TSL should do a segment where they follow the lives of different occupation in SG so as to give viewers a glimpse what are the misconceptions, the good and the hardships that each occupation carries. This episode is really good! 👍🏻💯
well the reason for all airline to put through their candidates for debate session is because the recruiter wants to see the candidate's true colours. At this moment the recruiter are able to judge and see how well you handle a situation. Some may act defensive or remain too quite so for these 2 extreme character is a major turn off for the recruiter. That is why it is important to remember to remain confident and as open minded as possible while maintaining poise. :)
I was a senior cabin crew with a major airline and regularly interviewed candidates who wanted to be cabin crew. If I were to assess them all who are in the video I spotted three of the five who I would take through to the final round. I think that if they really wanted to be cabin crew and took it seriously these three could potentially make it.
Hahaha. Well, i guess what the interviewers are looking for is calm, composed , restricted and friendly. If you can act and love to do service, you already won half of it.
Well done guys!! It takes a lot of effort to be in such field. I know I'm sucks bcs I'm gonna cringe all the way. I'm fckin awkward in front of crowd, my heart pounds like crazy, panic attack in a group interview (happened once), etc.. I'll never put myself in that kind of situation anymore
hi can you guys try to debate a round? I'm from a debate team so it'd be interesting to see you guys trying out since alot of people don't really see it as fun or idk, it's just not a norm to see people debate or hear that you're a debater
This is funny...The thing is - the qns are just trying to see your reaction. If you talk too aggravated and hands waving in air. It's a no. If you are poised, then yes. interviewers are mostly current or ex stewardesses that can sense if you are memorising lines/ pretending to be cool.
1) You know you're going to be killed on your next flight. What do you do? 2) During a long-haul flight a group of passengers ask you to sing for them. What do you do? 3) (For the boys) While taxiing, just before taking off, you learn that your best mate (more like a brother) has just been involved in a horrific accident and he is dying in a hospital's ICU in the same city. What do you do? 4) (For the females) A handsome passenger wants to make out with you in the lavatories during the night. You like him. What do you do? 5) You're serving green tea to passengers while suddenly the plane hits turbulence. You drop the teapot, which hits a passenger hard, right in the head. The teapot bounces off to his seatmate, leaving him thoroughly drenched in tea (luckily, it was iced green tea). What do you do? 6) Does the idea of cleaning up the toilets of the beautiful 787 excite you? 7) Mid-flight you open an overhead compartment to take out some trinkets that a passenger needs, and out jumps a furious spitting cobra. What do you do?
everyone says that I should be a steward in SIA because I'm tall, but after I heard how they look at my posture and stuff I'm like no way I can stand up straight for d whole flight 😂
tbh i heard from a friend whose mom is one of the HR persons that they will eliminate people who are not tall enough like how jessica got eliminated, they have a height requirement actually, but the most shocking was that my friend's mom would eliminate people who are also not too good looking like if you have acne etc you would be eliminated... i mean you have to show you care about how you look and also presentation wise i guess..?
Anabelle i guess it’s unfair (but since when was life fair right) but also understandable because i guess airlines would want good looking stewards to provide the best experience visual wise for their customers? maybe idk eigher
I think Sneha could look the part , but is also a very opinionated person and that shows. It's honestly a good quality to have imo , to stay by your opinion and isn't easily affected by others , but I think they're also looking for people who can look receptive and less opinionated. So maybe you have to be damn fake ? And damn good at hiding it. Idk it's so mysterious. But fighting for what you believe is always good !
Don't forget that air stewards and stewardesses are in service line. Not only face customers, but also face your bosses and colleagues. Hierarchy is damn important in SIA. So they don't want someone that's opinionated. They'd rather pick someone who will keep quiet and accept whatever their boss tell them.
They want smart intelligent candidates but they also want obedient , less opinionated employees...hmm sounds to me like they want A.I !! Robots it is !
@@LittleStrawbirdy Well thanks for that, I'm definitely not applying for the SIA Cabin Crew job anymore then. As what Overlord of Hell said, it is fundamentally conflicting for a company or boss to expect smart intelligent and independent employees who are at the same time also obedient and borderline yes-men/women. This definitely looks like it's gone way past the line of tact to obeisance.
Only 10% of candidates made it to the final rounds and selected to be SIA cabin crews. I knew of someone who tried for the 6th time before she got it. They're looking for that X factor.
Any job whereby no transparent and equitable criteria exists for common knowledge and practice so as to ensure a decent chance for any potential interviewee to score well for his/her interview isn't going to be a good career in the long run. That's my personal opinion. When you flat out can't tell why some people made the cut and some people didn't, and when there could be a thousand different whims and reasons why they made it or they didn't on the behest of the interviewer, how do you expect that you even had a fair shot at the interview and weren't already stacked up against a stacked deck compared to other applicants?
My previous three flights with SQ after not taking SQ for a year and I'm shocked at how rude a lot of them are:( I have been hit in the head with the cart many times with no apology (and their carts actually shook from the impact) but they simply went on rolling. I'm really sad about it because I'm usually the one to defend sq when others were saying that their standard is dropping.
This show is quite cool, they should get a Eurasian into the group! Then they can have all races in singapore represented. Wink wink* Also I went for the interview and I got in straight away, I wore a tie and blazer and I glamed up my face and acted very polite and attentive and charming. So I think they just want someone who is sure of themselves and has a personality.
Just wondering, since SIA didn't know these candidates are from TSL and these TSL staff were only told about this the day before, how did you guys manage to arrange this interview beforehand? And why never ask Q to go for the interview, I think she's tall enough 😂
jessica elimiated becos height . sean eliminated becos maybe attitude. amirul elimiated becos "mom" chicken rice. adriel eliminated idku the last one elimiated cos lost control to arguing.
for the debate round, teams are assigned a side - Affirmative (argue in favour of a topic and Negative (argue against it) What Sneha meant was that she was trying to argue against the topic, not lose temper
The interview so hard...wanna look for Einstein izzit? If people so smart, what for work as a flight attendant?! Go become the CEO of SingTel liao...siaolah this SQ.
Honestly speaking, your grooming when you all went to the interview was not very "SQ". The girls should have had their hair up in a bun. Professional business suit should have been worn. And it would have helped if you painted your nails red too. The grooming for the male counterparts was decent, except for the guy with the beard lah.
Oh yeah forgot to mention. They also do a very quick 5 min sensing of whether they like you - just looking at you. But of course , my info is like 17 yrs ago. Haha I was ex crew too
TSL should do a segment where they follow the lives of different occupation in SG so as to give viewers a glimpse what are the misconceptions, the good and the hardships that each occupation carries. This episode is really good! 👍🏻💯
they actually did XD
Fauzi should try out the interview
Zombie Fire ya and Jonathan. They both very good at talking and debating😂
Send Julian please, the interviewers will die laughing haha
VC Rubix pretty sure they'll want the interview to be a serious one...

