Many thanks!! Fun project and worth doing it right the first time. I would suggestion adding more unions and more gate valves for extra flow control and being able to take it apart if needed
I would love to know a complete list of what you purchased and from where! It would definitely help everyone out on what to get in the shopping cart lol
Cuz that looks sick. Looking amazing very nice job on setting up the sump and man does that sump look sweet. Can't wait to see more videos on the progress.
Hey Bro you did a super awesome plumb job!!!!🔥🔥🔥man oh man!!!! Very clean and super neat!!!! The colored pvc was a nice touch!!!! Man this has to be one of the cleanest and neatest plumb job!!! Union ball valve ahhhhh very smart to control the flow👌super awesome job man!!!
Braddah this is sick man!!! So clean love the look with the red and white matching the sump I call it the Candy Cane sump 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️🔴⚪️ love it much love and aloha 🤙🏽🐠🤙🏽
Bro you did a really great job I’m in the same journey it’s a lot of work but I love yours cause is a clean job hopefully looks like yours in the end cause everything is so expensive in this hobby so I don’t want to make mistakes 😅 thanks for sharing this wonderful job🎉❤
Its looking absolutely amazing. The colormatching is on spot! Im really looking forward to the rest of this build. I really would like a sump aswell on my (freshwater) tank, but sumps arent that common here in Sweden so I guess my fx6 have to due for now =)
@@inventoryking Yeah I really like the fx6, but I would love a sump with a refugium in it, I think it looks so nice =) but since the tank is up and running and I dont have the extra tankspace to house the fish, I cant drill the tank for a sump. So I need to figure out some other solution =) maybe an overflowbox or something like that. But since sumps arent used alot over here, its hard to find someone to talk to about it and ask questions.
You the man paul. Looks hella good. I learned the ventilation lesson myself painting a stand the other day. Woke up from the paint fumes. Paint all over me. Jk
Amazing job ! However, if I may suggest - you need to chamfer the pics before glueing :) . It may not seem a big deal now, but it protects your system from leaking in a year or 2 .
Ronnie, thanks for watching. Here are some links. amzn.to/2spsiZp - True Union Ball Valves amzn.to/2VOGvwF - Y Check Valve goo.gl/JDgdjR - 1 Inch Red PVC Pipe goo.gl/Bntrrz - 1.25 Inch Red PVC Pipe Then I got elbows, 45s, tee, adapters, couplers, etc
So the bulk heads you used aren’t the ones that you installed from the previous video you did on the aqueon overflow kits. Why did you change them out? I’m assuming you didn’t like the barb connection and preferred the slip Pvc connection? Just curious on your thoughts?
I can't lie it is a very clean install. However I have to mention PVC pipe works on a theory of solvent welding. The primer is just as if not more important than the glue. It allows a chemical change in the PVC for the weld to occur. I hope you aren't going to run into future problems because you skipped The crucial step. Fingers crossed for you
Very good clean job ,also I am digging the red and white colors.
Thanks!
This was so helpful in relizing what I need to plumb my new tank, simple and clean just the way it should be!
Many thanks!! Fun project and worth doing it right the first time.

@@inventoryking 8 plus 2 little outdoor planter ponds

Yo, thank you so much! I appreciate your watching and commenting. Really, thanks. Happy new year to you as well and #staytanked
If you ain't first your last! Good stuff bro! That sump and setup is beautiful 🤩
Thanks Matt. It was time consuming, but well worth it to me.
@@inventoryking I'm absolutely in love with it, I'm inspired by your build to try on my new tank!
Heck yeah man. Do it. So worth it. I seen that in your vid, Tank was bone dry
Great effort it's all good dont worry to much it looks really good!! Good job brother!!!
Thanks my friend.

