That recruiter was crazy! I am loving the product talk recently - I feel it is really important for a hobbyist like me who is still a relative newbie to the game. It made me think about things like not to trust a company reputation or brand - for example, just because a certain brand's filter is good doesn't mean the other products are good, too. Yup, count me in the "Mom made me put the fish in a bucket and scrub the tank and gravel" crew. She meant well but it turned me off fish keeping for many years because it was no fun and the fish would die. Dustin of Dustin's fish tanks told a similar story about his Dad. My Mom still groans if I mention my fish tanks, "So much work" she says. I explain it's not so bad and that there are good bacteria that need to stay in the tank. We got her a canary for a pet when my Dad passed. She loves the little thing. 😊
I met someone a fe months ago that was removing the fish to thoroughly scrub the tank as you described. I gifted him a few bags of stem plant trimmings with the instructions that the plants would need him to stop it. He is so much happier with his tank now 😁
Could you do a video on floating plants and nitrates? My nitrates have always been high, and I just now realized that floating plants suck those bad boys up!!! I had no idea

With all the problems with the COOP pump heads they have to be well over a 5% failure rate. Why aren't they being replaced. I've encountered this problem as well as have many others ????

Its derived from ammonium sulfate. Risky.
you can make your own water soluble ferts from store bought chemicals, but tbh its not worth it if you just have 1 or 2 nano tanks.

14:42 part of the problem is fish people are largely ignorant on everything else. Largely ignorant lol. I am no exception, I have just come to this bc of the 'advancements' weve made over the years especially with plants. Just learning basics on soil and terrestrial plants showed me that our hobby has absolutely no understanding of these things when setting up our systems.
I have reset how I go about setting up tanks so much already and I still feel like I have only begun to learn about 40% of it lol. I still have no idea about a lot of areas which is why I think it'd be cool for some to focus on those areas so I can kearn more faster haha.

Probably because it’s just rebranded Amazon items.
What I want is for each person to decide themselves where the good and bad are. Example: when I discussed sponge filter costs I said multiple times "not this filter, but one of similar size" it was just the one I had in hand as a prop. I think it's important that hobbyists are informed and they make decisions with as much information as possible. No company is owed blind loyalty. It must be continually earned. Co-Op has a level of transparency that is very note worthy and I think that earns customer loyalty.
