Nice review, really want one of these, but don't want to pay $500+ when the Dewalt one is $120 and I can use a battery adapter for Makita batteries.

I mean, when you don't even know the differences between those two you are comparing. Then you obviously don't need the expensive one.
It's kind of like comparing a Ford Ranger to a Ford F350!
Of course ones a lot cheaper! One could argue they'll do the same task of getting you to and from work.
But someone who actually knows the differences, they'll know exactly why it cost more.

Chain. Is the powerhead compatible with other Makita attachments?

I don't think so, it's a drive shaft. So not sure how that would work
