- (Part Two) In today's video I make my way back to Kings Island after taking a little afternoon break back in my cottage at Camp Cedar. I kick things off with catching the end of the 50 years of fun street party before heading over to ride Banshee, The Bat and Invertigo and of course I give my review after having my firs rides on these coasters. After that it's dinner time, so I head over to Coney Bar B Que for some food and a quick review (it was delicious). Next I catch an elevator up to the top of the Eiffel Tower to get a bird's eye view which by the way the tower is 314 feet high. Once I make it back down to the ground I make my way over for a ride on the Backlot Stunt Coaster. Now that I have ridden all of the coaster that I wanted and received my coaster credits I start my re rides before park close. I make another stop at DiamondBack but it broke down before I got on. After that I have a night ride on The Beast and a few on Orion which was absolutely awesome! Before the nighttime firework show I stop inside one of the stores to look at some of the 50th celebration merchandise. Finally we watch Fun, Fireworks and Fifty which is a firework and a drone show for the 50th. Once I make it back to my cottage I share my overall review of Kings Island and my final thoughts before making my way up to Cedar Point. We’ve been loving these non Disney theme park vlogs! There’s more than Disney and while we all love Disney, it’s okay to take a break! We’ve been watching the Disney vloggers for a while and recently started vlogging ourselves mostly food related right now but we can’t wait to see where it takes us! Thanks for the video!

Kings Island is definitely a fun park with some great rides, but get ready for Cedar Point. It's my home park and if you love coasters there's no place better in the world. Really interested to see if Steel Vengeance can dethrone Velocicoaster as your favorite. Have a great time!! ☺️

True. I grew up with Cedar Point and I’m still so loyal to that one despite living near KI now. Cedar Fair buying KI really turned things around. Paramount nearly killed it.
Cedar Point is great, but after a lifetime of going to both CP and Kings Island, I finally conceded this year that Kings Island is the better park. Besides the rides and location, KI has CP beat in nearly every category…KI is more friendly, has better landscaping and theming, their operations are MUCH better, it’s an overall better atmosphere (CP is a LOUD park), and the rides aren’t too far behind…and they have an incredible nighttime fireworks show most nights (not just once a year). I find myself smiling and having a much better overall day at KI than CP, so I have to give the upper hand to KI.
@@Jeremy-jx4kq I will definitely give you that Kings Island has the better theming - CP has never been big on that. The only one really was Disaster Transport and wasn't all that great of a ride. Cedar Point has always been at the forefront of coaster development without any theming, basically saying here's the tallest, fastest, steepest, first-of-its-kind coaster, have at it. The park is loud and I cannot comment on the service difference, but if you're wanting to ride the best coasters, which I think is what Dev is there to do, Cedar Point is unrivaled. Cedar Point also had the unfortunate timing of having their 150th during the pandemic which hurt their festivities for it. I do love KI and hope to get back down there again soon!! 😀

Funny, when I first saw their fireworks, my thought was how can they be so much better than Disney? They really celebrated their fifty years so well.
I live about 15 mins from the park! They have an amazing fireworks show every night because we have one of the top fireworks display companies in the world Rozzi’s fireworks in Loveland

Thanks for another great video Dev. Brings back a lot of memories. I could bore you with stories for days. I will offer a quick tip instead. The classic wooden roller coasters traditionally have trains with 3-bench cars. Each car has three rows of seats. To save your body, sit in the middle seat of the car. That puts you between the axles, and the flex of the car absorbs some of the shock.

I just wish parks like this had more to offer other than just extreme coasters and spinning rides. My old body can't take all of that anymore. That fireworks show was pretty awesome though. Impressive! 😊
The fireworks display was wonderful to watch. I felt it was even better to watch than even Disney's. The real treat for me came at 21:00 when a salute to one of my favorite TV shows as a child, The Brady Bunch, was honored when you hear the Brady Kids singing .Fun Fact: The Brady Bunch actually shot an episode at Kings Park.(Season 5,Episode 11).
I love Rollercoasters and my favorite spot on a Rollercoaster is the front row and the back row! Your the best Devil!🤠🍻
Everyone has a "love/hate relationship" with the Beast man. It's such an icon and was such an inspiration, but it can beat the crap out of you. Still, unbeatable night ride, it's an experience like none other.
Row 17 at night is by far the best and smoothest. Best night ride I have ever had
@@MandJGames i like 13 or 14, can't remember which one isn't over the axel but it's a smooth ride, especially after the track work. Before Gravity Group fixed it, it was almost un-rideable.

