This is the funniest take to me, because it literally has major and obscure references going back to Origins, 2 and obviously Inquisition. Also the way bosses, and side quests are designed actually feels much closer to Origins than anything since, we have quest threads that legitimately last the duration of the main story and they’re missable if you’re not looking for them, hidden and engaging side bosses galore. The most Dragon Age game it could have ever been. 🤝
I agree they are all mostly standalone experiences jsut set in the same world. Yes a lot Carries over but this is not a tight knit trilogy like mass effect at all.
I lost a lot of respect for certain creators who deliberately focused on specific characterizations in dialog to make their bones against the game for easy views. It was such a chickenshit move, and it soured me on their content, going forward.
I love this game so much (already spent 150+ hours in Veilguard), especially for all the lore content within companion and crossroad quests. There are so many hidden gems in this game, except they are not hidden if you play the game and take it for what it is. The only thing Inquisition continues to stand out for me is the soundtrack. Veilguard's soundtrack is wonderful, whereas Inquisition managed something spectacular in this regard.
Right now most of the content makers on Dragon Age The Veilguard are concentrating on all the flaws and ramping those flaws to a 10 so any small cringy interactions is now being made as the main narrative however if you play Veilguard you will see many of the narratives of the previous versions of the DA are being discussed here in this game. It's sad many content creators are justmilking the negative publicity that the game is getting for views when in fact the true narrative and story of the game is never discussed most of them are jsut concentrate don Taash and her non binary conversations.
Hardings quest line has some of the most emotional and best music of the whole game. I liked the blight tracks as well cause it’s literally the one from origins and the ending where you convince solas to just be cool man and you get a mix of veilguard with inquisitions phenomenal soundtrack. I think on my second playthrough I’ll go with a different inquisitor than the one I played soley because I wanna see how it plays out with an inquisitor who has romanced solas. The hook of that narrative is so intriguing and heartbreaking so I wanna see how the hood solas ending and the interactions about solas with the inquisitor differ when it’s a romanced solas.
...and that whole time, Taash was thinking, "Dude. Can I move yet? My thighs are KILLING me!" Seriously though, I loved this part of the story. The dwarf/elf lore was amazing, and the story overall was great and very connected to what came before.
when more titan lore dropped through the Memories, i had to pause the game and sit to let all of it sink in. dwarf lore enjoyers are feasting with the reveals in VG
My first playthrough was a Dwarf Grey Warden and I did not expect such hard hitting Dwarf lore bombs. Plus allllll the Grey Warden flavor dialogue. It was magical.
I don't know, I think if you need retcon all the previous entries and have holes after holes you can't explains then I'm safely assume it's bad writing. But if this is your first entry of the franchise then might be? You did not know better. I would still encourage those ppl wants to stand on the giant's shoulder to make a name of themselves may be at least learn where the giants come from first, also the giants name.
There isn't ANY retcon happening, other than in the overactive imaginations of the vocal minority who claim this isn't really Dragon Age. True fans, Bioware fans, have been here since the beginning and we LOVE the story arc of the ENTIRE series.

It's LITERALLY the most Dragon Age game that has ever existed :)

Not to mention the level design is Origins with a healthy dose of creativity.
@@DevicCypherDragon Age is whatever Bioware says it is. It's their creation, their IP, they can do whatever they want with it.
Bit late to the party, still working through it, but glad I'm not alone.

Yeah there were quite a few unfortunately.

Love the lore

Yep! They aren't really playing the game to enjoy it at this point. They are rage-baiting.

These scenes were really good when played with an elven Rook, because of the realisation of what Rooks people did to Hardings people.
But but but the writing is supposed to be so BAAAD. 😜

Dwarves and elves FTW. Honestly, anyone who claims that the lore and story aren't deep in this game, haven't actually played the game.
