You just dropped the video at the right moment. I was thinking of using your tool days before and just when I was about to get on it you dropped this GEM. Thank you and God bless you bro!!!
You dropped the video at the right moment, i'm a beginner video editor, i know how to edit reels for creators and digital businesses but using the workflow premiere pro - after effects, which really i don't like. I've been falling in love with Davinci Resolve and never want to stop use it. Snap Captions is everything we need to speed up workflow when editing complex reels with animations and vfx for creators. I hope snap captions stays on davinci F O R E V E R! Glad i discovered your channel Orson. Keep posting videos, please! you help so much.

So stoked for this update. Positioning tip: Instead of regenerating by having to make another template you drag into the bin, you can merely turn on the transform view in the bottom left of your video viewer, and drag the caption where you want it on screen. Then copy that caption, highlight all the other captions you want to have the same position on, press alt (option on Mac) + v, and choose position. If you made any other changes you want to have carry over, you can do that too (as long as they're part of the transform options--custom caption title settings don't seem to transfer). And violia, quick changes to all of your selected captions.
i liked bins just fine but i updated now and the new system works very well. i had no trouble using the templates i was using before by making my own library.

With free Resolve, they recently took away support for plugins GUI, if you downgrade to Resolve 19.0.3 or below, it will work. You will still need a solution for subtitling, which usually involves importing SRT files, so it's not as easy as "1 click:
I just installed the new update and opened up the practice folder, but your MOV file doesn't show in the timeline on Resolve Studio. What happened here? I also see two instances of SNap Captions when I go into the Workspace>Scripts tab. Is there a way to delete the duplicate or remove the old version of SnapCaptions in the program?
Can u make it convert the snap caption subtitles back to davinci subtitles? Or export the snap captions as a subtitle file? The reason i use snap captions is because you cant create compound clips with the davinci built in ones so its hard to edit and keep track of everything compared to the snap captions
I just updated davinci to v19, and it says I have reached a limitation. Now I have to pay if I want this plugin to work. Is there another way to install this? It was working in v18

having trouble with the tool not grabbing the text+ template, just says nothing found... anyone else have this issue?
Hi Orson, there's a way to remove the bump text effect?
Yeah, it's all exposed in fusion and is fully customiseable
Hey, I'm new to the game, can I use this with the free version of Davinci or only with the studio version? Thanks!
With free Resolve, they recently took away support for plugins GUI, if you downgrade to Resolve 19.0.3 or below, it will work.
You will still need a solution for subtitling, which usually involves importing SRT files, so it's not as easy as "1 click:
did i miss up something it says font not found: bangers Regular
nevermind just finished the video THANKS MY DUDE
You're welcome :)
I found the snappy face... unfortunately i can't post the picture. ;D
Thanks for the amazing tool... checking it out atm. ;)
I just updated davinci to v19, and it says I have reached a limitation. Now I have to pay if I want this plugin to work. Is there another way to install this? It was working in v18
If you downgrade Resolve to 19.0.3 or below, it will work. Resolve rolled back support for GUI in plugins on the free version in the latest updates 😢
What a legend
Thank you!
It'd be real nice if you heard us LOUD and CLEAR. Does not work in 19.1.2
Usually, we need more information than that to understand what's going on. It's working for almost the entirety of our users. I can't do much if you don't share anything.
will it be possible to emphasize an active word in the new version?:))
Soon ;)
not working in free verison
Since when Davinci dont allow scripts in the free version? I used the older one a lot, but now with 19 I "reached a limitation"?

can't seem to figure out why its failing to install snap captions. I'm on master bin when trying to install and from the library it said failed to install
Does an error pop up?
Do I need the Studio version of Davinci Resolve?
There's a new update to Resolve, where the free version doesn't work with many plugins, including Snap Captions. The quick solutions are either:
1 - downgrade to free resolve 19.0.3 (that still works with plugins)
2 - Purchase a studio license.
As frustrating as it is, we suspect it became too costly for Resolve to give plugin support for the free version of Resolve. It costs a lot of money to maintain plugin support for software.

does it work in any other language?
Case Conversion to capital letters within the plugin no longer works for me in this new update. help!
Update: I reverted to version 1.5, working again. Will keep an eye out for a fix. Thanks for all you do Orson!
same problem here
Thanks for this, we've got someone on it now. Should have a fix published soonish :)
@@mikeserman hello how do I revert to an older version?
@@mateocroma go to the 1.5 download, and drag the lua file into the Resolve console
Davinci says I need to upgrade to the Studio version everytime I want to run the Snap Captions script, any fixes?
Use Resolve 19.03 or earlier versions :)
@ So the new version blocks access to more stuff, just when I escaped capcut:)))
Its not working in mine when I copy it to console it ask me buy studio version
what should I do now

Is this plug in for spanish speaker?, use another one but the sync is not good, like one fraame bckwaard or forward for every word, so cannot use it, but dont want to buy this is not accurate for spanish speakers, appreciate it.
I did all things that you mention and then click on genrare it does not generate the subtitles does it only work with English sub
Check Resolve's supported subtitle languages, there's a few.
How do you rename things when they are in the media pool? I've been trying, but i can't, i just change the name in the timeline and then i drag it into the media pool, but that's annoying
You can right click and rename. Or a long pressed left click works for me.
Alright alright I’ll buy studio 😭 the generative subtitles would just be too good to pass up
My man! Best investment of your life! Bought mine 8 years ago, and it's the single best value purchase I ever made!
Is it working with other lenguages
every time i drop the .lua file into the console it gave me this message "You have reached a limitation with DaVinci
Resolve" also when i run my old Snap Caption it will do the same thing

@TheOrsonLord I appreciate it. It kinda sucks for resolve doing us like this . But I understand
@@TheCobblerYT it definitely does suck. Feel free to reach out in discord if you ever need advice.
We’ve seen a few editors see good success with just a few questions and hearing from experienced professionals.
for some reason. i placed the Lua file in the console but it says DaVinci limitations error thing if you dont have the studio version? I never had this error with 1.5 can you please help. ty
It's related to Resolve 19.1 and above updates.
The newer versions of free Resolve don't support plugins.
@@TheOrsonLord you should have mentioned it in video.
thanks bro
It'd be really cool to see what someone of your proficiency uses Snap for.
Love your content :)
@@TheOrsonLord Thanks! Mainly I use it to test text presets and for client jobs. It's been super helpful
Is this for Davinci Resolve Studio? I can't install it to free version.
Look up discussions on free vs studio use-ability of plugins. There's been recent changes.
Easiest solution is to get studio if you can. It's the best bang for buck purchase you'll ever make.
If I want to use snap caption should I have Studio
DaVinci Studio if 19.1 or above, or the older versions of FREE DaVinci Resolve 19.0.03. (latest free versions don't support most plugins now).
@@TheOrsonLord Thank you sir and you are the best
When I try to drag the lua over I get an error stating that I reached my limitation with Davinci Resolve? Is this supposed to happen?

Windows said this folder includes a virus or malware? did anyone else get this message? i'm scared to download it now.
I had someone message me with Firefox warning.
It doesn’t have a virus, we may have triggered a false alarm with our update.
We’ll see what we can do to fix the issue.
i am using davinci resolve 19.1 and when I am going to use this plugin, it shows it only available in paid version
For the free version, you need to use 19.03 (not 1) or older for plugins to work :)
why do I have to buy the full version when i want it to drop in the console??

When i drag the .lua file into the console i keep getting an error.
