Hi Brian, love your coverage of new products coming down the pipe! Homey Pro has me very interested in possibly replacing my SmartThings home hub. I’m hoping they get the matter piece working and get more companies sensors & equipment in their lineup. Hoping as they grow the price becomes more palatable & hoping you do an in depth review on this smart hub! Thanks as always for your efforts!
Thanks for anothr good video, Brian. Once again you gave us the benefit of the hours of work you put into this stuff. There will obviously be devices folks love and some they hate in this big list of stuff. Happy New Year and keep 'em coming!!!
Hi Brian, thanks for your great video! Still, a quick note. At 0:22:12 it clearly shows how to connect the Homey Pro Ethernet Adapter. But starting at 0:22:20 you show us that you connect it the wrong way...
@@AutomateYourLife No worries 😉 Thanks for all your videos so far and all the best to you and your family in 2024. Stay safe and healthy, live smart 😀 so we can look forward to your next videos!
If you can get the Homey Pro people's attention, I will buy Homey Pro when they add Sonoff and Yolink support. That's a deal-breaker. 70+ devices in those favors. Bryan, how about telling us what the Sonoff iHost can do for us? And where you think its headed?
Great video as always. 100% honest review of Home Assistant. I moved from SmartThings to HA over a year ago, and I’m glad, but I like problem solving and projects. That’s key with Home Assistant. I think that came across in your review. If someone wants a smart home hub that isn’t labor intensive, HA would be a terrible choice.
Happy New Years my Canadian brother, thanks for all your hard work this year, I didn’t watch every video so this was an awesome recap of what I missed 😃 Are you going to CES in Jan, would love a collab with the bearded one Stu’s Reviews
Doing a new construction home any suggestion for recessed smart color lighting trying wire a smart home and also need switches that work with smart lighting etc.
Switches don't work with smart color lighting. You need to pick one or the other. I'd pick Lutron Caseta for lighting control. I'd pick Philips Hue for color lighting
@@AutomateYourLife I’m doing 70 slim 5/6 Phillips hue recessed lights and I have 36 - 4” bulbs for cans inside and outside. I’m using regular switches just in case in the future but I also bought Philips hue switches and dimmers so the whole house will be Phillips hue
I'm thinking go with automation of my Apt. Do you think the Hubitat Elevation Home Automation Hub (Model C-8) this ok to start with this? And how this will work with Samsung smart things?
Your TV has an Infrared Receiver and your remote for it has an Infrared Transmitter. The things we buy in smart homes are usually just called Infrared Blasters because they can be trained to control lots of your TVs and more. So an IR Blaster is just a remote that can be trained and fires the signal in many directions
I fail to see how this relates to my previous searches, Google. Well, aside from Kermit the frog and thick / thin rods; otherwise, I simply don’t see the connection.
Wish smartlocks would use the existing lock. These mechanisms are so utterly inferior to a modern Kaba safe lock, both in keysaftey and locksturdyness. I'd never trust these things .. they look like the can be ripped off and forced open easily.
Door Lock: One drawback is that older people lose their fingerprints, as do people that are in some professions (such as Chefs). It is a physiological fact. That means that the door lock main future, which is to open your door with a fingerprint does not work for a large section of the population. This includes all the baby boomers and the traditionalists or the silent generation.
@AutomateYourLife sorry just seen 4 hours and skipped it. Thought I could watch Titanic or Avatar instead. Happy new year to you and look forward to your videos in 2024
Looking forward to seeing more on Homey. It looks pretty exciting.
It's coming! Have a great day!
Me too as i think thats what im going to start mine off with
Thanks for all your hard work, Brian! All the best for you and Family in 2024!!!🙋
Thank you for everything! Enjoy the new year party!😃

Happy New Year Brian. Thank for what you do and your great videos. Lets hope 2024 will be better.
Happy New Year Finn! Thanks for all you do!
Also a more in depth Homey Pro video would be awesome, showing us the reliability etc
Yep! That's on the docket!

Great video! Looking forward to see what you think of Homey Pro more in-depth 😄

This is a beast of a video. Great summary of some pioneering tech. Those who complain clearly don't know how to use RUclips chapters 🤔😉
Much appreciated! Have a great day!
This is an amazing video, I'm 2 hours in and it's just banger after banger, love this channel
Oh thanks! Enjoy the rest!

What was the Flows app you were using when demonstrating the Honey Pro @ 3:54:27 ?
It looks a lot less cluttered than the one I am using!
It's just the web app for Homey!

Best!
Let's hope something new comes out in 2024 was a very boring smart home year this year...

The Altimview Sentinaire camera is black. The power cable is black, but the stand is white?! C'mon guys! Who wants that eye sore in their home?
So close, hey Chris? I'm sure you could get a different stand though!
Should do a update man.