As someone who loves coasters and I have migraines. I find 1 ride too many can trigger a migraine. A cold pack or cool washcloth to the back of neck for 10-15 minutes a couple OTCs and a good night sleep does wonders

Funny story so I have a torn acl and I live by cedar point and my friend works there and dev said he would go in his last vid so I told my friend to keep a look out for him and tell him I said hi cause he works there and he did so awesome thanks dev for making his and mine day sucks I could not be there In person

Wish we would've been there that day. We watch your Disney content all the time! We live in Ohio and Kings Island is our home park. We are season passholders. Watching this made me realize that sometimes we take for granted the fact that we live so close to such an amazing park. We are also Disney annual passholders and we enjoy all your content. So much has changed at KI! I was an Old Tyme photographer in that park in the 80's - my first job ever - The only coaster that still remains in the Beast! In my 5 years living nearby - I only road it ONCE! - The Son of a Beast kiddie ride was more my speed :D LOL Hope you get some Skyline Chili while you were there - and I wonder if KI still has the Blue ice cream - it was Smurf themed when I lived there - Great memories! The Racer, The Beast are both there. Vortex was jut taken down 2 years ago. Blue Ice Cream is a YES! Available in Planet Snoopy

The Son of beast wasn’t the kiddie ride. That is the Beastie. Son of beast was very tough wooden coaster that was longer and faster than the beast. It was taken down because of injuries and even a couple of deaths I believe

Son if Beast was not longer than the Beast but it was taller and faster. When built, it was the tallest, fastest and only looping roller Coaster in the world. They did have structural issues which forced the closure of the ride. Yes, there was an incident where several park guests were injured but NOBODY Died on the ride or due to any malfunction.
Today, Banshee stands on part of the land where Son Of Beast stood. Banshee is the Longest Inverted Coaster in the World.
The original BEAST has held the record of Longest Wooden Coaster in the World since it was built.

As I watch these 2 vlogs from King’s Island, I think about how much the park has changed & grown since I first went in the late 1970’s & then in the 1980’s. Things like the dolphin show & the animal safari have been replaced with modernized attractions. I’ve enjoyed your experiences
Backlot stunt coaster looked cool. As a kid it reminds me of Apocalypse at Six Flags California. Like stunt coaster Apocalypse used to be Terminator Salvation but they had to change the name. I don’t know if that ride is still there but that was my favorite ride of that time. But thank you for the view. Even as a non theme park enthusiast the view looks beautiful.

I know I'm a few months late but I loved your videos about my home park! I still live in Southern Ohio and Kings Island was my very first job when I was 16 years old! I'm sad you missed getting to ride Vortex before it closed! But I really appreciate your enthusiasm and joy while visiting Kings Island! I personally miss when Paramount owned the park, it was so much better in my opinion. I hope you're able to come back again some day and maybe enjoy some of the local Cincinnati food the park has to offer such as Skyline Chili, LaRosa's, and Graeter's Ice Cream!!

I lived in Ohio for a few years and I never was told about this place 🥺 It’s only 4 hour away from where I used to live. I really have to go back to Ohio lol to my parents house and go there it looks so nice.

Glad you enjoyed your time at my home park. For the next time when you ride on The Beast and The Racer if you want a smoother ride then ride on the middle row of any car (aka a non-wheel seat). For the Beast that is 2,5,8,11,14 and 17 (my favorite seat). Happy to see some love for Orion it's my #3 coaster and I like the front and back seats on that one. Banshee is my favorite invert, Mystic my favorite woody, Diamondback my favorite B&M hyper. Also thanks for the shout out to the ride ops those of us that are there weekly we know how great the ride ops are at KI. Don't be a stranger KI is a park worth many visits.
Holiday world is worth the trip.
If you hit it on the way back south you could add Indiana Beach as midway stop between cedar point and Holiday world.

Great Wolf Lodge was originally the Kings Mills Inn when the park open in 1972. The Bat is an Arrow Dynamic suspended coaster and the best of its kind was the now defunct Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
Yes you can walk a path from Great Wolf Lodge to KI. KI is my home park. I’m there about 3x a week. My 16 year old son works there too. We love this park. We are very Blessed to live in Ohio with Kings Island and Cedar Point. CP has great coasters but KI has better operations and nicer employees.

