For those people who hate reading manuals for cars. Here is the summary of all the features you need to know before driving the car

Byd has rdefineing saftey standards through the entire industry
They are good on price and battery tech, not sure if they are as good as the Germans at cars yet.
They are OK, I wouldn’t say they are a leader. Being able to drive the car once unlocked / unrestricted with no proximity fail safe is a bit nuts. If you unlock the car with the card the card should be present to enable a drive for the duration of the drive.

For the adaptive cruise control: - first you can turn it on by clicking on the “res and set” button;
- then if you want to set the adaptive cruise control to your current speed, just push the “little wheel” down (set)
- at last if you break, the adaptive cruise control will turn off/in stand-by, and if you want to turn it back on to your latest set speed, turn the “little wheel” up (resume). 👍

How do you turn ACC off? We tried what the manual says but it doesnt seem to work.

Thank you. A couple of things you mention I didn't know. I always press the mic button on the steering wheel when I need to ask BYD, and then I try and put on an American or Asian accent for her to understand me 😂. I had to read the manual how to use the cruise control, basically press the button and then pull the adjacent lever down to set it at the curent speed.
While messing with the cruise control I have had Miss A try to set my speed to the default 30km while on a freeway not very nice Miss A. Just remember where the Microphones are if you wish to be heard.
9:53 - That button is the electronic Handbrake. The P under the shifter just means the car is in Park. The EHB is more for hills etc like in older cars when you put car in Park or N and then you pull the handbrake. Thats what that button does.
jesus christ to think you had to explain it to a guy giving tips. having a hard time believing there are people not knowing what a handbreak is, doesnt matter if it electronic or not.
Thx for your Video Chris !, Excelent content !!, just to make clear that the button you describe in 10:49 is not emergency braaking but it is the Blindspot monitoring system which also controls the cruise traffic alert. Greetings and thx again.

If the charge door doesn't open, you can also just press the unlock button in the door controls too.

The microphone wasn't picking you up because the zone has been set to only listen to the passenger. You can see the text below the Hi BYD text indicates the zone is locked to the passenger side. You can lock the zones to passenger, driver or front seats in the settings. Good review though. Thanks.

What about your phone holder. Which type is it & have you found It works well?
A 3rd question. Can the power be disconnected from the car while it is charging overnight or does it lock to prevent that?

Frunk is fine and available on OS models,
Phone holder is Baseus and made of mostly metal grips is ok but still moves.
Settings allows both options for AC charging.

Out of interest, how long is the AC charger cable? I'm contemplating one of these and need to get a PowerPoint installed in my carport. Just wondering how long the cable is so I know it will reach. I can see the charge port is on front driver side, so that's good to know 😉
Most charge cables are 5meters in lengths.

Your dash mat, I've seen it for sale and wondered if it obstructs the airbags from deploying properly? I'd like to get a mat to protect my dash from fading (planning to sell at end of 5 year novated lease) but worried about safety.
The dash mat is very light and just sits on the dash. The main problem with this mat is the pattern. The pattern can reflect on the glass when you drive towards the sun.

I have the same issue so I put a memory foam bat mat under my seat cover. But after 6months still enjoying the car.
Interesting a few people have said this, but I haven’t noticed it. I am 5’10’’. Not sure why they don’t bother me.

Try Bunnings as the Bunnings basket is the right size.
I would get something 20 mm shorter in length as it just touches the AC pipes.
Hi there, you can actually buy aftermarket frunks now. I think they are around $400.
@@leakyboomboomman3098 Thanks for the info. I have found a container at Bunnings that fits perfectly in the biggest empty space. I just had my first service done and my "Frunk" container upset the service technician. He took it out and told me in no uncertain terms that "nothing" is to be placed under the bonnet.
Are those the rubbertree executive rubber mats u got there chris?
Yes they are fantastic looks like carpet, just shake them and they are clean.
@@Carnormous mine just arrived and they look and feel great. Decided on these vs the carpet as we have 2 dogs. Hair gets everywhere regardless but these are easier to clean n look decent at same time.

What’s the max distance from your car that you can start the air con using the remote ?
Hi Andrew, max distance is around 10 metres, with the new Byd phone app you could be in another country, a little bit scary.

Hi Sharyn, you can't, the only way is to buy adjustable charger like i have shown in my videos.
I ordered the Atto 3, am reading the manual. I dont understand what is "ignition switch", no picture. Why need to "ignite" a EV, got no spark plug, right?
Just turns the screen displays on so it is ready to drive.
Quick question we have set our Atto3 31:07 up as a camper car and want to sleep in it when charging and camping grounds etc ideally with a C on but the headlights are always on can we turn them off?
Also a suggestion perhaps in future videos you could describe where the buttons you are indicating are located as it would be useful to review while driving

I've seen some very different dash materials on Atto 3. That patterned one is similar to the one I test drove. But others have plain blue....
Plain is better.
How do you start the trip metre
Press the button in at the end of the blinker stock.
I m new car owner from nepal.. it's just 2nd of my car. Back glass of my car got heated while it's lock .. specially from 5 pm to 6 pm.. when I lock car twice, the problem got solved .. it's been the same problem since 2 days .. any answer will b highly appreciated
Probably best to ask BYD. Should be under warranty if there is no damage.
How do you turn off the DLR when parked?
Not sure, my software i can't do it.

Button at 11.09 is Blind Spot Assist. Not braking.
I can't get all the buttons right. There is just too many ;--)

Interesting! I must be getting old when all this seems superfluous to hopping into the car and simply driving it.
It's super easy to drive and as complicated as you want to be.
@@Carnormous well we have a limited edition Kia Niro hybrid that self drive assists, brakes for cars ahead if you want with all the superfluous gadgetry that I am positive is encouraged by those pariah insurance companies. I far prefer my 1992 Mercedes plain Jane 2.3 litre 190 E . Modern cars are essential I know but the manufacturers are clambering blindly or desperately to best the competition throwing frankly a number of electronic novelty many people aren't compelled to deal with or for that matter read a manual on these issues the size of a door stop.
@@davidpicard5376 I had a W series Merc, engine fell out after the engine mounts failed.
I much prefer the BYD as long as it engine doesn't fall out.
@@jimgraham6722 mine is a wonderfully over engineered 2.3 190 E . It'll go forever until it's illegal to drive an ICE vehicle. However it's nice to drive an electric car feeling smug as if you're saving the planet.

@@davidpicard5376 What I am mostly interested in is the powerful, smooth ride in near silence. Additionally, I am very pleased at as no longer having to line the pockets of oil sheiks and similar corporatists.
My old Merc was a good vehicle in its time but compared to the EV it drove like a 10 tonne truck. It has now gone to Merc heaven.
Do you know how to stop robotic sound at low speed?
Yes! The speaker is located near the radiator. You can watch a NZ video on how to disconnect.
It's a safety feature and shouldn't be turned off. When manouvering out of a car park it needs to be heard. The Leaf has a loud "pinging" when reverse is engaged, this serves the same function.

The cable under the bonnet does not unlock the charge port door. It only releases the charging plug if the lock won't release. Only pressing unlock twice on the key will unlock the door.

The park brake should be used at night when at a junction rather than auto hold on the door brake. This will mean you don’t blind the person behind with brake lights.
