    Owing atto3 for 4 month now, so fun to drive, most comfortable car I have ever owned, and the smartest as well. The seat and steering wheel is just the best combination, even more comfort to steer than the BMW M2C which is a nice sports car. The car reminds me if I forgot to close the door or forgot to turn the low beam light, even remind me to check the coming vehicle before I open the driver door. Also avoid a hit by stop my merge to the next lane while a car just behind and in a blind viewing area.

    Yeah be careful saying "BYD" in the car, like saying "Mercedes" in a Mercedes. :) Didn't know about the dance party with the interior ambient lights to the music. See Atto 3 where I live in Australia daily pretty much, plus it can tow(750kg) and take a roofbox(50kg). Have you checked out the Dolphin or Seal, depending if BYD have got them in your market yet or not. Interesting they don't offer heated seats for you, I suspect it's in the seat they haven't enabled it in software for you though as there is heated seats in the Australian market. Did you see the Dragon face in the front of the car? There is a button on the steering wheel that rotates the screen as well, did you find it? :) That range you give isn't WLTP though as WLTP is 420km on extended range, unlikely you hit 480 or 420km though in real world driving more like 350-400km. The EV cars from China are like Japanese cars 40yrs ago when Toyota first entered the markets outside of Japan but better than cars of 40yrs ago thanks to improvements in safety and passenger comfort. Month of May in Australia was best sales month so far almost 1500 Atto 3's sold/delivered, think YTD deliveries are over 4000 and number 2 only to the Tesla Model Y for EV sales.

    • @bengtures

      No, the Dolphin and Seal aren't on Malaysian soil yet.
      Yes, I did find the button on the steering wheel for the rotating screen.
      Agree with the real world driving. In Malaysia, city driving (depends where you live) we travel at most 100km a day. It's just our traffic jams are terrible because of the number of cars on the road.

    With the latest v1.5 OTA, the car will only respond when you say the words "Hi BYD". No need to whisper the word "BYD" anymore. Don't review ATTO3 anymore, just buy lah.

      @@bengtures the atto3 is the Yuan plus model in china. it is a budget model for people with limited requirement for tech and comfort. it is like the Redmi of the ev market. even under the byd brand, there are song, frigate, tang, at least three suv models that are better equipped. they are all very affordable in china. the primary headach for ev buyers in china is there are too many compellig options and more of them emerge every month.

    I don’t know why there’s a sudden surge in ev purchases here in Malaysia. What is the benefit really? There are many other videos like this on why EVs are not the way forward ruclips.net/video/03-cF_ozoQs/видео.html
    I believe the middle class should reconsider before buying. The rich have lotta money to throw away so it’s fine.

    • @Glee73
      @Glee73 Год назад +1

      most people who buy cars nowadays, especially in this price range do not keep them more than 10 years.. so whether its the way forward or not, its too soon to say. some of the main benefits is.. your petrol bill can drop as much as 70%, maintenance is also very low.. the cars have hundreds less moving parts so less problems to crop up.. they are also vibration free, quiet and very comfortable to drive.

    • @scg9065
      @scg9065 Год назад

      @@Glee73 Wow 70% is quite impressive indeed. For me that would be a saving of about 1.5k a year. But for those who keep their cars about 7-9 years or so that’d be a savings of about 10-15k.
      Given that the future major maintenance costing (battery etc) 10+ years down the road would lead to additionally higher depreciation rates than ICE cars, wouldn’t this kinda make it less worth it for this group of buyers who sell cars (just after loan payments are near over)? Since they would suffer the bulk of the depreciation that is.
      The petrol savings could be decent, but it’s quite a gamble to see if the extra depreciation rates would wipe out those savings. Personally I’d rather wait for more data and a more established infrastructure before jumping in. Cars are an expensive purchase after all. Also, I don’t think there’s much to be gained by being an early adopter of the EVs. Right? Unless our govt offers more incentives given the recent Elon buzz hahaha.
      Yea, I’ve heard of the cost savings on regular maintenance. This one seems a lil harder to factor in.
      Just my shower time thoughts on the matter. But yea, too much uncertainty. Guess we’ll just have to see how it all unfolds.
