Broken record here, but Mario RPG is once again my pick. It's one of my all-time favorite games. I also enjoy Octopath Traveler 2, yet it didn't get the love I think it should have.
There's something about watching/listening to you guys talk about games that is so enjoyable and yet chill. I watch the weekly videos religiously - but the "best of" lists where you just talk it out are so damn good 👌
I keep hearing the praise and seeing the reviews. It’s one of this games where the art style is completely not what I like… so it’s a lot of money to spend if I’m not drawn towards it and then I don’t actually enjoy it. Hmmm.
@@vidclarke I'm the opposite -- I love the art style, but it takes a lot for me to get into tactical RPGs, so I'm scared that I'd spend all that money and never really play it. It looks like it has some great lore to it too; maybe I should just watch someone else's playthroughs
Seeing you two together just makes me think that we need to have some kind of 'Origin Story' of how you guys met, got into games and started up your channel! SwitchUp: The Beginning Rated R
My favourite RPG this year is most definitely Unicorn Overlord. What a game, it's consumed almost all of my free hours for over two months now and I'm still only about two thirds of the way through it, Epic.
I recently picked up unicorn overlord, and you are right. This game is its own thing, I really love the football manager esque battles where you have some control but not to the extent of a turn based combat.
@@gbautista100I think it sold very well considering the release. I remember reading a sales report saying the sale numbers were good. I played and liked the demo so got it but it’s sitting in my backlog until I finish Metaphore. Would love to get Metaphore again on the switch. Probably will get a “Royal” remake version on the Switch 2 knowing Atlus.
I love how you guys bounce off each other in these videos. Everything comes of as very genuine and it really feels like we're getting an honest opinion on games from real gamers.
New Switch owner here… fell out of gaming after the GameCube/Dreamcast era. Mighty different time to be a gamer compared to back then but I gotta say that I am thrilled to have found this channel. Maybe it’s because I’m based in the U.S. but something about Mark and Glen’s accents makes their game reviews stand head and shoulders above the rest (😂). Keep up the amazing work, fellas!
Its quite something. Fleshed out world, day/night cycle, beautiful art, good story arc. Very polished. My only critique is that it was a bit too easy, even on harder difficulties, making tactics during battle a bit simple and rinse repeat. But to the games defense, the difficulty of this game comes from planning and configuring your squads in between battles, since the battles themselves plays out automatically. If you master that, the encounters will become quite easy. So basically, you overcome difficulty by mastering the UI and squad management, which is very deep, with unit composition, primary and secondary skills, turn order and formation, equipment etc... If you have the slightest interest in programming youre gonna love this. Theres a lot of "if() elseif() else() in the skill setup. The only thing I would change with the game would be the option to add a slight randomness to the battle result preview, to keep battles more exciting to watch play out.
It is so nice to just listen to you guys talk about games. You clearly love them and that enthusiasm comes through in every word. And selfishly I do love listening to my own countrymen as finally I have a place to go where our humour aligns and I get most of the ‘regional’ jokes. Thx for all you do, have a great Christmas, Amanda 🎉
I struggle with RPGs these days, so I appreciate it when you guys mention that you have to play through the first hour or so before it gets good. I hate giving up on a game, just to find out it gets much better after the first hour! Brothership looks okay, art style is cool. I’m always surprised when I learn about RPGs that existed on DS/3DS like the Mario Luigi series.
I started watching your channel when I got my switch close to launch and it's amazing seeing you still going. One of the most chill channels out there. Happy holidays and hope to see you thriving with Switch 2 on the horizon!!

RPGs is my Jam. This should be good 😎
Another banger year for switch JRPGs.
Got through 3 of these, but may have to throw a few on the backlog for next year that I'll never actually get to haha
I'm so glad that Falcom opened their eyes regarding Switch, I can't wait to see their output on Switch 2.
So good to have you both back to yourselves and the chaos returned to your videos!
More to come!
Love the Final Fantasy Sound 😂🤣😂 Keep up the great content
