    Yes , you are definitely a talented engineer and fabricator , I wish my dad was still alive to watch your brilliant videos , he would have loved them , being a draughtsman toolmaker back in the day , then sold machine tools as in press brakes, lathes , milling machines he was saddened when Cnc machines came in , as he thought some skills were lost , but again said they were so accurate and efficient compared to manual labour

      It is just sheet metal that has been laser cut. You can do it your self with a grinder and cut off wheel. Then just bend it.

    Where’s the filler wire, and argon backup gas? The ends should be plugged and purged with argon before welding. Stainless will crystallize and fail. Especially on a vibrating dirt bike.

    • @PaulXchannel
      @PaulXchannel  4 года назад +13

      Ok

    • @andrewwilson8317
      @andrewwilson8317 4 года назад +1

      Not always. I have made quite a few exhausts from stainless steel without back purging and not had much in the way of failures. Comes down to the choice and quality of the steel. I had a turbo manifold crack but reckon it was down to vibration rather than crystallisation of the weld or base metal. Crack was repaired with weld and turbo brace support fitted and it has not failed in a few years of service.
      Check the grade and source of your metal very carefully! Should come with a copy of the certificate of conformity. Some cheap Chinese metal is cheap for a reason!

    • @MrCh33s
      @MrCh33s 4 года назад +1

      @@andrewwilson8317 still though, stainless should always be back purged and in addition to, a larger gas lense should have been used along with aiming the arc into the joint as opposed to along it, all these things can introduce cracking, sometimes you get get away with it though but it isn't ideal 🤷🏼‍♂️ still a nice job where you can see there has been attention to detail though
