  • IMPORTANT IMPORTANT UPDATE: I JUST ONLY FOUND THE CHAPTER 14 TO 16 OF THE MANGA. DILUC IS NO LONGER IN POSSESSION OF THE DELUSION.
Today, I will be doing a deep dive into the tales of the Abyss and the Fatui's Corruption and Weaponization of Divine Power and why Diluc and Kaeya will play key roles in the story.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This video contains manga spoilers and has used the canon of the manga as evidence. Be warned of this, as there is no announcement as of yet that the manga is completely written off.
I also just wanted to show my appreciation to the two melty bros and the manga because not enough people know the beauty that is the genshin manga. Definitely get a read of that for yourself when you have time!

I low-key feel like the end of the story will start from the place it all started i.e Mondstat. Its too poetic for mihoyo to not do this. Also all the Mondstat characters despite the embodiment of freedom are secretive in some way. Lisa dodges every opportunity to not talk about her ties to sumeru or her past at all despite being the most powerful mage sumeru has seen in 1000 years and then suddenly and inexplicably dropping her pursuit of knowledge and settled down as librarian. Kaeya and Diluc obviously as stated in the video and venti who also doesn't tell us anything about the God of time and her connection. Albedo about his origin... There's just so much

mondstadt got some pretty incredible people as well namely Alice, described to be near omnipotent, and Vennessa who ascended to celestia (not sure if other nations have notable people like her), and Albedo (by extension his master Gold) who have ties to destruction of Kaenriah and likely the end-battle involving Tsaritsa with celestia. Bringing it back to Monstadt actually makes so much sense, and would give us nostalgic feels when that time comes.

I hope they don’t throw away old characters. Cus with every new character coming out, I feel like the older ones get more forgotten.
I hope they go into older characters more later in the story. Maybe giving the playable ones newer versions of themselves according to the story.

Incredible video! Kaeya is my absolute favourite character due to his lore, and I think most people don't realize how important Kaeya really is. I won't be surprised if we find out that MiHoYo made us "forget" about him in the storyline just to make the future twist even more shocking. I also think most people don't realize how possible and probable the theory about Kaeya being a noble descendant really is (his voicelines, his character stories, other characters' voicelines, his own talents, and constellations, and even his own name suggest royal blood). We know that time flows differently in the Abyss/Khaenri'ah. Childe fell into the Abyss and spent three months there, while that was merely three days in Teyvat. Based on this, 500 Abyss years = 16-17 Teyvat years. So in Teyvat time, the destruction happened 16 years ago. Three years before the start of the game, Diluc's dad died, and about ten years before that Kaeya appeared outside the Winery. It is very, very possible that Kaeya was born in the original Khaenri'ah, in the Dynasty bloodline and thus, he had to survive as their "last hope", which is why his father brought him to Teyvat in the first place. I am almost 100% sure that Kaeya will "betray" us/Mondstat/Teyvat to side with the Abyss for a time only to later reappear at a pivotal moment to save us. A double agent, if you will.
Kaeya won't be just a key ally in the war that's coming against Celestia and the Divine. Kaeya will turn the tide.

Tho in the abyss the cataclysm happened 1000years ago if I am right
Dainsleif told us they so the 500 years is in teyvat time

@@grant0012 Hm, I do not remember Dainsleif specifying whether it was Teyvat or Abyss time, especially since he *is* from the Abyss so his perception of time is probably Abyss-based. However, I could be completely wrong, so I'll revisit my recording of the "We Will Be Reunited" quest to refresh it in my memory. I do agree that Kaeya is probably an heir though, as opposed to a simple noble or a distant descendant. The fact that he was not affected by the curse and has the star in his eye are telling, as is his own name. :)

