    Like the carrier scenarios, this situation is much more complex IRL. There are several Air Force One aircraft that operate as decoys flying on very different vectors, and each has a beastly ECM/ESM/countermeasures suite. Additionally, some F22/F35 would likely arrive in the airspace long before the main group enters the zone, ready to shoot any likely aggressors as soon as they’re wheels-up. Also: other military and civilian A/C in the area that have no idea what’s going on around them.

    • @gregtims7627
      @gregtims7627 Год назад

      Agreed, AF1 is one of the most closely guarded secrets in the USAF. We probably know more about the F22 and the F35 than we will ever know about AF1. Honestly the DCS mod is only a Boeing 747 with the AF1 skin.

      USA is not firing on Russian air craft taking off from russian bases in russian air space. This is a not a movie. They would absolutely not strike first unless they somehow got confirmed radio comms stating that the planes taking off from that airport were on their way to intercept and neutralize AF1. But IF they got confirmed intel that fighters were taking off from 500 miles ahead of AF1, it would do an immediate 180 and land at the nearest allied base, it would not continue flying. Then they would likely have a couple F-22 loiter at the border and turn back any jets trying to catch AF1.

      And the moment they picked up an aircraft heading toward AF-1, it would turn around and fly the other way, not continue on to certain death. The only chance they would have is a pop up attack by the Felon ,otherwise they'd never get within 300 miles.

    You should do a follow-up version of the scenario, where government Russian Air forces are dispatched to stop the rogue general's attempt to shoot down Air Force 1. You could have Russians, versus Russians, and if you really wanted to throw a wrench in, the Americans would still be there and not know which Russians to shoot.

    SuperCap did make a note that Air Force One in real life might have an EW suite which, given the important passengers would almost certainly be the case if not from a nearby AWACS or even the escorts. Also I am suspicious how good those ax heads performed here given the real life performance in the war seems to be...less than Russian claims to put it kindly. Still better to overestimate than underestimate though.

      The R-37M's fired in the Russo-Ukraine war are usually fired at or near maximum ranges against maneuvering low-flying targets (Fighters/CAS bombers etc.). With those circumstances in mind, the PK should be fairly low. It is not like other missiles would fair any better to be quite honest, including the AIM-120D and AIM-260.

    Just the company of US fighter jets would create a very interesting situation. All else said, i suspect real Airforce One has some tricks up it's sleeve. The ingame version certainly has less bits and pieces on the top.
    Including a real pilot that can react to things. That would be interesting to build in, if it were possible with a 747. Maybe a replacement? Also a 747 is very heavy but it also has some power, so it would be interesting to see what it could or would do in such a situation.
    Not suggesting that movie thing where it literally evades a missile. But it wouldn't just go on in a straight line. And it certainly has some sort of countermeasures.

In this scenario, russia would have needed to sneak some mobile SAMs into allied territory and waited till AF1 flew over.

      The beauty of most runways is that they're flat. I get what you mean but it's a balance of software settings to filter, and radar power to pick everything up. There's a sweet spot where it works well. But if you don't have it in that sweet spot stuff will get filtered by the software. The closer you are to the terrain the more likely it is that software will filter you out as part of the terrain. In the case of stronger radars, it has the potential to work against the software by overwhelming it

Also, HOW would they know that this was Air Force One in the first place? There is so much security and secrecy behind the President's movement, that this part makes it VERY unrealistic. Hell, Ukraine didn't know he was coming in the first place. I also do not think that anyone in Russia has the balls to commit to shooting down the President of the only other country in the world with enough nukes to glass the entirety of Russia.....

Now you just need the pilot to get a sore ass from that spring in the seat that hasn't been replaced in 15 years. Also yeah, keep the cloud/weather effects on. Add some storms sometimes if the sim has them. I think you have either taken too much turning away from the R37 or you need to set its active tracking to start much earlier. Its pretty fair to say if you can't hit a 747 flying in a straight line you can't hit anything.

  • @MultiMagnis
    @MultiMagnis Год назад +5

    Your first major issue is thinking AF1 is a regular 747 as illustrated in this scene. no moving actions for its suite of def measures. it is not easy and can jam missiles but also planes from seeking it regularly. your 2nd issue was thinking AF1 could not see you before you can see it and lock on to it. what is so funny is in the scene you guys have the raptors flying with biden and then moving out. in reality the f-22 and or f-35 would be out before biden to sweep the area. no airplanes will be allowed in the sky. lastly the plane with the jet would take the missile hit or drop its flares to mess up the missile. we saw none of that as it probably is hard to program that into a simulation. there is a point in 2 regulars staying with the plane as those two jets would be able to push out flares and if need be. use their plane to save AF1. duty above life is absent in this video.

    • @juanisosa22
      @juanisosa22 Год назад

      The scenarios that this channel runs never really follow realistic or sensible tactics. Doing a large fighter sweep plus EW assets would make this boring and never allow the attackers anywhere close. They are having fun and nobody should take these "tests" as reflecting anything close to real performance.

    • @Power5
      @Power5 Год назад

      Please let them know the complete specs of the EW and countermeasures suite on AF1 so they can model them. We will wait for that. F-22 may do a sweep ahead of time for sure, but they are not going to enter russian airspace and will not strike first. If they see fighters taking off from russian airbases on a vector towards AF1's flight path, they would radio to AF1 and it would immediately turn around. Such a fun video to watch some planes flying a few hundred miles and turning around to fly back.
      Your last mention about duty above life was 100% in this video. Unfortunately because this was an entertainment video and AF1 continued into hostile airspace, the hostiles had launched 4 missiles at AF1. Damp was able to sacrifice himself but 4 missiles against 3 planes will not end well for the 3 planes. That is what happened.

It has chaff, flares, IR, radar of its own (I think more than just the weather radar but could be wrong). Reinforced wings extra, powerful engines cuz the normal Civilian 747 didn't have enough apparently. If we have an airborne Lazer, it has it cuz we know they have plans to add it.
