they can to neglect their own problems. It’s been like this for a minute and it is unfair, but it’s what it is. I will say if people are that pressed about TK’s social media antics, then people should just mute him, block him or just get off social media. It’s really that simple. All in all, I’m just tired of the cynicism and just want all companies to do well, because when they do, everyone wins including us the fans.

      This sounds nice, but it doesn’t comport with reality. All that kumbayah let’s love and support everybody unconditionally shit is dead. It has nothing to do with being unfair, AEW just sucks. But it doesn’t have to. We can want all companies to do well, which would be great for wrestling, but in order for that to happen we have to call out the BS. And an awful lot of that BS is coming from Tony Khan and AEW. Otherwise, we’d simply be implicitly enabling his nonsensical booking and that does nothing to help the product, the wrestlers, or wrestling at all. Muting and blocking TK is like putting your fingers in your ears and yelling LA LA LA LA! It doesn’t address the problem.

I didn’t care for it, expressed why it wasn’t for me. My group of about 4 friends called me a hater and told me I was just didn’t want to like it. At no point did I ever think “I need to see what happens next.” It comes down to story and driving a narrative.

HOWEVER I gotta admit TK makes it really easy not to like him or want to watch his show if I'm being honest. His reactionary behavior on social media makes him seem really lame. i THINK it makes other people not want to watch their TV either. He's doing more damage to AEW himself than anything else. He's either shilling AEW robotically like a bot "TUNE INTO DYNAMITE WEDNESDAY" or talking crazy about WWE. He needs to get off social media or get a social media account manager. Be a personable person, talk like a normal person, talk about what makes your product good instead of talking stats and calling everything you do is great. Also spend less time on social media and write your shows better(or get a team to help write the stories).

    I've always been a WWE guy and I always will be. I don't want to be negative towards AEW just because it's not for me but one observation that I have made across social media is that I'll comment on a WWE post and I'll get some random AEW fan ripping into me just because I like what I watch and that starts the "tribal" war and before you know it, everyone is taking shots at each other. I see the same thing when there's an AEW post and shot get fired from WWE fans.
    The thing that I notice from many wrestling groups is when they post something on AEW, the come out firing in defence of it which only attracts the negative comments and it feels like they're calling for it. Maybe they are because it creates a buzz but it also does nothing to promote AEW in a positive way.
    Sure, AEW could be doing a lot of things better but they have great talent and they work hard to put on a good show. Wishing for them to fall is only going to hurt the industry but how do you stop the negativity when TK tweets about WWE or Triple H takes a shot at AEW in an interview. Here's the real issue that switched. A couple years ago, AEW even when they did something bad, generally didn't insult your intelligence as a wrestling fan. When you see something like the Undisputed Kingdom trying to recruit Kyle O'Reily, turning on him, having a PPV match, and then A MONTH LATER acting as if it never happened, you're now insulting my intelligence. That's why we're now shitting on things

    I have been very sad by the negativity that surrounds aew this company, which kept me invested in pro wrestling. I don't know if WWE is in the honeymoon period like aew was for the first few years but I do not see them get a lot of passes for the stuff that happens creatively like Dave Tommy said there would be doom and gloom posts on the entire company. I'm happy that WWE has gotten better and I think we are at the point of trying to figure out how to make aew better in certain aspects. Why can't they both win and have things to work on? No wrestling company is perfect, and I am happy there is more to talk about and options for where wrestlers can work. Thanks for reading, and thanks, Dave and Tommy, for the video. Have a good weekend!

    I'm glad some people watch both WWE and AEW, respectively. It's great that a section of fandom supports both sides. With that said, isn't it possible that this kind of wrestling tribalism started with the attitude era, where fans had to choose between Nitro and Raw? In the end, one side won (and continues to win), and the other side spends the next 25 years explaining what led to their downfall? Wrestling fans are very loyal, and I think they voice their preference very loudly to show what the "true" wrestling fans watch.