im pretty sure that when dainsleif said that the cataclysm happened 500 years ago, i think he meant in teyvat time:
according to the artifact lore, there lived the late grandmaster arundolyn and his best friend rostam. rostam dies during his expedition to quell the monsters that arose from the cataclysm _500 years ago_ , aka during the fall of khaenri'ah. if the cataclysm did happen 16-17 years ago, then arundolyn would be alive around the time of rostam's death, and still be the grandmaster of mondstadt, but instead it is _varka_ who is the grandmaster. this is indicating that the events of the cataclysm and the existence/passing of arundolyn and rostam were long ago. varka is mentioned as the grandmaster during diluc's days as a favonius knight, which means varka has been around for several years already!
a timeline of 16-17 years isn't enough to accommodate the lore rostam and arundolyn, the events of the cataclysm, and the current events of mondstadt. if it did, then where is arundolyn? why is there no commemoration of rostam if his death were so recent, and why does his legacy only exist in stories? the only answer would be because it was history that happened a very long time ago, specifically 500 years ago, and the story of arundolyn and rostam was preserved throughout time (bc thats how collective learning works!)
also, a catastrophic event such as the cataclysm that is forgotten within 16-17 years by the entirety of teyvat is really strange, BUT if it happened 500 years ago, then it would make sense as to why the traveler had a very difficult time obtaining information from books and people alike about the khaenri'ah and its fall (mentioned in the archon quest in 1.4)
however, i do agree that kaeya will play a really big role in turning tide of the conflict between humanity and the abyss!

The Abyss Twin is literally called "Prince/Princess", so there might (and must be) someone of higher rank(s). And honestly, there was always a question in my mind that I'm not sure if it has the answers I'm looking for but I just didn't pay enough attention. Khaenri'ah was destroyed 500, now that's basically canon. Right? Now, Traveler was asleep for 500 years. So Traveler didn't get the chance to wander the lands of Teyvat, because if I'm not wrong, when the Unknown God put them back in Teyvat, the Traveler couldn't really do anything besides sleeping for 500 years.
So now, the Abyss Twin witnessed the destruction of Khaenri'ah (which was 500 years ago), right? What drove them to become literally Against the Gods, when their journey has just begun? Why do they feel so much anger(?) towards a nation they're not familiar with? Ok now you might say things like "but we saved Liyue and helped Dvalin when we first got to Mondstadt [which made us think of the Abyss as enemies]" but like, did we hate Zhongli for putting all of his nation in danger just for the sake of making sure that him giving his Gnosis to the Fatui is not a bad choice? We literally interact with Zhongli once again in his hangout quest, and even when he refused to talk, Traveler didn't seem to react in a way most of us expected.
And did Traveler even think of what their twin said? That they'll understand once they reach the end of their journey? Paimon seems to take it pretty lightly (at least to cheer their friend up). Sometimes when I think about it, I feel that it all depends on what YOU have seen, what YOU have experienced. Or something as simple as the way you think and see things.
The Abyss Twin saw Khaenri'ah being destructed by the Archons, so they probably took a bad idea of how they are like. when Traveler first went to Mondstadt, they also witnessed a bad thing. Dvalin was being corrupted by the Abyss, thus making the Abyss look bad. So pretty much everyone thinks badly of the Abyss. Because they did a bad thing to Dvalin without knowing the reasons behind their actions, other than taking it in the first word that we think of, "evil". They're just evil. Maybe a similar thing has happened to the Abyss Twin? But what makes me feel not so sure about that is because they did say that they know the nature of this world, and that once we reach the end of our journey, we will understand. So they could've changed their view later on?
But then I think of something like, did the Abyss Twin choose to view things in such a "black and white" way? They think ill of everything that they have seen? And why did they say that this world is not for outlanders (or smth like that?) When they're literally outlanders too? What did they just know/see exactly? And other than the different things Traveler and their twin have seen, do they just think differently? I mean, it's kinda nice to think of it that way. So maybe they see thinks in different _lights_? Yk, since their names are both related to light? And the colour of their hair are slightly darker/whiter than the other? ok ok I'm gonna stop lol. I honestly can't make anything out of the things we know, but all I know is that this game is so, so interesting. I literally can't wait to know more. After all, we literally try to find the Archons to know more about our Twin. I really hope we'll know more (even if just a tiny bit) about Traveler's twin in the upcoming chapters. I'm a horrible with stuff like theorising so let's just pretend I said smth cool! :D

      @@petrichorrs Wow, not bad dedication!
In my opinion, the main thing Lumine witnessed that made her think of Archon as evil was the destruction of Khaenri'ah: the theory floating around the Internet is that, Lumine knew the name of the nation being destroyed when she woke Aether up: this shows that she must have interacted with the world before waking her brother up. During that time, she grew to like the inhabitants of Khaenri'ah, at last enough to hate the Archon when they destroyed Khaenri'ah for seemingly no good reason.
Also... Doesn't Aether mean the clouds, while Lumine means the light (or something like that)? I feel that they both show how they're from another world, from above (the clouds above, the light from the sun above).

