I saw this yesterday and I though that the narrator was supposed to be the characters conscience as he is always appearing when the characters are about to do something or thinking something 🤔
+NxThexApple x I think the narrator is just a mysterious character.. kinda like how in pulp fiction the director left the suitcase a mystery for the viewer to guess what is in it.. use there imagination. .. I hope I'm making sense.. I know that when he first created the story the narrator was.. well just the narrator.. but after so many actors taking on the part. they are after developing the narrator a bit more. :3
We are doing this in school at the moment ,and when Eddie is a kid (in the hand-me-down clothes ) his voice is high pitched and then he started singing and everyone was like woah And everyone died when Eddie Is telling mickey how to talk to Linda 😂 And our English teacher had to tell everyone what the movies where about .I guessed what they where about
High on the hill The mad woman lives Never ever eat the sweets she gives Just throw them away And tell ye dad High on the hill there’s a woman gone mad Mad woman, mad woman Living on the hill As she catches your eye Then you never will Go any further your cheek will go bad High on the hill there’s a woman gone mad 11:05 Great Song 👍
No, It's Linda! In some of early productions the character went by the name Brenda, but here and in most versions the name is Linda, it even on Wikipedia.
We performed this at my school 5 years ago. I played the flute in the orchestra, but I knew all the lines by heart from watching it over and over 😆 Got a bit sick of it towards the end, but now I’d do anything to see that performance again 😢
Wow I missed the part were that was a seen observation. Can you point it out to me because after watching this I still can't see where you've obtained your elaborate and complex point from? Additionally, strong use of the word "like"
I recently went to watch this live and they changed all the actors but at the very end and during the last song of the play, the original Mickey is on stage
I saw it was some kind of brain illness (damage) :( and he was performing this show a few years down the line in 1992 and became to Ill to carry on and died in hospital surrounded by friends and family. Been trying to find other shows he’s in but can’t find videos of any on here. Great actor
He was angry at Linda for hitting on Eddie so he took it out on Eddie for having everything and being successful, but he didn’t mean to shoot Eddie because if you look in the script it mentions how he indicates towards Eddie with the gun in his hand and accidentally pulls the trigger because afterwards he shouts ‘NO!’ So it shows it’s an accident. Him shooting Eddie was nothing to do with knowing they were twins, although it did aggravate him further
Anyone else think that Mickey trying to ask Linda out is absolutely adorable
Words do not describe how much I love this musical
laurie mcainsh same here
laurie mcainsh same I love this musical way to much
Robert Locke plays Eddie in this version
I would of enjoyed it a lot more if I didn't have to study the heck out of it for English
Mickey's voice is fantastic
He's played here by Con O 'Neill
i swear eddie was reading a paragraph from 50 shades of grey XD
"she's a f**kin headcase" makes me laugh every time
I had the absolute PRIVILEGE of seeing this cast in January of 1993 in London. Best show I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot.
would not have seen this cast. Con left in 1990 and Dear Robert died in 1992. but im sure the cast you saw were amazing,
@@misssparkles7520 Ahhh, right, thanks. It was Kiki Dee and the narrator, though.
Oh wow, that hair flick is priceless. I do love the humor in this film. A great chuckle.

Joe Burns For Me, Its English And Drama xD Must Say, Drama Is A Lot More Fun :D
I would literally kill to study this in English... it beat Shakespeare any day

I like how Mickey fixes the fence that Linda accidently moved in the scene before! haha :) Love this musical!
The Narrator is the conscience of the two mothers, not the Devil
Con’s voice is absolutely unique and funny, especially in Telstar

Am I the only who thinks the Narrator actually is supposed to represent the devil himself?

+Charmz yah that's actually really interesting 😂🙌🏻
+RickyG no... no you are not
RickyG I saw him as representing inner demons more, like people's darkest fear.
*looks at fence
SHIT
* I die on the floor laughing
I saw this in London in 1992, and after that line it took a full minute and a half for the audience to get control enough from them to continue.
It's by far my favourite line! I'm dying of laughter over hereXD
wait i didn’t get that bit ???
@@poppybuckland6041 in part 6, Linda asks Mickey to help her over the fence and she says "please be gentle with me mickey"

RIP Dear Robert Locke (eddie) passed away 1993 aged 35....:(
I heard about this... its sad. how did his pass?
Robert was a dear friend from home in Derbyshire and is still greatly missed , my mother got him very drunk one Christmas it was so funny.
Doing this in school i love it 😊
Robbie Elliott (
Such a good memory for me. Saw this 5 times at Northampton rep in 1980's. Also at Warwick with Kiki Dee . Makes me tearful
I wasn’t born when this came out but i did it in school and i love it
'Wish that i could score a hit like..' .. I bet after this performane he got all the 'hits' he could ever possibly want ;)
I know it's not a film, but since the way it was uploaded, and it was used in the production, it made more sense to call it a film.

Mrs Lyons: **Giving her speech**
Meanwhile the narrator: 👁👄👁
7:40

yo the narrator is just standing there and waiting for mickey and eddie to go to start singing xD
I love love love this musical. Xxx
"i can't tell ya coz i've got pimples" xD
The devil represents mrs Lyons guilty conscience
I recently went to watch this live and they changed all the actors but at the very end and during the last song of the play, the original Mickey is on stage
I feel like the Narrator is just the image that comes us when you search up "What is a stalker?"
im doing this at school atm and im kinda obsessed...
Very different show to what became ..but a masterclass by Con
This musical made me laugh and cry . Mickys voice is amazing . The best lines has to be "shag the vicar " and ' shes a fucking headcase " xx
I posted this 2 years ago, It was a simple typo, I do know that it's a musical. :)
It’s actually a musical, romantic, drama, tragedy, political and comedic play as I do it in English and drama for my GCSE’s in England
I have to that same paragraph for my Drama class 0.0, I'm going to burst out laughing xD
i love this so much its so funny and its sad at the end but my favorite part is when micky askes the girl out, I just forgot her name XD
Joe Cox Linda
I think it is Linda!
Bloody brilliant
BRENDA!
What?
Does anyone know the actor who plays Eddie??
+Megan _x The late, great Robert Locke
Robyn Painter wait how did he die
Robert Locke. He died very young and there is nothing on Wiki to explain how he died. Very sad that he passed away, of course. He was a great Eddie.
Jay MacB it doesn't explain anything that happened to the actors in this play
I saw it was some kind of brain illness (damage) :( and he was performing this show a few years down the line in 1992 and became to Ill to carry on and died in hospital surrounded by friends and family. Been trying to find other shows he’s in but can’t find videos of any on here. Great actor

mickey reminds me of the scouse comedian john bishop :P
That quality thou
you're a legend!! love this production!!
I am having this in homework
Is it just me, or does Eddie sound like Oliver twist
Why does Mickey remind me of a young Christian Bale?
High on the hill a mad woman lives
My reaction; WTF
Me thinking it's Mrs. Lyons screaming and then realise nah, nah that's someone else-
OMG I’m Mrs johnestone in drama and I have to get the accent too
Hahaha she walked right in to the narrator hahahhaha
@cutieloulou1 this is the stage version? It's just been uploaded to youtube.... it is amazing though...

Becca Louise ....rewatch the whole thing and actually pay attention
