'YOUR A F- OFF!' At my school, if someone shouts that, the entire crowd dies laughing. Also that is the best Mickey ever, haven't you noticed that he can't hold in the laughter of his own actions? Hahahahaha!
I like how Con O’Neil (Mickey) can play all the different ages perfectly like how at the age of 7 when Eddie and Mickey meet he is a childish little kid and then when he is a depressed adult. He is the best actor that I know c
Robert O'Niell (Or Con O'Niell, his stage name) is hands down the best Mickey Blood Brothers has ever had. He won an Olivier award for it and was truly deserving- he was born to play Mickey Johnstone!! I've never seen any other actor (including Sean Jones who everyone raves about) perform the 'I wish I was our Sammy' monologue anywhere near as good, and can pull of the hormonal teenager and depressed adult Mickey just as amazingly!!
Holly Newton Couldn't agree more. I've been doing this play in Drama and everytime I get the part as Mickey I always try to play it like Con O Neil does.
James Dawson I'm afraid not. Too early I think, though it's possible to pick up the soundtrack, if you're lucky. All I can find is a clip of Barbara Dickson (the original Mrs Johnstone) singing Easy Terms onstage. There are several clips of this, mostly from TV shows, but the one with her in a brown overcoat and pram is actually from the show. I worked front-of-house in the Lyric Theatre with this show and recognise the stage set. It had transferred from Liverpool with a mostly unknown cast and, even in the first couple of months, became a surprisingly successful hit. Bear in mind that this was Lloyd Webber's heyday and he had several shows on the West End at that time. It was an amazing time to be working in the West End. :)
There is no better cast I've seen for this play. I adore this play, it renders emotions like nothing I've ever seen. The contrast made by the quick switches between comedy and tension and suspense. Beautiful.
Best blood brothers cast -- Sean Jones (Met him) -- Mickey Mark Hutchingson -- Eddie Kristofer Harding -- Narrator Maureen Nolan -- Mrs Jonhstone Tracey Spencer -- Mrs Lyons Danielle Corlass -- Linda Daniel Taylor -- Sammy Tim Churchill -- Mr Lyons
I had to go see this for GCSE drama, back in 2000 when it was on at the Phoenix in London. My mum and I both loved it so much we kept going back again and again. I was really bummed when I found out it had ended without me hearing about it. If I could have I would have gone one last time. Unfortunately the stage tour is nowhere near me this year.
haven't done for English but i am studying for drama, i went to the blood brothers musical in guild hall. It was truly outstanding, for sure one of my top best productions ever.
If you like the actor Con you should watch him in Dancin thru the dark......it's an adaptation of the stage play stags and hens.....very versatile actor
Amelia Jay that's not Craig in this version. He did it in Liverpool back in 2008 and this performance is 1998 and a London production. Also Craig played Eddie Lyons x
the thing is he is scouse mickey is and im scouse but i live in Telford so it is easy for me to do the accent the thing is about this act its really interesting.
doing the mickey linda bit's for gcse drama. when your teacher says it's a bit lovy dovy and your crush says, 'do you wanna go with me?' too good to be true.
They are so good, half way through I forgot they were Adults! the way the actors are staged tio have the kids normaly on the floor or lower when adults are around is very well done, and the actors captured the perfect vision of a child in that era! BRAVO!
I have to do this for a drama GCSE as well. I've just started learning about it. And I'm not sure which part I get. It's just going to be fun, because I get a chance to see this with my class
I think everyone who does GCSE drama does this phenomenal play!
And GCSE eng,ish

i agree!
We were reading the play in class, and some kid got permission to say that. He took the opportunity to scream it at the top of his lungs. Good times.
When some kid swears: BRUH
Shush

No, it's definitely Con O'Niell
Holly Newton No, it's me!!!!
Holly Newton Couldn't agree more. I've been doing this play in Drama and everytime I get the part as Mickey I always try to play it like Con O Neil does.
I disagree. Sean Jones does it for me
I'd have to say Sean Jones is probably about joined first with con O'Neil
My drama teacher made us watch this as homework.
bruh i have to do a gcse question with it, not even gonna do drama gcse
Ayame Tsukika easy homework
Same here
My drama teacher made us watch it in our drama lesson
Same, I’m watching it now for work
This is the best version of this I have ever seen. I have no words the actors are just amazing and the voices and accents just outstanding
+Jodie Giffen They're not too bad but I still prefer the original 1983 West End cast.
+Kerensa Birch is it on RUclips
James Dawson