the fact that joyce was an ex air stewardess in SIA rly shook me

I like this ep the most from tsl by far!
the line is probably bcos of the overhead compartment and height is important
Do Silk Air interview next! Since they accept male candidates now
This is interesting! It's nice to know behind the scene stuffs. You guys should do more undercover stuff!
Really love this episode !!
You guys should try this again to see the difference, well maybe not during the covid, but later.
Im shipping this group. Bring them more

The girl in the blue dress really pretty. Out of all 5, shes the only eligible one in my eyes in terms of looks ,etc
SIA is the best airlines in the world and also one of the hardest airlines to enter in the world.
I think she meant "grit" not "greed" at 7:34 😂
Please, please, please release the talent search episode!!! 😂😂😂
mistakkes x it ended already...
dancestigate slimestigate Yeah but they haven't released the episodes of day 2 and the last day

dancestigate slimestigate it alr ended?
LivinLikeLisa didn't it? Some of them were eliminated so isn't that the end of the talent search?
Can you imagine if Ra went to the interview?
I doubt SIA would want either of these airheads or that they could fill out a kebaya 😂 😂 😂
Only 10% of candidates made it to the final rounds and selected to be SIA cabin crews. I knew of someone who tried for the 6th time before she got it. They're looking for that X factor.
My Dad Works With SIA,He sees the vigourous training that they have to go through everday-Walking with a tray, type of grammer etc
Nooo where's Fauzi in this!! He'll confirm get through😂

What Sneha meant was that she was trying to argue against the topic, not lose temper
First!
I think at 7:34 the girl meant 'grit' instead of 'greed'
joyce was from SIA?!?!
The interview so hard...wanna look for Einstein izzit? If people so smart, what for work as a flight attendant?! Go become the CEO of SingTel liao...siaolah this SQ.
A lot of "greed"?? I think Jessica meant "grit"! Lol
My eyesight is -2 is it acceptable in sia? Please let me know.
wah lao i know some SIA stewards, not good looking, also cannot speak properly.
Its not about the way u speaks.. all u need is quality and passion inside u.. i guess.. thats why they make it
Interestingly with the tough interview, we still get a bad faced bad service crew in SIA.
Honestly speaking, your grooming when you all went to the interview was not very "SQ". The girls should have had their hair up in a bun. Professional business suit should have been worn.
