    I've had the head and matching 2X12 for about two months now. I am quite happy with it, even on high its not ear shattering in a home. Its a balanced amp that you could do small gigs with for sure. I found the clean headroom lacking if you have a drummer, but dirty it keeps up just fine. I am not sure why this amps got no love for awhile. Its the perfect affordable vintage Marshall sound, and less than half the price of the new Studio 20. Great demo as always guys!

      Thanks Chris...yeah it got a fair bit of hate when it first came out...I'm the same...I think its a really great vintage style Marshall amp at a pretty good price...its made in Vietnam but I don't think that really makes a difference!

    The clean sound on this one has it a bit of an edge over other Marshals. You get the sound that's really low gain growl like a Plexi when you drive the power tubes but the clean sound goes on for days. I can't believe the price for those who can't afford $2500 for a Plexi. Great amp for the average Marshal lover. I hope they stay in this price range until I can save to get one.

    Just bought one of these from guitar guitar UK for £249 new. Stoked! I watched Segeborns video of these through pulsonic cabs and actually preferred the 20 dimed to the 50. Solid state fixed vs cathode bias. 20 is a lot more saggy IMHO.

    Does anyone know how to turn the Marshall Origin on and off correctly? I ask because it does not have a Stand By button or knob but it is still a valve device and the user manual does not say anything about it. How do you use it to protect the valves? Thanks, I'm new to this amp.

    • @TSFAHTPS
      @TSFAHTPS  3 месяца назад +2

      Just flick the switch ON or OFF…I don’t think you can do much more than that when there is no Standby switch! Just give the amp a minute to warm up when you turn it on and give it a minute to cool down before you move it…that’s all I do

      @@TSFAHTPS hello, great videos and great tone !! I bought an ORI20H now and next week it should be coming. I'll use it in a 1x12 gab with V30 celestion. do you think this amp has enough clean volume for small gigs? I'll use it most of the time with an overdrive / distortion on the front.

      Cristiano Varella kinda late, but I have a 50 watt and I practice with a loud drummer weekly and I usually run it at halfway power. But if I want a really clean tone, I’ll run it on full power and it’s definitely enough to get over a drummer in my opinion. And I run it thru a 2x12

    My experience with the guitar pedals/amps is that the more simple. the better. I was about to buy DSL but since I own other amplifiers I figured out that I prefer to have several "one trick ponnies" which do their thing exceptionally well and switch between them with my ... really cheap amp switch saving some money on "do-it all- amps" :-)

  • @guitagious9464
    @guitagious9464 3 года назад +1

    How do you guys tolerate the Master and Gain controls being up above noon position with toggle switch in the High-power section?? When I do this, it's WAY too loud for normal practicing!!! (But, yeah, it DOES sound good this way! Lol!)

    • @TSFAHTPS

      Hey! I live in an apartment and I'm looking to get one of these, I was hoping the power scaling feature would solve any possible noise complaints haha will it do the job? I want this amp so badly but I'm scared of it being too loud...

    • @79Pedrosanchez
      @79Pedrosanchez 2 года назад

      @@blasphemer1992 I would get a passive volume control (40$) in the FX loop or a passive attenuator (80-90$) between the amp and the speaker (16ohm, 50-65W). Otherwise, a bit loud even at 0.3W. But, you should get it it is awesome. I have the DSL20 also and couldn't resist getting the Origin 20 watt head. I plug it on my DSL (seventy-80 speaker) and use the DSL combo as a cabinet. It sounds so good with the seventy-80s. Better than v-type or vintage 30.

  • @blasphemer1992

    I'm really digging this amp, even added it to my shopping chart. I get my distorsion mainly from pedals, would it be okay for me then? I live in an apartment and had to let go of my orange micro terror bc it was too loud. I was hoping the power scaling feature would solve that problem, as well as providing a great platform for pedals and the fx loop I was missing with the orange.... so...should I go for it?

    • @TSFAHTPS
      @TSFAHTPS  3 года назад +1

      I think its a really good pedal platform...and with the power-scaling function it should be no problem in an apartment. The FX loop is footswitchable too - and the footswitch comes with the amp...which makes things easlier

      @@blasphemer1992 hey dude, how is the amp at lower volumes, I might get one but I'd be using it mostly at bedroom levels and wondered how it sounds at those volumes on the low power mode? And can you still crank it on the low mode without getting too loud?

  • @TheBluesine
    @TheBluesine 4 года назад +1

    Hi. Im trying too decide if the 20H is enough for a small 4 piece pub band, small venues only.... Or should I go for the 50H since its not much more money? Would I need too crank up the 50H to get a good sound - then maybe its too loud? Cheers

    • @johnboyc5
      @johnboyc5 4 года назад +2

      Definitely get the 50 to be safe. I usually run mine on half power when I practice with a drummer. And I usually run it slightly crunchy and throw some gain pedals in front and it sounds amazing and if I really want to get clean, I’ll throw it on full power and back down the gain a little bit. And I always have the master volume all the way up and just adjust the gain
