    Something to add that I sort of forgot. I have a lot of gh in my water if I didn't I would add some. This video isn't an end all be all it is just how I currently do it in my current water. If I moved somewhere with different water I would change the recipe, or if I was doing a tank with a bunch of plants that favored a certain nutrient I would add more of that nutrient. Really you just want to put enough stuff in it that it doesn't strip everything out of your aquarium water. For anyone curious my nutrient ratio is ~7-1-8 because someone said Tom Barr said it was a good ratio for aquatic plants once. Seemed like as good a place as any to start and it worked for me so I haven't bothered messing with it.

    Does it melt over time i want to run an undergravel filter with it i hope it stays in pebbles

      @pingary7502 to compacts too much to be a good option for an undergravel filter. Also it is a clay so if you have water constantly moving through it, it will likely sluff off pieces till it is a fine powder. Also it has some sand mixed in which would fall through the filter plate.
