I forgot about those strange stories that Ron used to tell towards the end of the news. I vaugely remember Carol Marin wearing glasses. I was 10 at the time of this broadcasting. She resigned from NBC because NBC wanted to give Jerry Springer (yes the same Jerry Springer) a commentary segment. Shortly after her resignation, Ron Magers also resigned for the same reason. I'm originally from Waukegan, and I remember the Alton Coleman story very well.

I saw Carol on Today when Jane Pauley took maternity leave. Being from Atlanta, I could only get WGN. I liked Allison Payne and Deborah Norville on Today. But Carol had that leadership where she can the make biggest loser feel like they are someone without the need of a relationship. Monica Kaufman of WSB had that.
