  • We rescued this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 door Hard top from the same yard we got the 1957 Chevy 150 2 door post car from. We are just going to rehome this one, but it is all 100% original other than the battery and I hated to see it rot any farther into the dirt. The car has been parked since 1987 because the transmission started slipping. It's a 265ci with a power glide automatic, and it's got a wonder bar radio. This car is sporting its original paint and interior. Other than the rust it's like a time capsule. Thankfully she's going to a good home!

Love that it's a Belair and a V-8 car. The 55 Two Lane Blacktop car is owned by a guy in my home state of Maryland.

    She’s almost done!
I’m hoping to have it back in Panama City Beach next month for Emerald Coast Cruise in.
If I have it completed in time I’ll have to stop by your shop and show it off. Everything still looks 100% the same except the wheels.

I have an eye on a '56 4 door hardtop in my area (kinda). It DAMN NEAR makes me want to sell my '65 Studebaker to get it, but I don't know.
Glad this one's getting a good home.

1956 is the first Chevy four-door hardtop. Definitely worth saving, esp. with all the patch panels, re-pop parts and mechanical components available.

I’m torn between the 55 and 57. I love the gas door on the 56 but American Graffiti and Two Lane Blacktop have me favoring the 55.

@@323Fabrication I have an old custom mag where the guy grafted a '55 Dodge taillight section to the '56 Chev. I would paint the car two-tone, maybe grey/burgundy to accent the taillights. Just a fantasy dream car.