You made a great decision going on some of the coasters in the evening. Banshee, Diamondback, and especially Orion are absolutely gorgeous in the late afternoon, early evening. The Eiffel Tower is incredible right before sunset
One thing with The Bat is just the absolutely ridiculous walk to get to it hahaha. It's funny b/c the lines for The Bat are not long at all anymore, but it's funny to think about at one point the lines for that ride were so long that it had to stretch across that massive walk haha

Thank you, Dev, for visiting Ohio! I didn't know King's Island was celebrating its 50th. We went to Cedar Point for the first time last year. They have a smaller walk-through version of "the back side of water" near the children's section. We're hoping to go back to Cedar Point sometime; so your review was very helpful, especially regarding the roller coasters for our daughter (a WDW employee) and our niece.

Holiday World is my home park as I am originally from Evansville, Indiana.
It is well worth a trip. It is two parks for the price of one. Both the theme park and water park are together and it is so much fun. If you haven't gone there yet you definitely should plan the trip.

Another great vlog Dev! Kings Island is just my my hometown park California's Great America! It too is owned by Cedar fair. It has a two story carousel that is absolutely amazing! I'm 48, and I still ride it (top deck of course) every single visit. It's how our family closes out our visit to the park.🤗

I love seeing you at my home park! The Beast is always a must do for anyone who goes to KI! The graveyard is homage to the rides that are no longer at the park. Banshee was once home to Son of Beast (you thought Beast was back cracking…oi). You should you tube search The Bat (original). The Vortex (which they just removed a few years ago). Happy you enjoyed KI!

I'm honestly shocked you didn't like banshee, it's one of my favorite coasters. It does have a ton of inversions which I love but I know not everyone else does. Looks like you are having a blast!
So glad you made it to Kings Island! Food tip for next time you visit - be sure to stop by the Kids area for the infamous blue ice cream. This used to be called "Smurf ice cream" to reflect the old theming of the area. Of course like Dole Whip you have to eat it fast on a hot day :-)
Hey Dev... Glad you made it to KI. As a local, I have been many times in my 43 years of life. Its a shame that you weren't able to come during the years of the Vortex and King Cobra coasters. The Vortex closed a few years ago and Orion took its place I believe. King Cobra was a stand up coaster. I also went to the park several times when it was owned by Paramount back in the day. On a good traffic day, I can get to KI in 30-45 minutes.
Orion replaced Firehawk. They haven’t built where Vortex was yet
Quick correction. At 5:41, Great Wolf Lodge is located next to Kings island and can be seen best while on The Bat lift hill. What you were looking at in the video was Timberwolf Amphitheater, which is an outdoor music venue built a number of years ago. Technically in a way then, Great Wolf was beyond that outside the park.
We may see you at Cedar Point. We live in Sandusky and are there frequently. Have a great time. Definitely hit up steel vengeance!
I've always heard of King's Island and Cedar Point. Never been to either one, due to the fact that I live in Massachusetts. But I would love to take a road trip and visit both parks. I'm loving these non Disney videos
Kings island is definitely in my top 3 parks right behind Tokyo disney sea, it's just the best value for the money. We went a few months ago only for a day and we got to ride all of the major coasters about 6 or 7 times a piece. It's just a lot more relaxing than Disney and universal in terms of the crowd and the wait times. Plus, at a certain time of the year the season pass is really really cheap. Love this park, definitely go if anyone gets a chance!

The all day dining/drink packages are the best! We use them at Cedar Point as well.
Fun fact about the Banshee: It's the longest inverted roller coaster in the world! With like 7 different inversions. Pretty cool stuff lmao, this is my home park. I love King's Island so much.

Hello PC, I am so happy after watching your reaction to Kings Island in the 2 vlogs that you put together. Kings island been my home park since I was a kid back in the 70's. I go at least once a week, if not a couple times a week. Orion is my current go-to coaster, I ride it everytime I visit... I also love Mystic Timbers, it is intense and fun! 🐉🦇🌳
I am really glad that you had so much fun and got to ride so many different rides!! It truly is a special place! If you do go back tomorrow and are looking for something low key to do (Lol) they have a really cool show called Phantom Theater Encore up front at the KI Theater. It is based on their original dark ride - they have ride memorabilia, props, a miniature set, and more as a tribute. It's a mix of singing, dancing, acrobatics and magic. It is awesome! The 50th Anniversary Beast Burger (at Juke Box Diner) is amazing also!

Awe Man - pitch black for The Beast next time. Looks like dark dark wasn’t an option with the current park close time. Back in the woods in the full night is a whole new adventure. There are multiple sections of track expanses that are not lit at ALL. it is the best
