Thank you TI for this interview. The profundity of Karol Wojtyla's thought, especially Person and Act, is only beginning to be revealed. His encyclicals are dripping with the Holy Spirit and get deeper each time they are read. Veritatis Splendor especially is a masterpiece which deserves to be read and promulgated widely. John Paul II was and remains a gift of God to the Church.
Thank you fr james and fr gregory for this indepth study and synthesis of st. JPII philosophy...it was a good help especially when fr james spoke of the integration of GOD IS LOVE and everything that comes from god is a gift of God. It is knowing oneself in participation to the divine Love so as we can think of responding with reverence to the truth about the Good, we can act centered to God...positively in communo for the integration of families and community. Salamat po padre. Thank you very much fathers.
I studied person & act as well as love & responsibility. The more you study JP2 works, the deeper and wider it gets, I can confirm that. Also his phd work and other thesis are well worth reading to understand his way o f thinking, not to speak of his work about Scheler. Thank you for mentioning this great teacher we were blessed to encounter in our lifetime.
To the extent JP2's Council for the Family TTMHS, 1995, 35 "higher vocation" separated acts, it separated persons. This was only corrected by Pope Francis' consecrated celibate marriage in his keeping on 17 June 2021 in the Vatican state case of his embezzled charity donations and simultaneously in the Italian Parliament case of his need of union of his identity at unacceptable risk of fraud its inseparability and qualitative equality with consecrated male female marriage and also simultaneously his keeping of the IS and QL= of ensuring role gift and insuring identity need as a double keeping authorising a third trinitarian keeping in uncertainty of belief.
Wow, thank you, Fr. Jim. This was so illuminating and renewed my prayer to live long enough to study JP2 more deeply. A "little" summary book of the themes you talked about in this conversation would help, too. 🙂

Was separation of gift and act for occult as hidden and incest connected as substitute mate economic advantage causing the "worldwide catastrophe [of] the great majority of sacramental marriages are invalid" (Pope Francis, 10/6/21; 16/6/16)?
JP2 did not accept qualitative equality in communio of consecrated celibate marriage and consecrated male female marriage. This was not corrected until Pope Francis' ensuring and insuring in his consecrated celibate marriage simultaneously on 17 June 2021 exercising an absolute power of authorisation. This correction was in the matters of: (a) his ensuring his procreation role gift charity donations embezzled by the Vatican state citizens/employees, Cardinal Angelo Becciu and nine others, (b) his insuring his need of union of his identity at unacceptable risk from of the Italian Parliament "Zan" anti-homophobia bill.

@@Dr.Weezil neither of those things are modernism, and his doctoral thesis wasn’t “partially rejected for modernism”. I’ve read those documents, and the fact that you think kissing certain objects somehow qualifies as modernism shows that you either haven’t, or didn’t understand them. And calling a canonized saint a heretic is pretty blasphemous, this is just fake traditionalism.

As inseparable and, as not accepted by JP2, qualitatively equal, Act processes multiplied by Person progress equals "I AM WHO I AM" (Exodus 3:14).

modernism!
He was a Modernist; it was not deep at all.
If you think St John Paul II was a modernist then you don’t actually understand what the condemned error of modernism is.
