I hope you find a rink! Took my husband and daughter (her 1st time on skates) last weekend. It was the 1st time in 22 years for me! It was awesome! We're going again this weekend!
We started skating when the skates were 25 cents to rent and you paid 50. Cents to get in the door, we went every Mon. Wed. AND Friday because it was ladies night for 25 cents and 10 cent skate rental. I'm now 79 and I still love it and go as much as time will allow. The only way I'll give up skating is when I can no longer walk!
Started skating in the 70's as a kid thru the 80's, 90's and into the 2000! Age and the pandemic abruptly stopped the fun but I'm not totally giving up! I'll show up with big neon pompoms! I never had any and my dream will come e true!😊

I was a dedicated pre-teen rink rat here in the '90s, when it was Starlight. Glad to see that it's still around and essentially unchanged. Funny, I remember them playing this song (and other Miami freestyle) all the time.

This brings back so many memories from 90-99 I'm 42 years old and use to go to skateland northpoint in maryland every Friday and Saturday night. Met tons of friends wish it was still those days. This was the best music to skate too. I take my kids once in a while but wish I still had my riedell 395 with proline plates and wicked lip wheels

I really miss skating. My husband was an excellent skater. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do some of the above skate with their wheels completely loose like Duane and he didn’t lace dlayes ! we quit scamming in our 50s after our grandkids got to be teenagers. They didn’t want to go anymore. I wish we had continued, but my husband didn’t want to go anymore anyway I watch skating on my iPhone. I love the shuffle and the type of skating we did and adding in waltz ..😊
I live in Alabama right now in Dothan, there’s not that many skating rings around here just one it’s OK but not great, I’m moving to Houston Texas because I hear they don’t play around when it comes to scan and I can’t wait to see
this is so very awesome. When I was still living back in Boston in southie I use to rollerblade everywhere. Back in the 90's. I been seeing on instragram and here the skating videos. Makes me really want to get back in there somewhere and do what you all are doing and film people. This is what we need more in the world

You should all do it...Im 55 and just started back on quads a month ago inspired but the rising trend here. At my age there is no muscle memory but it comes back w/ practice. I live in SoCal so skating at the beach is epic. I plan to join a beach rollout next month. I also have two rinks near me. An indoor rink for "coffee" skate or nights for jams. There is a wonderful, unknown outdoor rink great for me to practice moves. I'm so happy I got back into it and brought others along w/me😀
I grew up at the roller rink. Every Friday and Saturday night mom would take us and we'd meet up with our cousins and friends. I met some nice chicks too 😅. Good Ole days.

I started skating at 2. My much older brother had to take me if he wanted to go on a date with wife to be. By the end of the night I was keeping up with everyone. I just mimicked what everyone was doing. Including skating backwards. I was hooked. The owner of the rink gave me figure roller skating lessons for free. All my parents had to do was buy the skates. I already could ice skate but I didn't n don't like being cold. I am 57 and skated for 30yrs 4 to 6 times a week. I was in a terrible car accident a 16 yr old kid high and drunk put me in a wheelchair for 2yrs. Since then rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, type 2 insulin dependent diabetes. A heart attack, a small stroke. 7yrs ago my great nephew had his BIRTHDAY party at the rink. He dared me to put skates on, my niece still has the last pair of very expensive awesome skates I bought. I went around the rink with my rolator Walker with a seat 10xs. It was so fun.I even skated backwards. Everyone thought I was crazy. But I got to choose when the last time I got to do something I loved doing so very much, not the 16yr old who almost ended me. The next next 2 days I pretty much had to stay in bed. But the pain was worth it. I always loved the feeling of moving fast so effortlessly.