I'm glad I have both characters since it would be amazing to see them in the end game going ham on the Fatui, both agreeing that the Delusion that Crepus obtained is the cause of his demise. My Theory:
The Traveller will need to learn how to overcome the Fatui and The Abyss Order (clearly). The secret to this is understanding the power of the Archons (understandable). So, how do we accomplish this?
We, The Traveller, receive an Archon's Gnosis (we'll assume we either take it from the Fatui, or it's given to us. I don't see us taking it by force, but that is also possible). We then take this Gnosis back to Mondstadt, to try to unlock it's secrets, using Albedo's and Mona's help.
During this time, The Abyss launches a major attack against Mondstadt, trying to claim the Gnosis for themselves. The strategy is to keep The Abyss away from the city, and take the battle to the Dawn Winery. We lay out a strategy to lure them near the West Side of the Winery, and then have Kaeya come in with the Calvery to surround them.
The Abyss attacks The Dawn Winery as planned, and a battle ensues, but Kaeya never arrives. Instead, he leads a secret Team of Abyss Mages through Mondstadt to take the Gnosis. After seeing his people suffer endlessly, he wishes to take the Gnosis so he can break the curse on his peole, restore Khaenri'ah, and end the war. His plan is perfect. Take the Gnosis while everyone is away. Go to The Abyss. Restore his people. Create peace. He has made his choice....
He leads his Team of Abyss Mages through the Knights of Favonious headquarters to steal the Gnosis that is kept there. However, he finds that not everyone is at the Dawn Winery as expected. Lisa has stayed behind unexpectedly. She had her suspicions that Kaeya was an Abyss Agent, and now she sees him trying to steal the Gnosis.
A fight ensues, and in the heat of battle, Kaeya delivers a fatal blow to Lisa.
He then takes the Gnosis, and disappears into The Abyss.
Back at the Dawn Winery, the battle is being lost. Without The Calvery, Mondstadt is losing their forces too quickly. The Abyss makes it into the Winery, and we have to fight wave after wave. Seeing there is no hope, Diluc embraces his Delusion. He unleashes a tremendous power, and forces The Abyss forces from the Winery. At this point, powerful Ballista shots fire through The Abyss army on the battlefield, as Ningguang, Ganyu, and Keqing arrive with the Millelith. The Abyss sees the battle is lost, and leave in retreat.
In the end, Kaeya has chosen Khaenri'ah over Mondstadt, the Gnosis is lost, Lisa is dead, and we are left scrambling to rebuild.
On the upside, "Kaeya, Prince of Khaenri'ah" and "Diluc, Delusion Unlocked" become two new 5 Star Characters.

This would make an interesting theory or hypothesis, if Diluc somehow regains the ownership of the delusion he once had he would probably have to use it again.
But the chances of regaining the owner ship of the said delusion would be hard, Knowing its currently in the possession of A harbinger, Dottore. It’s interesting seeing many people guess which side Kaeya will take once the abyss makes it’s way to war with Mond, or brings up signs of Khaenri’ah starting its revenge, we know Kaeya’s been in the everlasting conflict on which side to choose ever since his father left him with the Ragnvindr family, we’ll just have to wait and see, but this has the gears in my head turning

i've been a silent viewer of your videos up until now. i just have to say that your narration skills are amazing, and that the video itself looks incredibly polished and well-put together. i'm glad to see someone talking about the future story and how it will likely circle back to these two brothers. there are so many hints placed throughout the game and official youtube content that i can't help but think the story is bound to return to mondstadt by the time the true climax comes around.
of course we know that kaeya is an important piece of understanding khaenri'ah and its destruction, but i always felt that theorists tend to understate the involvement that diluc himself will have in this too!
in his collected miscellany, dainsleif wonders if diluc would be so steadfast in his beliefs about the abyss order if he himself were to experience the same calamity that dainsleif did, and while diluc holds disdain for kaeya for his own reasons, it's obvious that when the time comes the two will have to reconcile their differences, or miss their chance entirely. i say that diluc learning the truth behind the abyss order and working with kaeya to devise the traveler's next step is going to be a pivotal plot point.
anywho.. i'm just rambling bc i love to speculate lol :) this video was very interesting, keep up the good work!

