i actually interpreted the song about taking accountability for your actions and realizing that you’re in the wrong. obviously, nobody is an entire problem but it’s good to realize that you contributed to the problem :)
Yeah. But it’s not healthy to blame yourself for something in the past or fully blame yourself for everything. It’s good to know when you make a mistake and try to make it right but blaming yourself for something you never did is extremely bad for your self esteem and mental health.
@@gailasprey7787 the song is about realising your responsibility. That’s what the song is about. It’s the theme. The song doesn’t say that you should put blame on yourself when it’s not your fault. But the fact that you mentioned that as an argument maybe probably means that you don’t see the difference between realising responsibility and blaming yourself for the things you haven’t done or somebody else has done and maybe it’s easy to just always assume that the song has a toxic message and it’s always everybody else’s fault, not yours.
@@constantreader_md2858 Someone having a different interpretation of the song doesn't necessarily mean that someone can't see the difference between accountability and blaming yourself. The fact is, the song sounds very sad and is very reminiscent of a lot of people's toxic internal monologue about themselves. People can see songs differently (even if it's different from how the song was meant) without it indicating a character flaw. You should see the huge number of different interpretations of You're Somebody Else by Flora Cash.
The song is neither about a toxic partner nor about taking accountability. It's about the voice in our head telling us we're not enough. That person is the villain, the anti hero, but they're a part of us. So hating ourselves isn't the solution. That person is a fuck up, but also a part of us. It's a song about self loathing, self hatred but ultimately accepting that you, your anti hero, your larger than self side, ie id, ego and super ego all live in you n you've to deal with them.
Lol how is it that so many people missed this? I'd feel so weird if I made a song that most people clearly misinterpreted. Glad this comment is here because you hit the nail on the head completely.
@@marciemossas someone who suffers from depression, the line “it’s me, I, I am the problem, it’s me” is triggering. I know she is referring to the voice in our head, but it’s just uncomfortable to me. And since it’s the hook of the song, this is what you listen a lot when you listen to the song and there is really no resolve in the song itself, it still kinda ends with the same voice in the head.
Man everyone wants music about revenge or blaming someone else. I love this song because its about taking accountability for your own actions. Its refreshing and unique
@@liliththefirehawk796 «man everyone wants music about revenge or blaming someone else»a- we both know you were referring to this rewrite negatively with that statement.
It's about dealing with that nasty inner voice that's always telling you that you're not good enough. So many people, myself included, can relate to this.
Someday in someway, we will all realize that or imperfections do not matter and I’m still loving your voice through all the hardships that I’ve ever been through you’re the one that calms me down the most❤
I relate to Anti-Hero more than I have ever related to any song ever. I have a difficult personality. But more than that, I have depression, anxiety, Aspergers, ADHD and BPD. So not a lot of people understand me and how my mind works. And at work, at home and even among friends I often get told that that I am the one who has to change. I always get told that I am the problem. And I always have a difficulty getting along with other people, and me listening to this song encompasses the bitterness I feel to always being the problem
I was never a Taylor Swift fan. I didn't dislike her music, but I'm just into other genres. But when I heard Anti-Hero, it floored me like nothing I have felt in a long, long time. It was like everything I had felt about myself in one song. I almost cried when I first heard it because it's so hauntingly beautiful, and it rings so true to my life at times. I became an immediate fan of hers after that.
Same here girl. And then there are times when you scold your ownself after everyone's blaming, its your time to root for antihero. To look at situations the way they are not and thinking everybody will betray you. To look at the worst possible outcome and I hate that. Which is why I relate to the song a lot. I just used to listen to taylor swift. But the new album made me a swiftie. She is great
I like taylor’s lyrics the best…first in this song the purpose is not romantic so there is no “both” but only us and ourselves, and most of times we are our first enemies because we can be our worst judge, taylor delivered the message beautifully and perfectly…I wouldn’t make it a song about a couple, because in this song there is only our own judgmental perspective
Totally agree with you, antihero is about how we are our worst judges. She's not saying she's the problem in a romantic relationship, its out of context
The problem is this song is already written from the perspective of the person who's been told she was the problem and finally just stopped trying to fix herself. So she's explaining that she can't fit the mold of someone who refuses to accept that they have flaws.
Woooow this is perfect. You make me feel good actually. We listen to these songs and blame ourselves … even though we are not always the problem but bad people like making us the problem. And somehow we believe that.
I need this on Spotify rn.. going through a situation rn that perfectly matches this song. I thought it was all my fault, but now I realize that it’s far from it. Bit I still wish them the best
I am in love with your voice. The remix's lyrics are more heart touching than the original one. I was crying when a first listen the remake. And I have heard it multiple Times.... You should post the full length song. And I want to be the one of the first persons to hear that melodious song that made me cry and realise that I am not the only problem.. You should absolutely post to full length song ❣️❣️❣️
I'm having the worst toxic relationship ever and the blame games are making me relate to your songs so hard. The timing of this song is amazing 🔥 and it's awesome overall ❤️
The good part about the original lyrics was that she was admitting personal responsibility for her problems, as we all should! Blaming others helps no one; finding a path to changing yourself does.
I love that you wrote it this way. I love Taylor Swift but I really don’t like listening to this song with my little girl. Thank you for putting a positive spin on this.

You're right actually. But it's about knowing you're in fault but still not being able to help it. You're tired of yourself and your 'schemes' too.

I agree that the song is about personal responsibility and also getting targeted. Her humor is she plays with the tropes.

Are we not allowed to be inspired and rewrite songs to fit a different story? She’s not taking away anything from the original song by making this.