    Honestly there are a lot of reasons that people are complaining now instead of before and it is not just the cool thing to hate on AEW, that is just marks trying to say AEW sucks for not being WWE or something.
    True wrestling fans looking in can see. First when they started we all gave a learning curve to let them get set up and start to improve.
    Now the issue is this is a TV wrestling promotion that doesn't spend much time on character growth and development, as well as building lasting storyline. Yes they have some and they work on some people but a lot of people in the promotion you just don't care about. You have to make people care for or hate the characters to keep coming back to watch.
    Chris Jericho said it at a podcast or show that AEW doesn't have writers and they just hit points, that is great for Jericho and other past WWE wrestlers as they have some knowledge and teaching on his to sell and develop themselves and talk on the mic, you have so much talent that comes from working in Japan or Mexico or other Indy places around the world where most of the focus for them is just on the wrestling and not the character development or microphone skills.
    You have people that only say curse words and catchphrases . They don't know how to get better and some have attitudes that they don't need it. They need more people to come in and guide them instead of just letting them do. They have fantastic wrestling talent for the in ring work but if they don't build you up to care they just guys that show and do cool things and that's it.
    Tony Khan also takes offense to everything that is said about him and AEW. People can say horrible things but you have to be able to ignore and pick out the things that are good to hear and not focus on the negative, he is like Ronda Rousey, if you don't just praise and worship everything that they do then they are angry and hate you for not just loving them because they exist.
    There is a lot of great in AEW and we want it to succeed and grow , however wrestling is not just about the moves in the ring it is about overall entertainment, as much as people hate WWE they try to entertain and not just focus on the cool moves on the ring. AEW needs to have more entertainment. That comes from stories and character development and not letting the hate drive you crazy. They need to help the talent learn to cut promos better and sell in the ring better because a spotfest which moves don't seem to hurt people when it is supposed to take so much away from that story aspect.
    We want AEW to be the best it can but just like anything we spend time and money on if it is not entertaining or good we will say it. No hate to AEW.

    I don't watch AEW or WWE live because they are very late for me, but I see clips of every show on RUclips the day after and when WWE uploads the full show to the Network I watch the whole thing. There's some stuff in WWE that I don't enjoy so much but I don't hate and the same goes for AEW. I like the booking of Toni Storm and her story with Mariah May. I enjoy everything MJF does, I like Christian Cage, Guys like Samoa Joe, Danielson, Castagnolu, Takeshita, Swerve and Ospreay have incredible matches. I wish they were more storytelling driven but the athletic performances are amazing. I also watdh the TNA highlights and I tend to enjoy them. Between those 3 we have 14 hours of TV, maybe about 11 without commercials. Half of that is really good, a lot of it pretty decent too and only avfew thints here and there are actually bad. People are way too negative and way too picky .

    I respectfully disagree with you Dave, the fundamental of competition is comparison. As long as AEW want to be the top wrestling promotion in the world, they will never not be compared to WWE. Yes they're a very young company, but their boss is a delusional mark who keeps hating on WWE, lashing out on their fans and pretending that AEW is doing better when numbers prove otherwise, so there will obviously be a backlash, not to mention them always talking about WWE openly on TV just to get a cheap pop. They bring this on themselves. You want the bull, you get the horns or sth like that.

    Wrestling fandom is like high school. Literally. On multiple levels.
    First off, it’s full of people who socially would not be considered cool or part of the “in crowd” of society.
    Wrestling fans tend to be part of the lower economic level. They also have never been the most sophisticated or high level IQ.
    That said, most of these fans will go whichever way the wind blows on social media or on RUclipsr podcasts.
    They literally just want to be with or align with whatever side or take they perceive to be the popular,trendy or “cool” take.
    They are just followers trying to be a part of the popular crowd.
    They desperately just want to figuratively sit at the cool kids lunch table. They are afraid to like something that might get them ridiculed or made fun of.

  • @Drew81198
    @Drew81198 18 дней назад

    (Sorry for the rant in advance lol) I agree with what they say 100%. Neither company is above criticism and AEW is not perfect and I say that as someone who is a fan of AEW and watches every show every week (sometimes I miss Rampage). WWE’s style is not my preferred taste but I still keep track of whats happening and support it. But I’ve noticed for a while when someone posts something positive or negative about AEW, at least one or two of the top 10 comments on the post are just straight up hating like “who cares no one watches it” or they’ll take the tiniest detail and use that for the reason why the whole thing is shitty. AEW is better than it was 6 months ago but it still has a lot to improve in order for ratings and attendance to go up again but that won’t happen if we continue to hate and that drives away casual fans who assume it’s shit because lots of people jump on the hate train for the sake of hating. I hope both companies thrive as well as every other wrestling company

    • @Drew81198
      @Drew81198 18 дней назад

      Two reasons I think why AEW has been losing support. First, Tony Khan is becoming really annoying and dumb with his comments. If he made his Harvey Weistein comment 10 years ago when Vince was in charge, I probably would’ve agreed with it but it felt so out of date when he said it and he needs to just stop running his mouth so much and focus on his product. Second, there are some good things on AEW right now like Swerve as champ, the Elite faction and Will Ospreay in general. It’s not the most mind blowing stuff but it’s still pretty good. But there’s also some things that are either just ok or feel really over exposed (The Acclaimed feels like itself starting to become a but stale and Chris Jericho’s storylines just haven’t been working for at least 6 months at the minimum) and when there’s a lot of stuff that people really don’t like, it can bring the quality of everything else down with it. So Tony really needs to be the boss and cut whats not working and focus on the positive things more.

    I understand the criticism AEW gets, BUT the problem is when people criticize them about things that other companies don’t receive when they do the same things. It’s the double standards that AEW get versus other companies, and it’s true it’s people that don’t even watch and just say it’s bad and repeat the same reused false information.
