I've been using a padded bowling ball bag. The helmet fits perfect and there are extra pockets.

I have that patch on a small hard case where I keep my PVS-14. I tell people it's a last ditch effort anti-theft device lol.
I have this helmet carrier and like the concept but I have a few critiques on it. I also have the helmet hut from First Spear. As for the Otte helmet carrier, I have a big noggin and wear an XL Ops Core SF Fast Ballistic with minimal attachments. I have the OpsCore Amps, Amp Arms, Pinceton Tec Admin Light, and S&S precision M-AX mount with Vampire Light . As you see in the video, John has to remove the G24 mount. I don't think he wears and XL so you can imagine how mine fits. A little more wiggle room on both the width and length would be appreciated. My next comment might sound strange as I mention how tight it is. But, I also believe, there is a lot of wasted space. The right side of the bag (the non-pockets side) has hook and loop. This is where I attach some accoutrements such as PID lights and tasks lights. That is the only hook and loop on the carrier itself. I wish they would have made the bottom, or the floor, of the carrier hook and loop so additional items can be attached in and around the helmet. The pouches on the left side of the carrier are held shut by elastic retention. I'd prefer zip
pered pockets as I've had some heavier items, such as battery caddys, fall out in transport. Also, that left side could be hook and loop as well. As for the detachable pouch for NODs and such, I really like it. However, since the helmet is so tight in the bag it pushes back too much on the pouch and makes me lose a bit of confidence. I purchased a NODs nest and carry my NODs inside my helmet while the pouch is reserved for the mount, cleaning supplies, and the Ops Core Stepin Visor.
As I said, I very much like the concept of this carrier. I do use it as my primary helmet carrier. I just wish it was slightly larger to accommodate my melon and be a little more efficient in it's layout.

If you have a pvs 14 the usgi optics bag (folds up they're like $5 ACU) Fits the 14 and then snugs up inside the helmet. Low cost and you get allot of padding with it.

I wish someone would make a closed cell foam helmet insert to hold NOD(s) inside the helmet without having it flop around because it's held down by the foam. I can then just put my helmet inside a soft case like this and I'll be Gucci 👌