They will be doing Diluc a disservice if he NEVER interacts with a Harbinger. The Fatui are directly responsible for the death of his father. He must, at some point in the story, get some sort of retribution. I mean, Signora died. And I’m sure he’s heard about that.

Can't wait for kaenriah chapter. Kaeya will play a key role and probably dainsleif and albedo.
Final Archon quest: " the dream yet to be a dream"
Important characters in the story: kaeya, dain, albedo, tsarita, harbingers, diluc, knights of favonius, lumine, retired archons
-as the traveler closes his journey and learns the truth behind teyvat, he stumbles upon an old friend of his only to find out that he was the prince of the twilight dynasty. The traveler learns why he does this and his motives. The prince of kaenriah, together with the twilight knight journey across the ruins of kaenriah to fathomize a dream that is to be turned into reality. " the pride of mankind will see it's glory one day, we will defy this world with the power from beyond".

Ever since they renamed kaeya’s past passive talent from “heart of the abyss” to “glacial heart” it’s left me wondering if the creators of the game gave a dead giveaway towards kaeyas future endeavors and his connections to Khaenri'ah/abyss?
Also from reading up on keayes/diluc past falling out, I understand it wasn't good timing with crepus dying beforehand but for diluc to react the way that he did left me wondering how or where did he learn about the abyss for him to immediately react like that, or am I just overthinking this altogether and leave it to bad timing? With history being written by the victors I understand that that the losing side won’t have their knowledge passed down or written but I would like to think that Sumeru, the nation of wisdom, could have possibly written down past/current events- perhaps broke them down to become readable and shipped them off to different areas of Teyvat to be researched or discussed amongst other peers.
Somewhere in Jeans voiceline she talks about the heroic king of Khaenri'ah, and it really left me questioning, how many people in Teyvat know of Khaenriahs demise/current fate and portray a deep hatred towards them for whatever reason or worry for them to find a resolve in the predicament they were placed in.

Wow this video really makes you think. Most of the time I'm looking at the Archons as the main villains seeing as they serve under Celestia's whims, a fact that I try never to forget no matter how kind they come across as. (I realize this is an unpopular opinion) But to stop and consider the underlying motivations of our own allies like Kaeya and Diluc really does call for a pause in thought.
The Abyss Order and The Fatui aside for a moment, doesn't anyone find it strange that with everything going on in Tehvat, that Celestia hasn't made any moves yet? Remember Ningguang's floating palace? The whole point of Celestia was to oversee the world. Just how much has to happen before Celestia itself takes action and just what would that entail exactly? It's very strange that we have the freedom to gallavant all across 3 kingdoms, fighting battles that often involve the Archons themselves and Celestia has been strangely quiet all this time. Do you think perhaps the un-named God could be preparing us to be her new champion of sorts? Here we are working alongside the Archons, her subordinates, slaying Fatui, the Abyss Order, Hilichurl and even the Treasure Hunters who explore the secrets of ruins that could expose hidden knowledge she doesn't want exposed! Not to mention we still don't know who Paimon is, always watching us, talking in our ear always.
Yet another point to consider maybe.

This video really got me thinking that is for sure.
      Most Suspect characters in Genshin:
1)The Traveler, comes from another world, doesn't know how to cook anything yet already has their own style of sword art (claims they were self taught.) Frequently hides details of their identity such as their age, where they come from and why they originally came to Tehvat to begin with. Let's everyone lead them around by the nose with no decisive personal plan or agenda. Will take on anything in their way regardless of how dangerous they might be. Also displays high levels of being nieve despite clearly being able to read the room. Example: Traveler meets Albedo and submits to all kinds of extensive testing. (For reals!) Then afterwards doesn't even ask Albedo for a favor in return. What favor is that you may ask well how about asking Albedo to use his artistic talents to sketch a portrait of their sibling or perhaps even the un-named God. You'd think that might be kind of important.
2)Paimon, appears to be the last surviving seelie, has knowledge of the world but never talks about their past, joins Traveler after they rescue Paimon from drowning which is odd since Paimon can float!
3)Katherine, clearly a robot who is aware of teleportation devices that only the Traveler understands how to use, may be a means of surveillance for an unknown power. (I just realized that there is also no explanation for why the Traveler understands what they are and how to use them)
4)Dainsleif, seems to have knowledge over everything and everyone, doesn't want to reveal his existence to the archons and narrow mindedly fights against the Abyss Order, may have once upon a time traveled with the MC's sibling.