Thank you!! It was a fun project!
Great content. What size plumbing did you use for overflow and return if you don’t mind. Great content btw.
Regards Duzzy 🇦🇺
Nice Nice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🏽😍
I appreciate it!
Amazing job dude. Use some silicone for that grommet might work alright
Hey Brock, thanks a lot! And thanks for the tip, I didn’t think of that! 👍🏻
Its looking absolutely amazing. The colormatching is on spot! Im really looking forward to the rest of this build. I really would like a sump aswell on my (freshwater) tank, but sumps arent that common here in Sweden so I guess my fx6 have to due for now =)
Thanks a lot man! I appreciate it. It’s coming together. FX6 is a great option 😁
That makes sense.
I would advise to add marine pure blocks. Looking good
Thanks for the suggestions
What did you purchase those of the 3/4" to 1" pipe adapters running from the returns?
1 inch return
You the man paul. Looks hella good. I learned the ventilation lesson myself painting a stand the other day. Woke up from the paint fumes. Paint all over me. Jk
Thanks Wade!
Good luck brother
Appreciate it
Are those the same bulkheads that came with the mega flow kit ??
No I got different bulkheads for the drain my from lfs.
1' of head pressure in the top tank is well enough to have all pipes level and plumb. Showcase worthy mannn
Thank you for the info and for commenting! I took a lot of pride in building this.
Well done.. Very clean.. #OCD lol
Hahaha no doubt brother! #OCD. Thanks dude, it’s getting there.
What drill did you use for the desk grommet?
I got 2 inch deck grommets and used a 2 inch hole saw. After you drill the hole use hot glue to glue it in place. Works great.
Amazing job ! However, if I may suggest - you need to chamfer the pics before glueing :) . It may not seem a big deal now, but it protects your system from leaking in a year or 2 .
Thanks for your suggestion and watching
Where did you purchase the plumbing for the sump?
The pipe was from bulkreefsupply or Amazon. It’s been a while. The fitting were from my hardware store
Awesome video! You helped me out a ton with this video. Do you have a link for the plumbing and parts you used?
Ronnie, thanks for watching. Here are some links.
amzn.to/2spsiZp - True Union Ball Valves
amzn.to/2VOGvwF - Y Check Valve
goo.gl/JDgdjR - 1 Inch Red PVC Pipe
goo.gl/Bntrrz - 1.25 Inch Red PVC Pipe
Then I got elbows, 45s, tee, adapters, couplers, etc
Are all the PVC,unions, ball valves and Y-check valve 1 inch?
The y is 1.5 I think. The others 1
Thanks man love your videos. I just got the 4-1 300 yesterday because of your video
All i see is a ³/⁴ on Amazon
³/⁴ for the Y check valve
So the bulk heads you used aren’t the ones that you installed from the previous video you did on the aqueon overflow kits. Why did you change them out? I’m assuming you didn’t like the barb connection and preferred the slip Pvc connection? Just curious on your thoughts?
I like bulkheads with the pvc connector better
What lights did you use in tank stand
Can’t remember at the moment. Let me check.
@@inventoryking thank you
How are you liking this sump nearly 9 months later? Is the sump holding up to bowing? I know the acrylic is a bit thin. Looks good.
Hi Lisa, it is a great sump! No bowing that I can see.
HI KING WHERE YOU BY THIS PLUG TO MANAGE THE CABLES THANKS
They call them desk grommets I got it from Home Depot
Where did you get your plumbing kit from? I'm picking up the freedom 4-1
I got the 1 inch red PVC from my friend James Largo. And the fittings from Home Depot.
Thx
anytime.
Why didn’t you add more unions on the return pipe going back into the tank
I should have added more.
Looks great... lots of work but worth the payoff
Hey Johns, it’s worth it for sure.
On this episode of "pimp my plumbing".. Playa Paul shows us how to do it..
Does it run good??
Sure does
Nice shirt !! Mca
Thanks!
I can't lie it is a very clean install. However I have to mention PVC pipe works on a theory of solvent welding. The primer is just as if not more important than the glue. Yeah I know. I only had purple primer and I wanted this to be clean. Its been run for over a month, no issues. Good point though
@@inventoryking they sell clear pvc primer
Nice. But you could’ve just used clear primer
Hi Dave, I appreciate the tip, I wasn’t aware of that.
No worries.. I wasn’t either on my first build.. but yep, there’s clear primer right next to the purple..
Sweet
.iolkk .
huh?
This is not how you plumb. I’ve been doing this for 10 years and this is horrible. I’m sorry.