+Kerensa Birch I've never saw it before so I wouldn't be able to compare them:)
Jodie Giffen
It's such a great show, it doesn't really matter.
There is no better cast I've seen for this play. I adore this play, it renders emotions like nothing I've ever seen. The contrast made by the quick switches between comedy and tension and suspense. Beautiful.
I've somehow arrived here from our flag means death and HOLY MOLY Con is such a talented actor, he can play such wildly different characters
This was the original and the best version of Blood Brothers. What a shame it wasn't filmed and made available as a dvd.
"I will always defend my brotheeeeeeeeeeer" 😂😂
I would have LOVED to have done this for English. Be grateful y'all have an interesting script; An Inspector Calls is dire.
inspector calls was great:) it hasn't going any humour in it though- bit bleak.
Izzy It's easy to write about and has a solid political message but as an actual piece it inspires absolutely no interest in me
Neru Akita I think that was the same for most people :) don't worry.
Izzy haha i'm not but thank you :)
Inspector calls is sooooo boring.
11:43 is the best thing ever
+pcybacon omg how the hell did i find another army on this video comment section..

+태태김 HOW DID U CAME HERE THO LMAO

Watched this with drama class in school and watched twice as an adult. A masterpiece
My son and his best friend have just performed this bit for their drama exam, it was fantastic
i love how they completely throw themselves across the stage! Escpecially Mickey (:
I'm doing this for my GCSE drama at the moment! Love the play so far! 😂😄
I move all the time so I have to learn this every time I go to a different school and I swear it gets better every time I watch it
if i got a penny for every time i had to watch a 480p video with canned laughter from 2011, i would be trillionaire
I'm watching this thinking why did we change from this amazing piece of funny theatre into the dullness of An Inspector Calls.
The stunt by 3:08 is that hard to make, or can you still make, it look wild without hurting yourself?
It’s probably a fake knife
LoL
u alive ?
They would’ve practiced it enough times so that it probs doesn’t hurt that much
I've just auditioned as Mickley today for the school show and we had to watch it and no one could stop laughing
7:30 Ohhh shhhhiiiiit here comes slender!
This video is older than me but here I am, watching it so I can answer questions for homework 😢
I love this play! I went to york to see it and i thought it was the best play i have ever seen!

Mickey and Eddie are fantastic!!!!
Love this scene! I'm playing Linda soon, and kids game is going to be amazing fun :)

I LOVE THIS!!!
I played Mrs Lyons for my GCSE Drama exam. Love this musical.
just finished watching the whole show con is so incredible as mickey ive come back to see him being hillarious after how it ends
Remember seeing this play as a kid in 2011 :) great- and it's a coincidence...but I have a twin called Eddie too.
I have watched many different versions of this play and the actor who plays Mickey in this production is the best Mickey I’ve seen out of all of them
Con O Neill!! He’s a great actor, I’m only watching this for him knowing who he is now. I didn’t know years ago in class though 😅
Who plays Mickey in this.I need to find out, he's amazing!
+Megan Green Con O'Neill - he won a Laurence Olivier award in 1988 for "Best Actor in a Musical", and he was nominated for a Tony award as well.
ScottieGirl20 oh okay, that's great thanks!
If you like the actor Con you should watch him in Dancin thru the dark......it's an adaptation of the stage play stags and hens.....very versatile actor
Megan Green he's called Craig whitely, he's my drama teacher
Amelia Jay that's not Craig in this version. He did it in Liverpool back in 2008 and this performance is 1998 and a London production. Also Craig played Eddie Lyons x
I looked this up due to MatPat's old videos and I have to admit I have no regrets :D

Watching this again for a Drama assessment, i have to play Mikey its so hard to do the accent
the thing is he is scouse mickey is and im scouse but i live in Telford so it is easy for me to do the accent the thing is about this act its really interesting.
You’re not the only one!
Mycroft Holmes you lose marks for not attempting a scouse accent, but it you don't get it right you get more marks then if you don't try at all.
Sameeee
i play eddie
Its 15 minutes long and I'm dying. It's a good play, but I'm dying. I have to watch this for homeworkkkkkkk wish me luck.
Key quotation from this scene: "YOUR A FUCKOFF!"
Just brilliant 👏👏👏👏👏
love the guy playing Eddie.

Holly-May Harvey Same Im mickey
Watched this in English, teacher made us analyse the whole thing, absolute torture, but it’s a great performance.
Doing workshop with two people who played mickey and eddie together on the west end :3 SUPER HAPPY! They preformed this scene to us...it was awesome!