Nice video as always, thanks for menitioning diluc he is my fav character. But when you said: the fatui are dangerous, they are murderers, thieves, liars and monsters. I gotta wonder: Is the abyss and the fatui really the bad side? The victors choose the history, not the vanquished, if we think about this, everyone in the seven nations portray the abyss and the fatui as their enemy, but were they really the enemy from the beginning? Or were they forced to be the enemy? The fatui may be looked upon being the bad side obviously, but everyone strives for what they hold dear and if someone loses something dear they will want revenge and revenge brings another revenge, so my question is: Who is the enemy?

Perhaps we shouldn’t group them as a hole and point out the notable ones. Look at Childe, he’s sketchy and yes, a bit evil, but he also wants the best for his family. He is both good and bad, and he is also neither. On the other Dottore is just absolutely pure evil, who the hell turns children into war machines? That’s my opinion on it at least, but yes, I do regard the Fatui and Abyss as mostly evil, at the moment. I’m positive that the Knights are at leadt the good guys through this. Good intentions does not excuse terrible means. I think, even with how shady Kaeya is, that in the end he will choose the ones who welcomed him over the ones who pushed him away. I really hope he chooses Mondstadt, he seems to do everything for them. I do think Celestia is a bit evil too, but I’m positive that Venti at least, isn’t evil. Perhaps this is Celestia’s punishment. As Dazai says, “Evil expects evil from others.”

I think it is fairly safe to say that all of the knights of favonius will get their big moment in the story. For instance, I would be amazed if Lisa doesn't get a moment to shine in Sumeru. Though it is definitely clear that Diluc and Kaeya have a big role to play in the main plot over the rest.
I hope this isn't just wishful thinking, Amber needs a bit more in the story than teaching the player how to glide... Maybe something with her grandfather.

Fatui hate the abyss from what i know, on the pale flame artofact, they just hate everyone apparently, probably tsaritsa's form of love is cleanse teyvat from any kind of magic. Zhongli agree with her probably because that's the only way people would be equal??? no vision no ley line shits (used by abyss mage) & slyly, if celestia gonna go berserk again it won't be his country that going to take the hit, it's the tsaritsa's, if failed, snezhnaya would be the next khaenriah, advance tech? gnosis collection?? that's enough to make celestia nuke snezhnaya. ZHONGLI ONLY AGREE BECAUSE IF TSARITSA'S PLAN FAIL IT WOULD BE HER LOSS NOT HIS OR OTHERS but if she success it would benefit all of teyvat (damn this man is a businessman but no retirement savings) I can't imagine any other reason why zhongli agree, the thing put on the scale is the betterment of teyvat, which zhongli will take as he cherish his people, but it is too complicated for him to explain so zhongli told us to see it ourself on why this world need an upgrade or sum.
The abyss would be everyone's enemy as they want to destroy nations, while tsaritsa as fcked up as the fatui is wont let her people die, destroying 7 nation is not her intention as she seems care enough about human liberation. abyss want to take the divine & take over control of teyvat, they have no problem on killing human.

Like Venti's gnosis symbolises the Queen- which is the piece with most freedom in the board- and Zhongli's the Rook. Do you think that this is something deeper within the story (like we can theorise the archons involvement to the plot by looking at the chess pieces meaning in a chess match) or you believe it's just a aesthetic reason? imo itd be rlly anticlimactic, cliche, and predictable for kaeya to definitively choose one side over the other (khaenriah or mondstadt/teyvat). according to his in game story his entire life and character arc has been him having internal conflict about which side he should choose. im so curious to know later on how he really feels about khaenriah, the gods, his birth dad, any connection w dainsleif or any other known khaenriahn character???, what was the ancient plot about??, what his life was like before his bio dad dropped him, before the ragnvindrs, etc. what if kaeya chooses neither in the end. ends up in a situation where that choice is taken off his table. what if hes the catalyst for khaenriah and mondstadt/teyvat reconciling their differences, instead of warring with each other, in order to unite against celestia for the final battle. also something something khaenriah and mondstadt/tevyat reconciling has something to do with kaeya and diluc eventually reconciling.

Kaeya is adopted into the Ragnvindr family. It says in his story. Crepus is his adoptive father. I dont think sworn brothers and adoptive brother are isolated definitions.
