    This fuguel section is one of my favorite fugues of Beethoven, it’s so intense and filled with drama.

    Well played everyone.

    can i just say that i got goosebumps watching emmanuel pahud sitting at the SAME EXACT SPOT playing the SAME EXACT PHRASE where the camera would pan to him 8 years ago in Abbado’s rendition of Symphony 9?? exactly at 0:43. - damn, splendid playing as always though, both Pahud and the orchestra and especially Pretenko.

      Die Berliner mit Beethoven und Petrenko sind wohl die größte Wand, gegen die man nicht anspielen kann. Die Siebte war der absolute Rausch und eine Perfektion, wie ein Schweizer Uhrwerk.

    Such beautiful harmony and synchrony, it’s almost impossible to not get goosebumps. Definitely captures the beauty of the chorus:
    Joy, o wondrous spark divine,
    Daughter of elysium,
    Drunk with fire now we enter,
    Heavenly one, your holy shrine.
    Your magic powers join again
    What fashion strictly did divide;
    Brotherhood unites all men
    Where your gentle wing's spread wide.

    I like the camera panning out to show the choir when they start singing.
    Nice to see this in a formal, concert hall setting. I prefer the open-air concert that the Philharmoniker put on the next day - a bit more relaxed.

      De acordo, Vitor! A propósito, recomendo muitíssimo a apreciação da obra de um compositor clássico nascido no Brasil, radicado na Europa há alguns anos. Ele se dedica principalmente à música sacra. Sinto-me como uma espécie de embaixador não oficial de sua música - e, efetivamente, também um de seus poucos apoiadores. Ele é muito, muito talentoso. Você não ficará desapontado. ruclips.net/user/WFerdinand
